Kusari [クサリ] Naval Forces [海軍] Imperial Guard [廷臣]

The Imperial Guard are charged with the protection of the heavenly drops in the sea of space known as the core systems of Kusari. Over and above this, they are responsible for the protection and survival of the reigning sovereign, Emperor Jien Kogen, against any enemy and no matter the odds.

The men and women serving in the Imperial Guard are loyal to the Emperor above all else. Each willing to give their lives in service of the Emperor, they show no hesitation in battle. Armed with the finest snubcraft and warships in the fleet and tempered by recurring vicious attacks by the Blood Dragons and Golden Chrysanthemums, the Imperial Guard are known as the first to engage and the last to retreat.

There is no greater honor than to die in battle for a deity in being. But we do not fight to die for our selfish honor, we fight to honor the Emperor. He is not honored by our deaths, but by the countless slain before our swords. Those that would rip the life from the Emperor's body without a thought are those that must pass themselves. With every fibre of our own souls, we draw our katana through their flesh, piercing any resistance, overcoming any obstacle. Charging forward without a second thought, the battlecry of Kusari ringing in the ears of our foes; they must surely buckle before the relentlessness of his Imperial Majesty's finest warriors.[/indent]

The Imperial Guard select only the most dedicated, loyal and skilled amongst the Kusari Naval Forces. There is no rank requirement as a prerequisite for being a guardsman. Each candidate is selected, on recommendation from the officer in charge of the Imperial Guard, by the Emperor himself. The commissioning of any Imperial Guard capital ship, from Gunboat to Battleship, is subject to the Emperor's decision.
Upon any matter which the Emperor deems important enough to commit his time to, his decision is final and unquestionable.
