We are stunned. The loss of your President is a shocking development, and an affront to caring peoples throughout the Sector. Her loss is unmeasurable, I am sure. We are as surprised by this unanounced move by the Gaians as you are; and we condemn this low and atrocious act.
I am issuing an Episkopal Edict immediately. It is strongly recommended that all previous LDD members who have not already done so divorce themselves from these Gaian murderers immediately. Any further efforts to befriend, educate, or convert these radicals will be anathema to Eris.
Admiral Adama and Ambassador Gideon, our heartfelt condolences. Please advise us if a State delegation would be appropriate at any ceremonies.

In a joint statement issued just minutes ago, the Quorum of 12 have announced an election to be held in 2 weeks for the office of the President of the 12 Colonies of Kobol. This follows the tragic slaying of their longest running President, Laura Rosalyn, on Planet Harris 2 weeks ago. Election front runners include Nicolos Gideon, a common civilian transport captain thrust into leadership only recently and endorsed by the leaders of the Erisian Liberation Front as an ambassador to their long sought for home, the Free State of Fernando Poo. A growing understanding between the Colonial remnant and the mysterious missionary pirates has given authorities in Bretonia some cause for concern but the Remnant have not indicated any change in their contractual obligations to Planetform or their hopes to have a planet terraformed. Having such political connections in Sirius as a refugee with barely 3 months of residence in Bretonia has elevated the common family man to high esteem amongst his fellow Colonials.
