Subject:License to Operate In Liberty

Greetings Admiral,

My name is Chris Redfield, and I am the CEO of Sirius Military Assets. As our Special Operations unit was recently disbanded, we have found ourselves out of governmental work, and Started our own Private Military Corporation, that operates Sirius wide. Recently Liberty drew our attention, as The.Joker and his associates have seemed to be causing quite the disruption to the Liberty Stock Market...but to the point as I know you are a curt man.

Our fleet has 2 tridente gunships as our flag ship vessels, and our largest base of firepower. These ships are trophys, retrofitted and overhauled, after we commandeered them from a band of murdering pirates. We are a lawful corporation only, and offer many services, but our biggest concern is to provide safe escort to traders traveling too and from liberty. When we first arrived in New York, we were informed by several Officers of the law, but most predominantly Jimmy Patterson of the [1st]Ft.Louisbourg, that our ships, (My own, and Billy.Coen's) were technically contraband, in liberty space. While our ships bear no unlawful weaponry, Jimmy Patterson kindly asked us to remove our ships from liberty space, after I had dropped off some of Joker's cohorts to him for interrogation.

I am cordially requesting to be able to legally fly our(Billy.Coen, and My own) trophy Tridente Gunships within Liberty space, with the sole intention of escorting traders, and defending them only if stopped or attacked. If you need to know more about our company please refer to this Ad in the Sirius Network.

For the company roster, please look here:

Our Advertisment has more detailed information as to services we offer, but as stated before, unless under official contract from Liberty Navy, Liberty Police Incorporated, or Liberty Security Force, we have no intention of hunting down pirates, or enforcing laws, our sole purpose is to ensure the steady flow of legal merchandise too and from liberty continues unhampered by the pirates, and other unlawful organizations that would seek to destroy the libertonian economy.

We have for the time being, moved our Tridente Gunships out of Liberty space, and are docked in Bretonia. I hope we can get a cordially speedy response, as our men are quite anxious to start escorts.

I respectfully await your response,

Signed,

Chris Redfield, Sirius Military Assets CEO

Your assistance with the Jokers is graciously accepted. However, the matter of the Tridentes is touchy. Please be aware that Commander Patterson was only fulfiling his duty as an officer of the Liberty Army and do not hold it against him. I am sure that he too is appreciative.

As you may also be aware, despite the vast size and superiority of the Liberty Naval fleet, we frequently have issues with the Outcast Tridentes. Like rats in holes, they hide from the cats, but when the cats think to take a nap, out they come to play.

I cannot speak for the Admiral, nor any of those directly underneath him, but I'd say we need some form of assurance that we will not find you turning on us when you find one of our ranking officers alone. A start may be explaining in greater detail how you obtained your ships. I am sure some of our engineers may also be interested in examining the blueprints, should you have access to them.

I am sure the Admiral or one of his direct subordinates will be in touch with you soon.

Regards,
- William von Darkmoor, Commander.

Greetings,

My Communique must have been garbled, as we have nothing but the utmost respect for Jimmy Patterson. As I have stated the Tridente's were commandeered in a Raid on a Pirate Camp. My team caught these murderer's by suprise, overwhelmed them, and managed to capture the 2 Gunboats in tact. As far blueprints, the Ships have been extensively overhauled, and the interiors barely resemble the patchworked Pirate vessels they once were.

As for assurances that we won't attack your officers, all I can do at this point is to Offer my word and my honor as a former Special Operations Team Leader. As has been stated, Sirius Military Assets, is a lawful corporation only. As per the request of your officers, we moved our Tridente's from liberty space. We are most definitely open to suggestion, short of getting rid of our trophy flag ships.

If there is anything else we can assist with, please let us know

-Chris Redfield

<start> ah redfeild hello again, as the commander has stated im grateful for your willingness to help and i was again only doing my duty admitably as weve said your gunships are touchy lawfully owned but a Pirate ship none the less untill your aproved youll have to stay out of new york at a bare minimum. if i can make a Tactical sugestion if only one SF CO to another mind you,id not employ those ships to much in public and possably restore them so they at least look like there original as designed selfs and id have secondary fire support ready (why risk trophys right) to use as a frontline combat ship,i was very thankful you both left without harm as in truth with your combined anticapitol weaponary ,suprisngly the battle would of been.. intresting

heres to hopeing we can have a few drinks at somepoint and mabye swap storys

Subject: RE:Trophy Ships

Greetings!

We understand that it is your duty to enforce the laws, and to watch out for the greater interest of Liberty, so no apologies are needed on your part. I hope those prisoners gave some decent information?

Too the point though. While most people with Trophy ships such as ours, the logical course of action would be to deck it out, then let it gather dust in one's docking bay, or storage unit. However, I am a firm believer that people should not cringe and cower before the murdering and pillaging pirates, rather they should cringe before us. For too long, Pirates have had it easy, scaring the civilians into paying, or fending off the Lawfuls in their planned ambushes, and cowardly strikes.

When we captured these fine vessels, we thought, "Well, these fine pieces of equipment, will be quite useful in the war against these savages!" Even though our ships may be trophy's, the scored hull, from near misses with fate, or death, should put more fear into the pirates who would attack our convoy, for with every new scar, our skills improve.

The ships are trophy's yes, but they are not meant to sit in some case, they are meant to be seen, and it is also meant to serve as a warning to the pirates. "We will no longer sit idly by, watching fair sirius burn in the pit of corruption and greed!"

But enough of such things. Our Tridente's shall remain outside of Liberty Space until we can get a License, or Permit from Admiral Hale. He has been quite busy. The rest of SMA has been authorized to take lawful contracts from Official Authorities, and also have been authorized to escort Law abiding convoys.

Respectfully,

Chris Redfield

Regarding your organisation's two Tridente gunboats:

Before we start, I have to say your request a bit of a coincidence, and already covered by the first draft of the new laws that are being written up for Liberty. As it's covered quite thoroughly already, and hence proven useful in practice as well as in theory, it will probably not change much at all, except for wording here and there.

Here is the relevant section in the new, yet-to-be-published document:

Quote:Small ships.

The possession of some small ships is illegal in Liberty. Small ships are classified as gunboats or anything below such as freighters and fighters. This most commonly applies to Freelancers and Mercenaries. The list is as follows:

Rheinland ships (e.g. Wraith).
Rheinland criminal ships (e.g. Arbeiter).
Outcast ships (e.g. Falcata).
Corsair ships (e.g. Gladiator).
Pirate ships (e.g. Barghest).
Lane Hacker ships (e.g. Bayonet).
Order ships (e.g. Nepthys).
Nomad ships.
GRN ships.

Pilots flying these must either exit the house of Liberty immediately by the route specified by the officer on duty or turn the ship in for research or destruction purposes at the nearest station able to provide a replacement ship. Any resistance will result in the ship being destroyed.

There are, however, exceptions. Address any plea for exceptions to this law to the Liberty Navy Mid-Command. The list of exceptions are as follows:

N/A

The Tridente is considered both a weapon and a symbol of the Outcasts.

Currently, as the Mid-Command do not know about this revision of the laws, it is taken upon the High Command to fill the gap until such a time that they are published.

This is an additional part of the document that is also applicable:

Quote:It may be necessary to pay out a refundable deposit to ensure the good intentions of those seeking exemption. This deposit will be refunded if the pilot in question announces, with reasons, that he or she no longer requires the agreement to be in place. For example, this could include the permanent relocation of a mercenary pilot flying a Wraith from Liberty to another house. The deposit will not be refunded if the agreement is broken in any way. For example, actions such as the pilot assaulting civilians in the house of Liberty or pilots of the Liberty forces anywhere during their operations.

It may seem unneccessary, but trust is a surprisingly scarce commodity when weaponry and those who wield them can be bought for coin. I'm not calling you a liar, but this is the fallback policy that was decided on, and will likely not change before the revision enters its publishing phase. Additionally, such a deposit might not be needed if your company had a long history of good deeds and a good reputation, but as you are relative newcomers, we've no history to go on.

Unfortunately, this matter has not been discussed by High Command yet, and we are unable to propose a sum for the deposit. The matter will come up when we are next all present for a meeting. This hasn't been for quite a while, though...

I would recommend that you wait until the final publishing of the revised laws, but time is money to you, so I can understand if you don't wish to wait.
