This is the audio log of John Locke, Im recording this at the ALG station Hegoland. Up until recently Ive been living on a converted mining vessel, the Destiny, for the past decade. Im not sure what happened before that, I was an escort in a shipping convoy that was attacked and destroyed. I dont know by whom, but The Destiny picked up my escape pod and nursed me back to health. Since then Ive been suffering from Fugue Amnesia. The vessels Medical Officer, Alistair, says its most likely going to be a permanent state. But I havent quite given up on find out more about who I was, even if I dont regain my memory. And I suppose thats the base of the situation Im in now.
The Destiny is a decrypt vessel; repairs are an ongoing process and as a result get quite pricy. On my time there, I felt I had taken a lot, while returning very little. As such I decided I would collect some of the many bounties throughout the Sirius. I still remembered most of my flying skills from my days before the Destiny, and further the vessels owner and Captain Jack Archer was a Distinguished Pilot in the Rhienland Military and he taught me some more skills. The ship I was flying wouldnt cut it for collecting bounties, so I decided to buy one of the Bounty Hunters Guilds Ships. Just as I was to depart to close the deal on one, Jack confronted me. He had become a father like figure for me, and really, was the only person Id trusted since coming to the Destiny. We walked the vessel, talking about the bounties Id collect, and how difficult it would be when we arrived at a cargo bay he had restricted all access to. He quickly entered the access code and the doors slid open. Inside, was the most beautiful ship I had ever seen. It was a Wraith, a Rhienland Space Craft. I was astounded, everyone on board knew Jack was a former military pilot but for him to keep his Wraith, He must have been legendary.
I spent the next few weeks familiarizing myself with the ship; I quickly came to realize that some of the systems werent the stock parts. Many of the subsystems and display panels had been full replaced. The Shielding and life support systems seemed entirely new, also the weapons systems and targeting computer seemed to be integrated with the original. I thought nothing of it, after all if the ship was a write off it would have been no problem for him to keep it. He just replaced the systems privately, although the parts dont really seem civilian. Overall though, the ship was beautiful and thus I departed to meet my marks.
I headed for Sigma 13, ALG had hired me to take down some small time corsairs. It was less a bounty job, than a house cleaning mission. Either way I finished my job, quickly and made a small bonus from ALG. It was strange, being on my own, away from the Destiny. Aside from training sessions and the odd pirate repel, I was basically attached to that ship all the times. I saw this as an opportunity to explore, maybe find out more about who I was. I decided to wander down into Rhienland for a bit, just into Frankfurt, maybe look up some of Jacks old Contacts, I was sure hed want to hear from them. I hadnt gotten far when the trouble started. I made it to planet Holstien when the locals started acting hostile, they kept calling me a deserter. Some even fired a few shots in my direction, I was confused. I was headed back to Sigma 13 when I realized that it was because I was flying a Wraith. A Wraith Jack insisted I fly. A million questions flooded my head, why did Jack want me to fly this ship? Did he expect no one to notice? Why did Jack still have his Wraith? Why wouldnt the Military have wanted it back?
I decided it was time to head back to the Destiny, to get some answers from Jack. I activated the tracking beacon Engineer Davis had given me, it was suppose to show the location of the Destiny. The reading came back from Omicron Delta, it was an old place for the Destiny, but not unheard of, the medical officer had received his training from the Freeport there, maybe they were looking up a few of his friends. I made my way there, on the way I had to pass through Omicron Gamma, the Corsair home. Ive never been as nervous as I was, especially flying a Bounty Hunters IFF, and just collecting a bounty on some of their men. But I made it through with relative ease, as the Jump hole was still inside the nebula in the system. After a short jaunt through Omicron Kappa, I reached Omicron Delta and made my where to the Destiny was suppose to be. The beacon said it was tethered by the Gravity of the gas giant in the system; I loved coming here just for that planet. It was beautiful, and so massive. It reminded me of how insignificant we are in the universe. When I arrived there, the Destiny was nowhere to be found, I tractored in what was emitting the homing beacon, and it was the emitter although it looked as if it had been clear cut out of the Destiny. I started to Panic, what happened to them! A pirate attack maybe? But there was no other debris in the area, just the beacon. Had they been boarded? That seemed unlikely; I know the Destinys defenses. We had repelled or out ran many a pirate attack before, one more should have been a problem.
I decided to head to the Freeport, maybe someone there knew what had happened. To my misfortune a small Order fleet was stationed there, even a light battleship. I was screwed, I was sure theyd gun me down because of my IFF. I had no other option though I needed to find the Destiny; I decided to head to the docks. Before I could get too close, the Battleship fired a warning shot across the nose of my fighter. I cut my engines and shortly after was hailed.
Bounty Hunter, you are not welcome here I highly suggest you get out of here. They said, what was I going to do, I had no options, and I needed to know where the Destiny had gone. I will comply with your request, but I have a question, I paused and took in a deep breath have you detected a mining vessel by the name Destiny as of late, sir. I through the sir in for good measure, in hopes they wouldnt kill me. You dare ask us for information you scu, the transmission cut out I was reading for an attack, to flee when the a transmission came in it was a different voice Bounty Hunter, this is Commander Gray, why are you looking for this vessel is it a mark? it said, No sir, its my home, but someone seems to have removed its tracking beacon. I paused, I hoped theyd respond well. It seemed like forever before they responded. We saw your vessel here three days ago, bounty hunter, I recommend you take that information and leave. I sigh, the tension seemed to break and I started up the engines and headed away from the Freeport, it was the only chance I had to get out alive and I took it. Thank you sir, I wont forget you kindness. I said ecstatically, whatever hunter, the voice spat remember that before you make your next mark.
I decided I will.
I didnt know what to do anymore, I had no home from this life, no memories from the last, a fighter that would get me killed in two of the major houses, and a reputation that made all the pirates mad. Jack had been a Military Pilot, he flew Rhienlands colors. Maybe if I ran into someone he flew with, I could get a chance to explain, maybe even to see his records. If I found his records I might get to find out where he went. It was obvious what I had to do. I had to get arrested by a Military official.
Getting arrested was not something that was very high on my list of things I wanted to achieve. I had always followed the rules, played by the guilds hunting procedures. At least, for as long I can remember. I decided to wait for them; I got to Maniz and waited. A military official would be there soon, and sure enough they were. I held my breath and stood fast when they appeared on my scanners. It was a single fighter, another Wraith, he immediately hailed me. Warning me his orders where to shoot to kill, I got on the radio and transmitted back as fast as I could, explaining how I had attained the ship. And why I was at Maniz. Luckily, he was an open-minded person. He told me to report the ship to Rhienland Military High Command, and make the request for the military record. He also advised I leave Rhienland, and head to Hegoland and warned me that other military officials wont be so forgiving.
So thats where I am now, Im keeping this record to keep me sane. And so I can sort out the facts so I can figure this out, Im off to make those requests. Wish me luck. Ill update this long sooner or later; I just need to make some progress.

So, the military wants their ship back, because for some god-forsaken reason Jack demanded I take this hunk of JUNK.
*clanging sounds*
What am I going to do, I dont have a place to stay, I dont even really know how I am, and Im stuck here dammit!
I need to look at my options, come on John. You gotta think of something.
What do I need?
I need to keep moving, find out more. I need to find Jack, who I was too.
To do that, I need a ship. If I have a fighter, I can collect bounties. If I got a freighter, I could trade, might be a better option till I can find the Destiny.
Jack was heavily involved in Rhienland, he knows people there, or at least knew.
I guess I need to return this ship then
*Sounds of Someone flopping down in a chair can be heard, shortly after it sounds as if a glass of something is being poured*
Ahh, Rum my good ol friend. At least youll come with me. I suppose its off to Rhienland again then, maybe Ill look at a freighter, god Im going to hate this
