Hello, Raven. I hope this message finds you well. I'd like a chance to properly catch up at some point, but I know that bars aren't your thing, and furthermore you're generally busy enough that I wouldn't want to try taking time out of your schedule just for an in-person meeting with me, so I figured that allowing you to respond at your leisure like this will allow us to finally exchange information without the abrupt interruptions that often come with trying to talk while, say, on patrol.

You've mentioned that there's been two new generations of neuro-augs developed and put into active use in my absence, and that it's related to how I've seen the newer members of our extended family acting. I have my theories, but before receiving upgrades myself, I'd like to hear from you what sorts of changes have been made. I wouldn't want to just jump in and be caught off guard by any highly novel features.

On that note, I realize it might be a bit expensive, but I wanted to see about getting lung replacements. My recent trip to Leeds to pay my respects made me realize it's quite likely I'll develop cancer at some point in my life—average lifespan on Leeds was only somewhere around 56, and I'm nearly 30 myself, with most of that time spent planetside. Organic would do, but if we have in-house synthetics, I'd prefer that. If we don't have the resources to spare, I'd be happy to look into raising the funds or acquiring the materials myself, but I don't trust any outsider surgeon's hands with an operation like this.

Lastly, I wanted to check up with you. You've mentioned certain... conditions that you're suffering from, and while truthfully we've never been especially close, I consider you a friend. You and Leviathan did more for me than anyone else when you accepted me into the forces of the then-Covenant. I want to give back as much as you'll allow. I know that you and Leviathan had a special relationship, too—if you'd like to talk about what happened... I always looked up to him, and it was a pleasure to work with him on so many projects. Please let me know if I'm overstepping my bounds. I just want to make sure things are as alright as they can be.

Don't hurry about getting back to me, I know you're a busy woman. I'm just still trying to get my bearings, the galaxy is such a different place than it was years ago, the only ones I can trust are my comrades on this narrow path that we walk.

You need not to fret to merely inquire with me about an invitation to talk. I am not so occupied - well ... Calculations do have to run, so I do obtain a few moments of leisure to indulge in while they process the math. Mmm. Features? There are certain standards to keep maintaining, such as all of us requiring our neural interfacing unit which allows us to access certain locations, utilise certain tools, be able to... well... Simply operate. If there are concerns about side effects, you may find it more prudent to talk to an actual medical specialist. These devices are intertwined to your nervous system, for the most part, you should ideally only feel some soreness for a week or so. You could in theory forego the biotract installation, though you will lose the luxury of a far more optimised gastric system. It would possibly hamper your chances for survival on long-term expeditions if you cannot process the rations that are specifically nurtured for said missions.

I am terribly sorry to hear about your condition however. Perhaps we could figure out a synthetic replacement in question? I do not think it would be out of the question to have something arranged for you. Internal replacements are not an uncommon theme, as Sirius has made a habit of tragedy and conflict repeating time and time again.

Well... I do not mind your curiosity. It is only natural, is it not? Beloved Leviathan has long since departed as of ... a few years, I believe... As for me, hm. It has been no mystery that I was afflicted by a psychic "plague" - as it were. Not traditionally a type of pathogen, but more akin of a result of residue energy that has been left behind in my mind. Left unchained, unhampered, unchecked, it has been slowly eroding my mind, consuming it in a bitter wave of destruction. There are ways to resist it, but likewise, there are many other ways to also increase its rate. Stress, is a factor for lowering the mental defences.

Bah. It was said that I was supposed to perish a few months ago. A Nomad predicted it would manifest within six years. Admittedly, the side effects of amnesia, forgetfulness, confusion, can be ... problematic, but for the most part, I have overcomed it.

Of course I wish to know more. The more I know, the better I can help you as both a subordinate and a friend. On that note, I've perused the files about the Sentinels that you gave me access to—you might have seen my report wherein I discussed the matter somewhat with Dr. Aspen. I don't know how much I should share with them, nor who else has the necessary security clearances within the Technocracy, but the nature of their tracking—from what we know about it—as well as what little you've told me about your own condition has given me... ideas.

While I would greatly appreciate hearing more about your affliction, if you are comfortable with sharing, I'd also like your permission to contract an outside group, such as Daumann or Samura, to fabricate what ought to be some fairly cheap equipment for a series of experiments I'd like to run. If the documentation I've consulted is correct, it might help us uncover more about the nature of the forces of consciousness, as well as lead us towards more useful ways of approaching the Sentinel problem—but potentially lead them to us as well. Let me know what you think about this.
