Full Version: Milkshape 3d smooth and flat shaded views

I've been working on a ship model recently with milkshape3d the problem is that
as far as i know in the game the smooth shaded view will be shown. Any ideas how
to convert it to show the image i see on the flat shaded view as i see it in milkshape now? Other programs
can be mentioned too, but i would like to ask for a detailed explanation about solving the problem in those!

This is a flat-shading tutorial.
im pretty sure there is a method in ms3d, but since i never use that evil, vile, hateful and cursed program for anything except import export work (cuz i dont have an option for now) and stick to 3ds max, i dunno how it works. if you got 3ds, i could explain it there, cuz its pretty easy. in fact, im sure treewyrm wrote a short tutorial explaining the difference between soft and hard edges.
