Vessel Name: Aegis|CV-Citadel
Class: "Bustard" Light Carrier
Date of Acquisition: 24/2/834 A.S.

As the Aegis Initiative has grown over the years, its scope of operations have expanded dramatically to cover most, if not all of Sirius. Aegis pilots take contracts ranging from small jobs near Planet Manhattan, in Liberty, to larger-scale operations in the independent worlds. In recent weeks, they have also been seen mounting larger-scale attacks in the deeper Omicrons.

Aegis’ prime targets are catching on to their tactics though. Rather than sending out snubcraft units of their own, enemy forces have been deploying significantly heavier assets to mitigate the effectiveness of Aegis’ highly potent fighter units. To combat this, Aegis co-owner Isaiah Steffen, alongside a couple of long-standing Aegis members, have pooled resources to fund and outfit a new flagship and battlegroup, coined ‘Citadel’.

Citadel is a heavily modified ‘Bustard’ class civilian carrier, outfitted with the most high-tech weaponry Aegis can afford. These weapons are designed primarily for anti-capital ship support. Additionally, the carrier is outfitted with multiple docking modules, designed to house Citadel’s own personal guard: a wing of anti-capital “Moray” class bombers.

Citadel acts as a mobile platform for Aegis’ many pilots and provides a stable rallying point when conducting longer-term operations in deep space. Additionally, it offers anti-capital support without having to rely on allied forces, as well as a place for Aegis fighter and bomber pilots to refuel and resupply in the heat of battle. The carrier is stationed near IMG Outpost Holman in Tau-31, providing relatively close access to most of the houses Aegis operates in, as well as access to the deeper Omicrons. With the addition of Citadel to the Initiative, Aegis is more ready than ever to assert its dominance, both within the Guild and across Sirius.
