Ships Log: Planetoid Express
Location: Newcastle debris field

It had been 3 long months since that day. The day The Planetoid Express, an aging Pilgrim, captained by Fry McFly. -An intrepid space captain of 30 years- ran into Yarr, General Yarr. The Hog had been laying wait for him in Tau 23 near the Jump hole to Tau 29 Captain McFly had just jumped into the system from 29 when he saw him. Yarr perched in his Corsair gunboat had been waiting for any trader to come by. Yarr a deranged Xenophobe Zealot and a hero to the Kusarian authorities chimed over Planetoid's com.

Well well what have we here, you Junkers have been getting away with traveling through our space for far too long. If you don't want me to kill you it will cost you big. 10 million credits or you die

Fry looked at the twisted face of the lunatic Yarr on his communications screen. Yarr you are simply a thief, you talk about this space as being your own when you clearly don't own it. Your mind is twisted by your murderous killing spree. You no longer know what is right and what is wrong. I pity you

Captain McFly stared at the screen as Yarr's face began to twist even more. Sweat ran down his face and he was turning red. Then suddenly he let out a scream AAAARRRRrrr you will die like every Junker before you!

At that moment Planetoid was hit. Double barreled razor blasts point blank.

Fry commanded Return fire all turrets!!

Planetoid fought hard, a tough ships equipped to battle a gunboat with 11 turrets blazing at Yarr. Yarr was within and inch of his life -then like the coward that he is- he decided to run for itt. Captain McFly was glad that Yarr had gone, he had won the fight but just barely. The Planetoid Express had sustained much damage. The power core was solid but the hull looked like a piece of Swiss cheese. Most of the life support systems had failed. Planetoid would not be hauling much of anything from here on out.

Today.......

There was a tale of about a ship, a Shire owned by a Bretonia privateer named Curtis Smith. Curtis was a devil of a man. He drank in copious quantities and was responsible with his mates for taking the booty of many a Kusarian trader. Lavishly spending his loot on all means of debauchery. But his ship vanished in Newcastle without a trace never to be heard of again.

One thing about Junkers is that they know what's going on. Junkers have informants of all walks of life in the government, in business, and in the more seedy lines of work. Fry McFly got a tip, Border Worlds Exports was sending a salvage operation to recover the ship of the notorious Curtis Smith. One of their trading ships had found it and Bowex was going to get around to collecting the ship when they had time. But in the mean time that information was leaked to McFly of the Planetoid Express. Fry needed a new ship and the Shire might just fill the bill if he was lucky.

Planetoid came across the Shire, it looked perfect, like it was just sitting there waiting for them. Fry sent a boarding party to see what was going on. Scans indicated that the atmosphere in the Shire were not capable of sustaining human life, so the boarding party wore oxygen and pressure suits so they could inspect.

Upon entering the ship it was apparent that the life support system had completely failed. Bodies lay everywhere. But the ship appeared to be undamaged. The boarding party attempted to power up the ship but it was dead. Later it would be found that the entire power core had ruptured possibly from some encounter with another ship.

McFly ordered the Shire to be put in tow. He assessed that if the power core from Planetoid were transferred to the Shire then he would be in business. The only place he could get this work done reliably and discreetly was at Viegues Shipyard in Puerto Rico. A long journey ensued flying high above the lanes and only using jump holes.

At Viegues the resourceful Junker engineers capable of making anything work were able to do a core transplant from the Pilgrim into the Shire. The dead bodies were used for compost and the command center was sprayed with a fresh pine sent. Planetoid Express was reborn in the Shire. The serial numbers were sanded off and any indication that the ship belonged to the privateer (now compost) Curtis Smith were gone.

Fry McFly had a newly refurbished ship and could now continue doing business. All was good.
