Off on some lonely Freeport, the number of which is lost to the infinite times the story's been retold, was a grumpy and middle-aged man. He sported a thick beard, and one he was proud of, he would tie it into thick braids and on the end of each was an old Norse runeword, for protection from "demons" and ill-intent. He was no mere stranger to the edge of colonized space, having gained his scars from fighting Nomads and pirates as he didn't let the inhumanity of humanity's worst corners corrupt his views. He was a strong, tall man who's years had brought grey colors into his beard and hair. With an utterly strange accent and a problem with most anyone who struck him as a 'backwards bending cardi-junkie', he resided on this lonely Freeport.
It was when he was present during a barfight, and guns were drawn and rumored someone shot his mug of ale out of his hand, that he got involved. Fighting like the Mountain Men of old, he bit and clawed like a great grizzly, and killed himself a table or two, and successfully ending the barfight for both sides, leaving broken arms and missing teeth in his wake as he grumbled his path out and to his old ship. It was there that he was scooped up by a talented Bounty Hunter, who'd seen him fight, and offered him his first job towards a "good fight". Rumors told of how that "good fight" consisted of things off the record, and things most men would only do if they were true devils. It wasn't long, as the rumors told, that Bounty Hunter found himself tossed in a cell, and by the very same man he'd hired.
Sporting an axe of fine metal on his side, like most would carry a long bayonet or knife, but indeed an axe, he left his mark on whoever chatters with him, usually a lingering one. Though these are only heresay and rumors generated by pirates and hunters who frequent Freeports. About a bear of a man who doesn't take guff from no one, who doesn't enjoy being bossed around, and mostly, is notorious for spitting when agitated.
