Liberty Becoming the New Bretonia?
ERIE - Pennsylvania was rocked late last night as a freak evacuation of personnel and ships from Erie Zoners had to be organized on the fly, following the arrival of Liberty Navy and Security Force vessels in the planet's orbit. While under agreement with Erie-based Zoners for the extension of Bethlehem's No Fire Zone to temporarily encompass the planet for the duration of the evacuation, Liberty forces encroached within the Zone, and were met with staggering resistance by defenders in orbit. The Wombat has no official tally of losses sustained by either side, but Liberty appeared to be substantially outgunned and outnumbered, despite superior training and tactics.

During the battle, one source claimed, Liberty forces were seen opening fire on transports fleeing the planet's orbit, though no record of the cargo, human or otherwise, lost during the fighting has been given. Some defenders have alleged that the transports and freighters departing Erie contained substantial numbers of non-combatants, medicinal supplies, and other humanitarian goods. The Liberty Navy has at this point been unwilling to make any official comment, though sources within the Navy have said the cargo was more militant in nature.

Many aboard Bethlehem Station have already begun painting parallels between Liberty's actions yesterday and Bretonia's invasion of Planet Gran Canaria, citing the peaceful nature of diplomatic talks before the abrupt beginning of fighting in the planet's orbit. An already substantial amount of vocal support has been given across the Freeport Network, and many Zoners have already pledged themselves to the protection of their fellows across Pennsylvania. Regardless, while this news station remains committed to covering topics with a semi-unbiased viewpoint, one thing is abundantly clear:

Liberty has f--ked up.
