Distress call
Commodore, I hope this message reaches you in time.
I am sending this comm from aboard the Enterprise, being unable to make it to the previously scheduled rendezvous after the latest catastrophe. The second break out attempt was halted, although we made far more progress than on day 1. Such a reactionary force from BAF was unanticipated after the immediate encirclement of Vespucci. Remainder of our escorts are behind enemy lines, separated or damaged and it is impossible to consolidate it to any working unit. They have acted best within the role that was given to them, circumstances of our failure were parameters beyond our control.
Me and Captain Thach are currently devising strategies on how to bypass our pursuers and remain undetected. The enemy is using a multitude of cruisers that can overtake a battleship and the opposing force has deployed double the battleships to master local jumpgates perimeter. Their force is capable of locking down all exits - our passage to what was considered remote and safe Poole and Omega 48 may be impossible at this time. Dublin and Edinburgh remain safest bet due to enemy forces being spread over a larger number of getaways. Local unlawful (Mollys) have proven too incompetent to assist us, even with promise of payment. Consider them a liability from now on as they are more likely to be an obstacle than any help whatsoever after their latest stunt.
Enterprise has no escort ships or pilots of its own so we are completely reliant on your forces, Commodore. Furthermore I have discovered one potential reason behind the Bretonian onslaught. Enterprise is flagship to one of the few alive Insurgency’s members of the High Command, a fact which was not passed to us beforehand by the Captain. Admiral Jade Linford is in heavy but stable condition, rendering her unable to fulfil any duties. Her life is not threatened therefore there is no need to divert additional resources to treat her condition in deep space. I lack medical knowledge to make a judgement whether she will be able to do any function, including a desk job without extensive medical procedures we could render on our homeworld. Beyond a capital ship in excellent condition, well drilled crew and competent CO, Admiral may provide us invaluable knowledge and experience considering entities operating in Liberty and Independent Space, including Liberty Navy should they try to trespass though the Supergate again.
With Adm. Linford incapacipated, Cpt. Thach is the highest ranked officer aboard. Our wellbeing is in your hands. While I am pulling all the tricks in my books to tilt the success rate in our favour, we cannot do it without you.
