As the war in the Tau's progressed, it became evident that Bretonia was at a severe disadvantage to the considerably powerful empire of Kusari. Supplies fell short for the Bretonians, and soon Military Vehicles and Light Arms became an expensive, yet profitable. Groups set out towards Rhineland to seek the vehicles and towards Liberty for Light Arms.

Traders of Bretonia would join together to make the tough passage through independent systems (of Liberty) and the Omegas. These convoys were considerably more vulnerable but were large enough to scare off any unprepared pirates.

Eventually they formed their own company for ease of identification, and the ability to station escorts with a more reputable name. Thus, the Bretonia Merchants Guild was established. Though not truly a guild, but is operated similarly.

In 815A.S., Bretonia Merchants Guild faced bankruptcy. The group failed to secure low prices to make a profit on any sort of product. The Leader, Jade Taylor, sought out Bretonian Mining and Manufacturing to secure stations for their use. BMM agreed, at the expense of supplying their bases (Like the Tau-31 Gate Site).

Unfortunately, Jade Taylor never got to realize the important impact this would have on the Guild as she was killed a few months later in Omega-7 by a Corsair.

We will devote ourselves to improving the Imperialistic Reign of the Bretonian Empire. We plan to do this by trading in all assessable houses and locations. If we find that the Empire is further in jeopardy, we as pilots shall fight side by side our Armed Forces.
