Greetings, It is now time to begin the test proper. Aperture Laboratories has gathered genetic samples and information from across Sirius. We now have what we need to begin the experiment. What experiment you ask?
Anthromorphs. Cat creatures, furries, etcetera. Just about everyone has heard about them, and its a controversial subject. We believe the reason for all the controversy is that humans fear the unknown. We intend to combat that fear by making the unknown known.
Most of these creatures that we have interviewed seem timid and reluctant to take part in any in-depth study. This is understandable, thinking of the hardships they may have been forced to endure throughout their lives. It is largely unknown where or how these creatures came to be and how they developed, but our hope is to shed light on that.
Thanks to generous donations of genetic data and other forms of support from various organizations (most notably the Sirius red cross) we now have the means to create more of these creatures under controlled and closely monitored circumstances.
We expect there will be opposition to this, but rest assured that the well being of everyone involved will be a high priority. In order to make this as non-controversial as we can, we will NOT be using infant or embryonic subjects, who have no opportunity to refuse participation.
The plan is this: We will take six VOLUNTEERS who are sound in mind and in health, and alter their genetic structure to become something altogether new. The result will be a true hybrid between human, and the non-human DNA sample of the volunteer's choosing. The volunteers will need to be screened, so a short application form will be required in order to ensure that they are not forced into this, and that they are of sound mind.
There will of course be benefits for those who volunteer. Aperture Science will pay off ALL of your debts, and ensure that you and your family are well looked after financially and medically. Permanent lodging will be provided on board the Borealis should that be your desire, either way your living expenses will be covered FOR LIFE. Your quality of life will very likely improve, and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are not only helping to improve the lives of others like you, but also taking a massive step forward for science and humanity.
Please consider this offer carefully. An example form will be posted below, and thank you for helping us help you help us all.
VOLUNTEER FORM:
Our first of six volunteers has already been chosen. She is one of our staff and her form will be put here as an example.
Note: No further test subjects required. Use the enrichment center form instead to apply as a doctor or nurse.
Name: Amanda "Willow" Gates
Age: 37
Place of Birth: Planet Denver, Colorado system
Education: Aperture Labs. degree in horticulture
Work experience: 11 years working for Aperture Science, currently assistant to the head of the genetics department.
Genetic sample chosen: Calonyction aculeatum, "Moonflower"
Reasons for volunteering: I have made this project my life's work, it seems only fitting that I be the first to carry it out. This is a once in ten lifetimes opportunity, before I could only dream of what our race may some day become... I never imagined that I could one day be so intimately part of it.
A note to any hoping to stop this, or hinder it in anyway: You cannot stop scientific progress, no matter who or what you are.
