Comm ID - Generalisimo Miguel Sephardi, The Brotherhood, Elder in Exile of the Corsair Council

Target: Bretonian Buccaneers

Gents, I dont care who wants you where, when you insult me, outside of Crete, refuse to answer any of my questions, and dictate to me how things work in Corsair territory, you and your men will be hunted. The Brotherhood has needed a good hunt to shake off some of the cobwebs. Your ships will now become food for the lions.

Good Day.

To: Miguel the Corsair

Good evening to whoever it is threatening me and my fellow Bretonian ne'er-do-wells.

The Buccaneers have recently expanded into smuggling. As you well know. You're the one that's causing trouble for our smugglers, after all.

The whispers that have filtered back to me aren't casting your person, or your organisation in a particularly pleasant light. This is the chain of events, as I've received it:

1) Buccaneer convoy (to use the word convoy in the loosest sense; one transport, one escort) enters the Omicron Gamma system with a load of food. This is commonly known as a good will gesture. The OPG understand this sort of thing, having done similar things for us in the past. I'm unsure as to whether you Brotherhood people grasp such concepts - I've had no experience with you, so I wouldn't know.

2) Buccaneer convoy sells food on Planet Crete (a place I've heard from the OPG is in desperate need of said food) and picks up a load of Corsair Artifacts. This is commonly known as supporting the local economy. Again, I'm not sure if the Brotherhood knows about these tricky ideas, but again, the OPG seems to have the right idea.

3) A Brotherhood pilot (you, I believe) begins to harass the two goodwill gesturing, economy supporting Buccaneers, who are carrying the only major export the Corsairs can sell.

4) Assembled Corsairs open fire on the two goodwill gesturing, economy supporting Buccaneers, which I am told is a violation of Corsair laws. Correct me if I'm wrong, of course. The escort fighter was unfortunately damaged, and the transport fled back to Crete, where the crew was unfortunately provoked into killing several guards. There is then the equally unfortunate matter of Brotherhood ships attempting to bomb said transport and damaging the spaceport facilities in the process. Or so I am told.

To be frank, I'm not amused. Neither is the Captain, and neither are the Buccaneers involved. I'm fairly sure this Council of Elders that I've just recently heard of won't be best pleased either.

I've also received reassurances from the transport captain that he wasn't under the influence at the time. Of anything.

So, if you could provide some explanation as to why you repeatedly attempted to murder several Buccaneers, attacked a food and artifact shipment and bombed your own spaceport, I'd be greatful.

Lieutenant? Sounds like a low rank, call me back when your dad gets home so I can talk to someone in charge.

Elder? Sounds mighty old to me. I hear old people get Alzheimer's. Call me back when your son has put you to bed so I can talk to someone in full control of their mental capacities.

Nah, dont think I will, see you in space.

Uh, my only advice to you is make sure you find a tarpaulin or something that you can throw over your ship. If the Ancient spots it, he might start blowing holes in his own property again. And that would be unfortunately expensive for the Corsairs. Oh. It was Elder, not Ancient - my bad.

If you need extra space for the evac, I'll bring the Deceitful Denizen around with a load of food, as a goodwill gesture of course. Maybe I'll bring some Artifacts back to support the local economy.

Stay sharp.

So... This transmission channel is still alive? I thought that Corsair Miguel fella closed it? You reopen it or something? As for the Elder Ancients surprising me... Doubtful. Arthritis tends to make people slow and creaky. That means you can see them, hear them and usually smell them from quite a distance.

Out of my good nature, I'm being considerate by being careful to speak slowly. I'm not confusing you am I? I know it's oh-so-easy to get muddled up when you reach your senior years.

And have you been reading my email?
