Max Hagen (aka Duster)

Hagen's biography is disputed. He claims that he was born as Max Pedersen at Freeport 2. He later adopted his mother's maiden name Hagen. At the age of 14 he joined a merchant crew as a cabin boy and worked in ship until his military service in 799. In 801, to fight in the war, the unemployed Hagen moved to New Berlin to join the military. In an interview in 805, he said, "Rheinland happened to be closer than any other house, I went to a RM recruiting office to enlist, but it wasn't as easy as I had thought. Only Rheinland citizens could serve. After six months of trying to join up, they finally accepted me on the condition that I became a naturalized Rheinlander... which I did." He didn't last long in the military. They had so a very strict program and Hagen couldn't addapt. He resigned in 804 and started to trade in his small ship. He wanted to see all the Sirius but something took him back to Bering everytime he was trying to explore further away.

With the Nomad War, a lot of data has been lost so no one can tell if what he says is right.

[font=Comic Sans Ms][color=#000000]Well, I decided to start this log because today is a new begining for me. I heard about this MercNet... looks like it will be easier to find contractors... or at least that's what I got from that announcement on the NeuralNet. Anyway, I talked to a guy and he sold me a ship for nothing... the ship is old and it's falling apart so I will need to make it better... For now, it's equipped only with two debilitator turrets but I contacted the Military. I hope they will sell me two new turrets. Oh and I took the guns from my old freighter and I modified them... anyway, lots of work... I can say they're experimental weapons now... like the ones I saw most are flying. Well, that's all for now... I will wait to get an answer from the Rheinland Navy and maybe tomorrow I can get to work...

[font=Comic Sans Ms][color=#000000] Looks like my request for the two turrets was accepted by the Rheinland Military. Also, I registered on the MercNet and I've been accepted there too. What a great day. I went to New York to search for some poor navy fighters, but it was a bit to crowded and I had to take an escort job for a PanGal yacht. He was doing a tour of all the houses in Sirius. I stayed with him till he passed Rheinland space on his way. He gave me 5.5 millions. Not bad for a first mission, eh?

Anyway... tomorrow is a busy day. I need to rest.

[font=Comic Sans Ms][color=#000000] Just came from a fight... alive. Now I understand the human nature and what's going on in Liberty, New York to be exact. About the first thing... I met thses guys that I recognized from the MercNet and I asked them to work together so we can have more chances against the liberty navy but they refused because I was considered competition. I bet they are kusarians... proud and stupid or brainless libertonians... Anyway I engaged two navy fighters without any support from the other mercs... hard fight and the comms were buzzing about something else that was happeneing in another part of the system... The capital ships were in the system, Duster detected some engine trails similar to the liberty navy capital ships but they were too busy with other things so they lost a fighter. One of those mercs managed to take him out before he said anything. In the end, I had to make a run for it back to Bering because that bastard, Hale appeared where we were fighting. And he didn't came with a fighter... He came with a ship filled with fighters, a carrier, just to be sure.

Now it's time for the second part of my sleep. I hope that the Freeport is well protected and no one will arrest me while sleeping.

[font=Comic Sans Ms][color=#000000]Ah... such a beautiful day. No, really... it's beautiful. When I woke up on that planet in Cortez... what's it's name... anyway... sun shining and I decided to take Duster out for a spin. We went in New York, where else but I didn't find any navy or bounty hunters to shoot at.

Anyway, I went to Texas and there I found a Liberty Siege Cruiser with no weapons, except the forward cannon. So I decided to humiliate Liberty by taking down, in a fighter, one of their cruisers. The bastard managed to dock when I dropped his shield... so no money for no kill but at least I'm proud I made a cruiser run away from Duster.

[font=Comic Sans Ms][color=#000000]Today I didn't feel so good. I got a severe stomachache. Must be from the forcemeat rolls in cabbage leaves that I ate. Anyway... I managed to get my two Firekiss turrets. Two ships from the RNC (RNC-Rommel, RNC-Nauen) helped me with that...

Ahhh, my stomach hurts. I need more pain killers.

[font=Comic Sans Ms][color=#000000]Today I bought two HEIMDALL from a business man in Orkney. When I was my ship still hinstalling them I realised that as those old cutter mines. I will have to search some of those new ones. I understood that nuclear mines are the best now. I hope they are not too expensive. I went to Kusari to look for some nuclear mines but I couldn't find any on private dealers so I had to search them on official KNF bases, or maybe come to an agreement to a pilot. I'll keep looking. One thing is certain. I'm not really loved in Kusari, especially by the Golden Chrysanthemums and the Blood Dragons. They tried to take me out. They lost the fight and I'll make some nice money when I surrender them to a prison station. I joined a patrol with this Capt. Hakkera Numajiri. Maybe he'll give me some nuclear mines. Anyway, tomorrow I'll have a busy day. Maybe I find some one that has a big bounty on his head. Wish me luck.

[font=Comic Sans Ms]Great day. I went to Liberty to search for some action. In Pennsylvania, a hacker stopped me to ask some questions... and to ask for a donation. Can you believe that? I told him to take his donation and stick it in his behind coz I won't pay a libertonian. Than he left...

He was too afraid to attack me, I'm sure. Anyway, after this little incident I went to New York and I found this navy boy in a bounty hunter heavy fighter. I engaged him and took him out. Here's the report I submited to MercNet.

[font=Comic Sans Ms]I went back to Bering after a long period in Liberty. I must say that I didn't expect to find anyone on the way but I did... A navy boy tried a new technology when he saw me but that didn't help at all. It was a nice explosion.

After that, nothing notable happened... oh, In Texas I saw a Rheinland battleship kicking the behind shields of a Liberty carrier. That's all, really...
