SUBJECT: Congratulations are in order

Admiral of the Fleet,

As a result of the personal initiative of Ensign Victor Callotis, it came to my attention that there has been an executive change inside the BAF Admiralty Board. On behalf of the Admiralty of the Liberty Navy secondary forces, and the Republic of Liberty itself, I would like to extend our sincere congratulations on your new position as the Admiral of the Fleet.

Personally, I never understood the failure of the diplomats to preserve what I see as an unbreakable bond between our houses. I have always taken an active stance when it comes to promoting cooperation between the Liberty Navy and the Bretonian Armed Forces.

I hope we can not only continue on the past relationships that have been built between our Houses, but also bring in fresh winds of cooperation symbolized by your fresh appointment. We would like to strengthen said cooperation with mutual exercises, be it in Magellan, Cortez or Coronado in the near future, along with the ongoing initiative of Officer Callotis that has the First Armada's Full backing.

With deepest regards,
Blake Wayne Van Leer - Admiral - 1st Armada

Esteemed Admiral Van Leer,

thank you very much for your gratulations. I am quite honoured her Majesties Government saw fit to reinstate me as Admiral of the Fleet. I almost had made my peace with the outlook of a comfortable, if quite boring, retirement in the near future. But if duty calls one has to answer.
I have to say I was surprised to hear that there have been political tensions of one kind or another, considering I have served in less exposed roles in recent years this development has passed my attention.
Politics can be hard to grasp for those of us who are not allowed to see its inner workings unfold.
I just as well am deeply convinced that our houses are natural allies, by shared history in the far and recent past. Much blood was spilled together to fend off those who wanted to subjugate both our people and together we emereged victorious.
I for my part am going to gladly pursue cooperation between our forces and am quite pleased that this seems to be a mutual interest.
I am very much interested in planning joint exercises including all our allies in the region, the men and women of the armed forces can only benefit from such endeavours.

yours sincerely
Sir Jacob McIntire

Admiral of the Fleet,

I am pleased to hear that. Your predecessor has actually organized the wildly successful joint Crayter-Liberty-Bretonia military Exercises in Coronado. Due to the tensions, however, round two has never materialized - would you be willing to revive the idea? And perhaps even be at the organizational helm yourself like your predecessor was?

Showing our potential enemies in the border worlds that we will stand united against any strong aggression would go a long way in my opinion.

Regards,
Blake Wayne Van Leer - Admiral - 1st Armada

Esteemed Admiral Van Leer,

I gladly would. I will inquire if the Crayter Republics Military is interested in partaking in such an exercise.
I will let you know about any further steps.

yours sincerely
