Captain: Ippiki Ookami
Ookami began serving the Emperor in the humble position of Dragon pilot and eventually worked his way to the feared Chimaera fighter. In his career as a fully active patrol fighter, he proved himself over and over again. His biggest flaw was obvious, though, and all who worked with him discovered it fully. He is the Lone Wolf, the man whom looks only to the KNF High Command and the Emperor's divine will to lead him. Even when he was granted the Emperor's mighty bomber, he flew as his own man. Such a flaw nearly killed him.
It was a slow day of patrols in Ookami's bomber, but he knew better than to be off his guard in Honshu. Bordering on far too many non-Kusari systems, Honshu was only marginally safe for travellers. It was at Akita Border Station that he read the incoming Golden Chrysanthemum terrorists. He had been trained time and time again on how to deal with this situation, but he defied protocol, which was to send for assistance, and simply demanded the Golden Chrysanthemum leave. They laughed at his boldness and opened fire. Ookami is no fool, he knew the chance of winning was marginal, but to him the Divine Will of the Emperor would protect him that day. After being bombarded with gunboat turrets and 2 bomber strafing runs, Ookami's ship was hanging by a thread. He could feel the fractured cockpit starting to give way to the vacuum of space. With his void suit in place he prepared for the ejection system hoping to die rather than be captured by these vermin. It was then the Golden Chrysanthemum decided, with their sick minds, to leave Ookami to the vacuum of space to freeze, starve, or any other equally awful fate. His last sight was his bomber, miraculously in one piece...with a few exceptions...but the damage was repairable. Only the Emperor's divine will could have saved his ship from total destruction, and he knew this, thanking the Emperor with what consciousness he had. None of this mattered, for he would die in the vacuum of space. The thing that would kill him would be thing he had vowed to protect.
Ookami woke up in the cargo area of a Drone trading vessels pilotted by Yerigana Nagasanni. He was barely conscious as he thought to himself: “The Emperor Protects”. This would be the beginning of quite a journey and friendship between the two.
Nagasanni is now working for Captain Ookami funding his maintenance and upgrade costs for his ship. Though Ookami has learned to accept help and ask for it when necessary, he still refuses to take the Emperor's money. So the Wolf is still inside, but buried under his need to be a leader to whom his crew looks to for wisdom. Captain Ookami is currently in command of the Kusari Destoyer IKN-Shinigami_Maru. Many a pirate and terrorist have fallen to her turrets.

Pilot: Lucy Nagasanni
Lucy is the daughter of Ookami's employee, Yerigana Nagasanni. Though her story has only begun, she has proved her worth well. As soon as she was of age, she moved to the KNF dojo to train as a pilot graduating 11th out of 300. When her training was complete, the KNF allowed her to be a part of Ookami's crew as a token of the trust he had developed with them. Lucy was glad to serve under her father's friend. She had read many of his battle reports and was itching to be a part of them. Her reflexes are served well in the agile Kusari naval ships. Many pirates and terrorists have underestimated Lucy's skill and the maneuverability of the Shinigami Maru resulting in their well earned demise. The Emperor Protects.

Gunnery Officer: Naku Takiyama
Takiyama is an unconventional Kusari military man. Where most prefer subtlety and grace, he prefers raw firepower and excessive intimidation. If it wasn't for Captain Ookami keeping him in line, Takiyama would fire upon anyone he deems “disposable”. Naku seems reckless, but his aim is true to any well trained Kusari Naval gunner. Captain Ookami took him aboard, even with his somewhat negative reputation, and found that Naku's loyalty was unmatched. It would be more likely to see Takiyama trying to cut his own leg off then defying an order from the captain of the Shinigami Maru. Reasons for keeping such a man aboard escape many Captains who learn of this man. When asked Ookami said “Death has no mercy for man, and when I give the order to fire, I expect no mercy to be shown from the Shinigami Maru. Naku is, therefore, my preferred choice.”

Navigator: Yori Catsumato
Yori was born into a wealthy land owning family on Planet Kyushu. Upon realizing the decadence that such a lifestyle of riches brings, Yori Catsumato decided to join the Kusari Naval Forces. His odd ability to sometimes see things on the nav screen a second or two before they actually appear fills much of the crew of the Shinigami with eerie awe. Some say that he shows signs of evolution in the human mind, and that he may be the first “Psyker” on Kusari Naval Forces records. Most people just say he's lucky and a bit crazy. Regardless, he is an odd man, but a competent Navigator.

Systems Engineer: Matsui Horimato
Matsui Horimato has always been a working man. Ever since the age of 14 he has been on his own, responsible for making his way with little guidance. Perhaps his lack of authority figures led to his request to join the Kusari Naval Forces. Regardless, he excelled in understanding the mechanics of many Kusari military craft. He does his job as he is expected, but glory is not in his mind. He seems to serve simply because he has nothing else to do. Captain Ookami has called him on his seeming lack of direction in his life, but you can not change a person's way, merely try to convince them to change it themselves.
