PRELUDE

The Omicrons. The most dangerous space in Sirius. A no man's land land. Hunters, Corsairs, Outcasts, the Order, Zoners and nomads are swarming in. Nothing in there but death and sorrow. But... what if Liberty took interests in it?

Thus, began the construction of the SFC (Security Force Cruiser) Santa Fe, a specially modified Siege Cruiser that will scout deeply into the Omicrons, in hope of finding valuable ressources for Liberty, or at least have a possibility to strike their enemies from the inside. But how deep can one enter the Omicrons without becoming crazy? Will Captain William Scott and his crew be able to stand the heat? Will his loyal fighters defect to the Order, who are tightening their grasp around them? Will the Corsairs simply eradicate them while they're so far from home? Will it be the Core itself that will consider the LSF as a rival in their quest to gain Nomad Technologies?

Or worst, will it become the Tundra's sister ship?
((Further chapters will include description of crew, ships, mission, etc.))

PART 1
-When one lives in the Omicrons...-

??????, OMICRON KAPPA

Chief engineer Joey Black walks into the command deck, all sweaty and dusty due to his work in the engine rooms. He slowly walks up to Captain William Scott. Everyone was as his station, minding their own business. If it wasn't from the bleeping of the controls, the ship would've been tought abandonned.

''The cloaking device was fixed. We should be safe from threats for the night, Captain.'', said Joey, before returning to his quarters, dead silent.

This was a grim day for the Santa Fe. It simply was day Two, and it already lost so many lives... William Scott felt responsible for all this. Families and friends were counting on him to see their relatives alives. But... he failed them all.

---Hours before---

FREEPORT 11, OMICRON DELTA

While supplying on MOX from the Freeport 11, the Santa Fe received menaces from a Core soldier. William knew that backup may be on its way, so he had to act quickly.

LSF pilot Jane Moriarty was assigned to neutralize the Core contact. After having a short discussion, most of it about the nomads onboard the Santa Fe, Moriarty had no choice but to engage the bomber to protect her Captain. Her goal simply was to scare him away--- which she did, when the bomber's thick hull finally breached from waves and waves of Magma Hammer blasts.

Captain Scott wasn't satisfied by this too much, so he tried to contact the Core soldier, sucessfully. He knew that to survive in the Omicrons, he'd need the Core's help. The Santa Fe, even though specially modified to survive in such a harsh environment, was no match for -all- of its dangers.

Although his first contact with the core wasn't in the best conditions, the same pilot that Moriarty downed hours ago requested the Santa Fe's help. Appearantly, the Apocalypse, a rogue group flying under the Core's flag, was causing them trouble. There was the occasion Scott wished for. He scrambled Jane Moriarty to assist them, and the Core soldiers finally engaged the traitors. Jane's role purely was supportive, but the Order finally intervened, in such a ruckus. Half of the Order were supporting the Apocalypse group, while the others were assisting the Hunters.

Sadly, the Core bombers went down like flies, and the only Core bomber that came back in one piece owed it all to Moriarty who covered his exit. The operation didn't go as planned, but it was a point for the LSF. With the hopes of becoming closer and an intimate friend of the Core, William Scott ordered his crew to head back to Omicron Kappa.

In Kappa, Josh Warff, the radar officer of the Santa Fe, detected two Apocalypse signal in system. The Santa Fe went to investigate, and discovered that the so-called Hunters were ''Zoner'' refugees on Primus. Agaist all odds, when the Santa Fe was about to contact the Core soldiers, a Corsair Dreadnought, the Montezuma-II, came in and destroyed both Apocalypse single-handedly, while the Santa Fe just sat and watched, the Apocalypse begging them to help. William was both afraid and astonished. The Mako went down like a fly, the Montezuma eating through its hull with such ease. Scott had never seen something so... ''beautfiul'' before. He refused to eliminate the Corsair threat, knowing he wasn't a threat for him.

As the Santa Fe just stares at the wrecked Dreadnought ((It still took important damages from the Mako)), a group of Harvesters, a group William never heard of, approached them. The Commander of the Montezuma II claimed that they were vestige of an ancient civilization. Clara Baggins, Scientific leader of the expedition, seemed to know quite a bit about them. After a scan, the Harvesters requested to give them the entirety of the Santa Fe's scientific crew.

William was in a dilemna. Every single crewmember knew the risks they were taking when they joined the expedition, but they didn't deserve it. Especially not his sweet Clara... it was a rough decision. But, it was either 20 lives, or Hundreds of lives. He ordered to the security crew to capture every single scientists aboard, and to send them to their escape pod for the Harvesters. He held Clara against him. He'd let every others go. But not her.

He sends over the scientists, who are protesting, crying, squeezed in their tight shuttles. He knew it was the last time he'd see the scientists alive. He... was now a monster. Only the strongests would survive. And he was the one who decided who they were. He was all powerful. Chosen by the gods. He could control everyone's life. Something the commander of the Montezuma respected him for. William was lost. Was he really working for the LSF? Sympathizing with the Corsairs? Attacking rogue Core pilots? Collecting nomad samples for reasons that were unknown, even for him?

Or, was he just a normal inhabitant of the Omicrons and its curses?
