Erie resistance flotilla, deep within Liberty Space.
It has been around four months since House Liberty attacked planet Erie on the grounds of a false flag operation. That day, thousands of valiant Zoners, who only wanted to protect their way of life, died in battle. The outrage of a second Gran Canaria lit the hearts of the indignant populace on fire. Militant and Guerrila groups formed all around Erie, some even risking their lives returning to the Omicrons to gather equipment, vessels, supplies and ammunition for the fight to come. They knew that to fight the greatest military of mankind, they'd not only need supplies and credits, but also motivated people, willpower, perseverance and mostly important, hope.
The Zoner militants from Erie and around Sirius gathered their strengths deep within Liberty Space, forming a nomad Zoner flotilla called The Rally of the Free. With their extensive knowledge of backwater jump hole routes, they managed to gather sufficient resources and military power under the ever vigilant eye of Liberty, strained from gazing into Veracruz for so many years.
Members of the flotilla are diverse. Since Zoners have no central authority, the population its comprised of researchers, freelancers, mercenaries, doctors and of course those anxious for the day Liberty - and the other houses - are taught that Zoners are to be left alone.
The most radical group and at the same time the most influential on the flotilla is the Pennsylvania Liberation Front. Bearing the sorrowful flag of Pennsylvania in black and red, They show no mercy to those who work for Liberty - civilian or military. They're extreme to most Zoners, and their actions divide opinions. But they work to convince their fellow Zoners that the path to freedom is one paved by blood. Not known by many, the Front was founded by members of the Freedom Fighters, those who defended Erie with their lives. This fact gained them sympathy from even the moderate Zoner populace and members.
Time went on and the flotilla grew in size. Once made only of a handful of Cruisers and transport ships, more and more sympathetic Zoners from the Freeports and isolated planets joined. The fleet is now completely self sufficient in basic resources such as water and fuel thanks to mobile processing ships and exploration carriers, with military power being projected by lethal Q-Ships and Carriers with their snub craft compliment.
Actions of the Front are bold, with attacks increasing in lethality, size and frequency. "A Zoner without the peace brought by boundless freedom will never be a Zoner" is a common saying within the halls. "Freedom or Death!" is shouted after reunions. The militants already made it clear they prefer death to being controlled. To what extent they will go? Not even themselves know. They all know for sure, though, that they won't stop until Erie is Zoner again.
