About

In 829 A.S., Doctor Sailas Montgomery left his research position at Cambridge and used his savings to found SLRC - Starlight Research Consortium. The small group's goal was to research the strange goings on around Sirius. One of these goings on was the odd appearance of anomalies in and around Sirius; specifically those in the Tau-23 system following the Languedoc gate destruction during the Gallic wars. Additionally, the strange appearance of the Dark Matter storm in Kepler was another focus of research, leading to the discovery of an abandoned Outpost there that they refurbished and brought online.

Those in the SLRC are described as being fascinated with the strange and unexplainable scientific anomalies in and around Sirius space, leading to a flurry of research in a variety of different fields such as Subspace Harmonics, Anomalous Theory, Archeology, and Xenobiology. However, scientific theory aren't the only fields within the SLRC. Within the small research consortium are escorts, security, development, exploration, and resource (trading) departments that all serve a purpose revolving around aiding research into these strange and unexplainable things.

Recruitment

So, you've finally decided to apply for recruitment. Well alright! Let me be the first to welcome to you the rigorous recruitment process. Now, now, don't be concerned. It's all a formality really. There's a few extra things you've gotta know you see. Namely, the fact that we're not an aggressive sort. I'm pretty sure that's apparent since we're Zoners but it needs being said anyway. Although, it also needs being said that despite all of that, we do have teeth when we must. We'll do all we can to protect what we've got and what we're doing.

Those that want to join just to fuck some people up, don't bother applying. We'll just ignore the recruitment request. However, if you've got a passion for learning about the universe around you or protecting those that do, then we'll be glad to welcome you aboard.

Bio: A former Xeno-biologist that was stationed on Freeport 11 following the Slomon K'Hara collapse in 801 A.S. By 810 A.S. Dr. Wright grew bored of working in the Deep Omicrons as a lowly scientist working under less reputable people and started pursuing another degree, specifically Jump Physics. In 821 A.S. Dr. Wright completed his 2nd PhD, and after being elected to chair research aboard the Interstellar, he found himself in the Omega 3 system; to study Baxter Anomalies. While conducting his studies, the Ingenuus Research Group discovered his public works on jump drives, and reached out to Brandon offering a increased salary and almost free reign of research which was accepted. In 826 A.S. Dr. Wright formed his own one vessel guild to continue his studies into the murky world of hyperspace.

Ah yes, the Ingenuus Research Group, I recall them being present when I was first beginning my work in Cambridge immediately after my dissertation for my final Doctorate. I haven't heard from them in sometime however and upon reading many of the news articles since, it would appear they collapsed. Sorry to hear about that.

In regards to your application...It is, of course, approved! Based on your experience and education, we'd be crazy to not accept you! Head to Ikarus Storage Facility 03 and we'll get you setup. The IFF on the station will read Junker for now, but I assure you it's a Zoner station. We've recently acquired the station and have yet to perform the necessary reconfigurations to the internal system to have it read "Ikarus Station" or Zoner IFF.

Also, as an aside, what division/department would you like to be apart of? Based on your resume I would assume Research and Development, but want to make sure we have the correct one that you desire.

Bio: Born on Erie, 800 A.S in Rock Creek Township, a Zoner settlement. Lived planetside for the vast majority of their life, eventually attending university on Manhattan due to growing economic links and opportunity between Liberty and the 'independent' Erie protectorate. Started a therapy practice in one of the major cities on Erie and devoted years to it before biting the bullet and going all-in on a passion of seeing the stars, earning their wings from Valley Forge Flight School before signing on as a transport co-owner. Has done some basic mining and hauling work before purchasing their own fully-owned vessel within the last few months, doing freelance exploration since then.
Reason for Joining: I've already got a ship built for purpose, and I've been exploring solely for myself so far but if I can continue what I do, contribute to the scientific community and lend a hand to some of the sharpest Zoners in Sirius while I'm at it, that's all the better. Also, less anxiety over financing! (//I think it makes the most sense to do right now for my character as well.)

AWES are good folks, happy to hear that they sent you our way. Indeed, we're always looking for explorers and researchers to discover new things within this region of space we call home. Beware though of the things that lurk in those new places though, sometimes they're not as friendly as you might think. Recklessly curious is a good adage for what we're generally about...within reason.

I haven't been to Erie in sometime, but from what I recall it's a population of Zoners who're kind and generous to a fault, you'll fit in very well here. Your application is approved! Report to Ikarus Station in Tau-23 for your assignment(s). We have a spare Corvo kicking around here somewhere, though if my memory is correct the powerplant is a little bit iffy. I'm sure one of our folks can get it ironed out for you though.

Doctor is correct, as well, though I neglected to identify as such because I expect I'll be more of an asset in my capacity as a pilot or ship's captain than as a mental health professional - something that's proven true more often than not out here!
