After the Omega Pirates Guild fell apart, some of it's members realized the need for a similar force in the Corsair society. Grimly, Karolis and Vilkas, former OPG members, talked about it and persuaded a few more members to join them in the task of supplying the Empire with the goods it required. These Corsairs would base themselves on Etna base and besides using their pirating experience, they would also patrol the Outcast front. As their predecessors, the Black Sails became notorious for their ruthlessness and ability to strike, take what they could and disappear before help could come. If any unlucky patrols were in the area, they would get rid of them and take the pilots back to Corsair bases for interrogation. Not long after, the Sails gained many followers and new members requiring a bigger base to operate from. Cadiz, the home of the OPG with it's size and location near several important trade routes, became the new base of operations for the Black Sails. Etna is still used by the Black Sails as a forwarded outpost on the Outcast front in case the front gets hairy, and to smuggle products of it's organ harvesting facility since they are good at stealthy approach.

Ranks

Sovereign : The pirate Sovereign of the Omicrons is the most feared pirate terrorizing the convoys of the Omegas, Sigmas, Omicrons and other territories. He leads a large wing of pirates that fight to the death to make the Corsairs nation the biggest in Sirius. Any external relations and actions are consequences - directly or not of his wishes.

Buccaneers : The Buccaneers are like the right hands of the Sovereign, they are fear pilots that manage their part of the Black Sails wing. All internal affairs are attributed to them such as the recruitment, promotions, demotions and the punishments. Their count is limited to 2 for the time being, where each of them has control over one separate garrison at Cadiz or Etna.

Treasure Hunters : The most trusted Sailors are given the rank of Treasure Hunters. They are known as efficient pirates and excellent pilots. They are given the right to use some shared ships when their own doesn't fit the needs.

Sailors : The Sailors are the main parts of the guild. Without them, the guild would turn into bits in no times. Those pilots have already an average experience that make them still redoubtable for any trading corporations and even the elite outcasts pilots.

Slaves : When it comes to enter a such important guild, the rights we get at start are close to nothing. The Slaves earn their rights through hard tests that only few pilots survive. To add to that, the slaves, once in the guild, are given one month to turn their sails to the full black and become a Sailor. If they don't, they are hunted down and killed for they possess, albeit limited, inside information about the Black Sails guild.

Concerning the Slave rank :
Despite what the rank name indicates, the slaves are not servants of higher ranks (even if they CAN be issued commands to perform various tasks iRP - message deliveries etc). One can only be a Slave in the Black Sails for 4 weeks / 1 month (depending on his performance and/or mistakes). If they can not show sufficient roleplaying skill within this time, they are kicked out. Their roleplay capabilities will be judged by the leadership, be it in-game or from screenshots of player interactions they provide. Slaves use the |Sails tag as all other members, but we know which ones they are, and we observe them. If you fail to prove us you are worthy of somehow becoming a sailor, we will show you the door and slam your fingers in it afterward.

Naming convention

<Name>|Sails - No rank is to be displayed.

The shared ships are named differently following the pattern Sails.<Shipname> with the exception of the Black.Sails Osiris Flagship.

Ship Usage

Note: The Black Sails do not use capital ships! The only exception to this rule is the Black.Sails Osiris Flagship. We, as pirates, rely on fighters, bombers, freighters and transports. Gunboats are rarely used.

Every member has to have a fighter (Titan, Centurion or Gladiator) or a bomber (Praetorian). These are essential.
Using other ships with regards to ranks are as follows (each rank can, naturally, use ships the lower ranks can):

Slaves:
Titan Very Heavy Fighter
Gladiator Heavy Fighter
Pirate Transport
Praetorian Bomber
Correo Freighter
Centurion Heavy Fighter
Decurion Light Fighter
Legionnaire Light Fighter

Sailors:
Pirate Train
Imperator Gunboat

Treasure Hunters:
Slave Liner
Prison Liner
Access to shared ships.

Buccaneers and Sovereign:
Access to banks and armory.
Access to the Flagship
