Taylor Davis was born on planet Curacao to Libertonain Steven Davis and Kusarian Hiroko (Suzuki) Davis. Both were employed by Orbital Spa and Cruise. They met on Luxury Liner Hawaii, where Hiroko was, at the time, a concierge. Steven was working as a transport pilot. Eventually they transferred to Curacao, where they were married. Two years later, Taylor came along.

As a child Taylor spent most of his time on Curacao, with frequent trips to New York (Manhattan) and New Tokyo to visit his grandparents. His physical features show his Kusari descent, but there is something of his father's features in his face as well. He might fool a non-Kusari, but most Kusari will recognize him as part something else.

Taylor truly grew up with a life of luxury. His parents spoiled him way too much, but made up for it by keeping a tight reign on his activities. He was often lonely growing up, since there weren't many people his own age around. His parents considered sending him to Liberty or Kusari for school, but in the end decided to hire private tutors. The tutors were good, but no substitute for friends. Eventually at age 17, he met Libertonians Alexander Reed and Steven Taylor, both a few years older than Taylor. Alexander was working as a transport pilot, and Steven Taylor was Alex's escort on many runs. After several times seeing them on Curacao, he begged his parents to let him go along on a routine run from Curacao to Hawaii, flying with Alexander in his Mammoth. After much pleading, they agreed. The trip would change Taylor's life forever.

The convoy was going along fine. After stopping at Manhattan to pick up Luxury Consumer goods, the convoy headed through Colorado. Usually Alexander went through Galileo, as this was somewhat faster. This time however, the Colorado/Galileo gate was down for routine maintainence, so the convoy was re-routed to Kepler. The Lane Hackers took advantage of this, and struck the convoy at the third Trade Lane gate. One of the escorts was destroyed, but after a pitched battle the Hackers fled into the black. Steven Taylor's ship was heavily damaged, and he was forced to eject and come on board the Mammoth. The Mammoth's cruise engines were damaged, but they managed to make it to Ames Research Station using the Trade Lane, where they landed for repairs.

While mechanics worked on the transport, Taylor went to the bar. The bar was mostly empty, as it often is, just a few Zoner regulars and the bartender. Taylor sat down at the bar and ordered some sort of fruity cocktail. The bartender laughed and said
"That's a good one, did you just come in from Curacao?"
"As a matter of fact I did."
"Well, we don't have any of that, here try this." The bartender said, pouring Taylor a real drink. Taylor took a hefty gulp of the whiskey, and immediately started coughing.
One of the Zoners nearby started chuckling and came over to the bar to sit down next to Taylor.
"So, did I hear you right, you're from Curacao?"
"That's right, my parents work for OSC."
"Orbital Spa and Cruise eh? We don't get many of their convoys here, mostly they go through Galileo."
"That's true, the Colorado gate was down for repairs, so we re-routed. The Lane Hackers ambushed us, our Mammoth is in for repairs."
"Lane Hackers eh? Yeah, they can be pretty nasty. They leave us alone though."
"Us?"
The Zoner chuckled a bit and said,
"Zoners boy, haven't you heard of us before?"
"Oh! You're a Zoner? Sure I've heard of you guys, but I've never met any before. Do you live here?"
"Mostly. I visit Freeport 9 pretty regularly."
"Freeport 9?"
"Yeah, it's out in Omicron Theta. Lots of Corsairs and Bounty Hunters."
"I've met some Corsairs, scary people."
The Zoner chuckled again.
"Indeed."

The conversation continued for some time while the Mammoth was being repaired. Eventually the Zoner went off to sleep and Taylor went back to the landing deck to check on the repairs. The conversation had quite the impression on Taylor, filling his head full of strange far off places outside of House (and his parents') control. The Mammoth and the escort ships were repaired, and they finished the run routinely. All throughout the rest of the trip Taylor kept thinking about the conversation with the Zoner. He couldn't stop thinking about the Zoner way of life. When he turned 18 a few weeks later he learned to pilot, and did some Freelancing for OSC, a few escort missions and the like. But his heart wasn't in it. He decided that he wanted to be a Zoner.

His parents were against it, and tried to talk him out of it. But he wouldn't be denied. They couldn't stop him, he was of age after all. He took out a loan from a bank on Manhattan, bought a Rhino, flew to Ames Research Station and never looked back.

Because it's sandwiched between Kusari and Liberty, it's the perfect place for half-Libertonian, half-Kusari Taylor Davis. The loan was paid back early, and Taylor worked his way up through the Zoner 'ranks,' apprenticing on various vessels learning his way around Sirius, the skills to keep a ship up and running, and, in his spare time learned advanced astrophysics and computer programming.

His friend Steven Taylor has joined Liberty Police, Incorporated, and Alexander Reed continues to work for OSC. Taylor has been all around Sirius, from Omicron Theta and Gamma to Omega-49, to the Sigmas and Taus, and most everywhere in between. The one place he has so far avoided is Nomad space. This has been a concious decision on his part, there's plenty to do in the rest of Sirius. If called to Omicron Delta, he would probably go, but he would definitely prefer not to. Nomads are even scarier than he once found Corsairs. However, he wouldn't trade the Zoner way for anything.

Now, three years later, Taylor is the captain of his own Zoner Gunboat, the Golden Retriever, based off Ames. He named the ship after the ancient earth breed of dog, saying the ship remided him of holos he had seen of the breed. Most of his Zoner friends think it's a strange name, but being Zoners, they're not ones to talk of such things. Live and let live, the Zoner way.

Recently, he is attempting to join the Council of Zoners, and hopes to help shape the future of the Zoners. He still spends most of his time in and around Ames, with frequent trade missions to wherever the Golden Retriever is needed.
[Editor's Note: This is written from the *character's* perspective, no offence or judgement is intended on the players of the Zoner factions.]

Taylor was enjoying his time on the Council of Zoners. He felt like they were doing some good work. His personal affairs were going nicely as well. True, the Corsairs got a bit upset about them making a treaty with Liberty and Bretonia (Treaty of Bethlehem), but in the end the effects were minimal, as Taylor predicted. And sure, the QCP made a bit of trouble, but that blew over. Then the Zoner factions left the Council. 'Uh-oh' thought Taylor, 'this can't be good..'. But things kept going fairly well for a while. Then came this: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50339
The announcement of the Zoner Alliance. 'What the...' thought Taylor, 'So now they're starting their own group, without us [the CoZ]? but with some new, not-yet-in-existance Zoner Union of Independants? Great.'

Taylor saw it for what it was: An attempt to destroy and disband the CoZ. He attempted to find out why, but the reasons didn't make sense to him. In any case, the decision was made, and from the ensuing discussion it was obvious that neither side [the CoZ and the ZA] was going to back down. Taylor couldn't help but feel responsible, in a small way, for this falling out. He had been the one to nominate Ms. Silvan as the replacement chair of the CoZ, and the ZA (not to mention the Corsairs) clearly had it out for her. None of them could see that it would be infinitely better to work together to fix things rather than just form more splinter groups. He left Freeport 9 feeling very down.

Back on Ames he sold his share of the Golden.Retriever. His crew, his friends, tried to talk him out of it, but he wouldn't listen. Eventually they told him he just needed some time off, he could re-buy his share in a few months. He agreed, though he knew he probably couldn't go through with it. He pitched in around Ames, doing odd jobs, and spending far too much time in the station bar attempting to drown his sorrows. He didn't pay any attention to news from the rest of Sirius. He knew he didn't want to go back to the Retriever, too may memories. He decided to give up being a Zoner and go back to Curacao, visit his parents, and see if he could get a job with Orbital Spa and Cruise. He was about to ask the bartender if he knew any ships headed that way.
