The Brigands, former a union of loosely affiliated criminals and other as 'antisocial' marked elements, attracted many young men and women by their aura of being like the mediaevel Robin Hood's, many others had been born into the structure of the alltime growing Brigands, leading to various 'clans' that admittedly coorperated with each other, but nevertheless operated for their own advantage.

But they began to change with the days as the Marne rebellion started in 794A.S. (710A.G.S.) and after the fights had been over, they had formed into a strictly organized group of numerous well trained and highly skilled people, that is to be reckoned with everytime.

--- --- ---

This development is mainly owed to one person, a young man of the name Christian Aumont, that took at the age of just 16 care on the supplying of Brigand and other 'rebellious' forces during the last 4 years of the Marne 'uprising' and its final liberation in 800/801A.S (716/717A.G.S). Passing thousands of shipments throught the Royal lines, bypassing with countless ships full of
firearms and the respective ammunitions the embargo, the profit the Brigands made out of this war had been immense. New routes had been established, new smuggling tactics had been introduced and most important over all, more people from the enemy's side had been enlisted due to the massive propaganda Aumont let his men work out to fight for the Brigands cause, in most cases just for the profit itself the Brigands had to offer.
Medics, engineers, specialists for electronics, shipbuilders, construction workers… the ranks of the Brigands filled with highly educated people from all over Gallia.
Also did they switch during the middle of 798A.S (714A.G.S.) from pure and sole supplying of materials to an actual active use of their widespreaded intelligence network of informants and collaborates, basicly giving away the positions and flying routes of the lately arrived Royal transports that had been designated as reinforcements for the Crown's last strike against the
'dissidents' on planet Marne; allowing the Council by that to move their own forces to strategical superior positions near planet Sezanna and Reims Station in time and to hold back the Royal forces and their supplies for the Gallic ground troops. Aumont, that young man that had been given the opportunity and now had the goal of uniting the 'clans' and to bring the Brigands to a former unknown glory, used the people around him wisely to constantly build up an organized, nearly with military precision striking small fleet; splitted into guard and operation fighters, while letting a great deal of his men behind as regular warriors to constantly fill the accounts of the Brigands with what they deemed worthy for any use. The War between the Council and the Royal forces was far from being over, and he knew, that with considered actions, he could expand the Brigands influence within and over the other gallian organizations to a never before seen nor even imagined extent.
The year of 804A.S (720A.G.S.) gave him this chance, a chance to proof again that he was the one that would be the only
person, that could let the Brigands strike with an awe-inspiring precision against those opposing their own interests.
As Council was trapped by the Royal forces during their preperations for the attack on Lorraine, and needed to retreat from the advancing forces to Marne, his brave men fought along with their Maquis allies exceedingly well organized, keeping the Crown's forces away from the possibility of a retreat and ensuring this way the victory of the Council after an enduring battle over several hours.
The Brigands still provided over the following years the Council with valuable informations about the
positions and the patrolling routes of the Royal forces, this time mostly reported in the Burgundy system due to the Councils own plans to break through the Crown's lines through to Languedoc in a final move.
Relocation of the Councils High Command from Macon in Burgundy to Marne in Champagne challenged the Brigands smuggler wing to a nearly not managable extent, but again, with rational restructuring and the introduction of a heavier transport craft for regular use, the l’Ane, Aumont had enabled the Brigands to keep up with the needs of the Council forces and the amounts of commodities that they asked to be relocated. Dauphine was the next planned step by High Command of the Council, a plan that opened more great opportunites for the Brigands to settle their position as the main force of underhanded supply and
information sharing.

Aumont decided, though being asked, not to interfere into the Dauphine fights more as with supplying intel by his men and with refilling the Council and Maquis ships and stations with everything what they might ask for. A decision which turned out was the right one, as Council forces had been, after a short step forward at Bourgon-Jallieu, heavily defeated in the area of Gab
station. Instead, he argued with with the Maquis and High Command about moving the remained forces into the outer regions of Dauphine to where Council forces could been relocated to stike against Languedoc. For his Brigands was the order given to
assist in the construction of several storage depots and smaller repair facilities to aid the Council forces near the Jump Gate path between Dauphine and Languedoc. Ammunitions and electronic parts of an immense amount were needed, and this
'contract' was just a new chance for the Brigands to establish and maintain their superior position within the 'underground' of Gallia. No other groups, no other men could do what his Brigands had been able to; providing support vessels and transports and to spare the crews for them to support the war efforts of the Council in a proper way. With the year 812A.S. (728A.G.S), the Brigand organization had raised to completely monopolistic status.

With the Councils move into Languedoc, the Brigands, now under the fully, unquestioned lead of Aumont, rallied their forces near Narbonne installation in the Lozere Fields, to take again a step back from the war that brought so much havoc over Gallia and so much money in the accounts of the Brigands.
Their number had been growing during the whole move from Champagne down to Languedoc, and new men needed to be
trained, outfitted and their ships equipped accordingly.
816A.S. (732A.G.S) the Brigands, asked for assistance by the Maquis, moved out for a last time to strike in open battles against the Royal forces to aid the cause of the Council not just with supply-runs. An array of brutal and merciless enforced attacks against civilian convoys was organized, forcing the Royal Navy to relocate forces away from Languedoc to secure their own supply lines, giving the Council the needed possibility to take a breath in that still lasting fight for their way out of Gallia's
isolation.
After a quick strike-and-run, where the Brigands sustainably gained more knowledge about showing-up
unseen, catching and halting the target and to leave into various clouds and asteroid fields as fast as they came out of those, Aumont concentrated Brigands efforts again on the supplying of the Councils lines, this time with aiding war-material and
ammunitions for the soldiers at planet Quillan untill 817A.S (733A.G.S.).
After the last Royal forces had surrendered there, Aumont decided to cut the assistance for the Council
untill further evidence that it was needed to risk more of his men, of whom many at this point had still be new to the Brigands group and not yet being trained accordingly.
Due to interferences within the Brigands itself, mainly between Aumont, now known as Liberateur of Gallia, and his Vengeurs, both trusted companions of him over periods and through most of the changes and
difficulties, a triumvirat was formed to lead the Free Brigands.
Sadly for the movement of the Free Brigands, Chirstian Aumont recently vanished and left them without a strong leader.
Due to this, the Brigands began again to fall into pieces.
Nowadays, the triumvirat is composed of the three different leaders of the Free Brigands of Gallia.

Over the last three centuries the Brigands, being involved in nearly every illigal activity within the Gallic
borders and the major supplier of black market arms and ammunitions, expanded in their operations from simple smuggling and intercepting at the various lanes over activily searching for valuable targets to the underhanded support in the fight against the Royal forces as long those encounters helped to ensure enforcing their own monopoly.During 'Marne uprising' the Brigands gained a even more superior position within the criminal groups in Gallia.
With their key allies being the Unione Corse, they firmly control all black markets in Gallic space, while
rumors state that three quarter of those markets belong to the Brigands; a monopoly that is known to be ruthlessly enforced and defended.

Royal Navy's occupation with the Council allowed to develop in nearly every aspect of their organization and due to the absence of government crafts, the Brigands had been able to nearly openly operate their zones and as it's rumored tripled the amount of money gained out of their smuggling operations. Influct of money and the fact, that the Brigands had been given time to
evolve steadily, their engineers recently came up with a new design for a bomber type class vessel, as also with a redone
concept for their own Gunboat.
Nowadays pilots are trained for direct encounters with the Royal Police and Navy forces, as the Brigands
turned back to their once stated ideal of 'robbing the rich and giving the poor', while there is to be
mentioned, that those 'poor' they refer to are most likely themselves. Robbing smaller companies, as latlely could be seen, is now a task of the Aspirants to the Brigands, those that wish to be part of the organization, while the more experienced pilots strike against the larger corporation convoys and their Royal protectors escorting them.
The romantic aura Brigands once spreaded throughout Gallia is on the uprising again and civilians start to recognize that the goods and commodities the Council is providing them with are organized and savely
shipped to them by the Brigands, while the Council itself just takes care of filling the cheques. In the early past, diplomatic
relations dropped between those groups, and every assistance that isnt paid wont be given by the Brigands.

Narbonne Base, Languedoc
[Image: brigandnarbonne.png]

Narbonne is an asteroid base located in the center of the Lozere Fields. Established more than two hundred years ago and
providing shelter for Brigand patrols from nearby Dauphine and even from Burgundy, the Narbonne Base started operating long before the system of Gallic Trade Lanes and Jump Gates reached Languedoc. During the Second Gallic War, the base had served as an important transition point fot the Council and Maquis fighters heading to attack Gallic Navy forces near Nimes and Remoulins. The 'Cafe del Flore' is located on this base.

Valence Base, Dauphine
[Image: brigandvalence.png]

Valence was build by Gallic Brigands inside a hollow rock asteroid. While providing backup for usual Brigand activities in the system, it is also used as a transit point for Council supplies coming to Langueadoc.

Montbard Base, Burgundy
[Image: brigandmontbard.png]

Montbard was build inside a large asteroid in the center of Morvan Asteroid Field. The base is mainly populated by Gallic
Brigands along with their Maquis allies. The 'Cafe del Mar' is located on that base.

Epernay Station, Champagne

A well established base of the Gallic Brigands in the central part of the Ardennes Asteroid Field.

Planet Marne, Champagne
[Image: brigandmarne.png]

Due to their effort during the 'Liberation of Marne', Brigands maintain a Docking installation there. Many men and women are recruited from here, nearly everyone that is interested in being part of the Brigand movement comes first to Marne. Also are every supplies designated for the Council dropped off here by the Brigands; from where those materials are given to the
Council people, who deliver it then themselves to the needed locations.

- Aspirant -- Recruit
- Brigand -- Brigand
- Brigadier – Veteran Brigand
- Vengeur (Avenger) -- 2nd's in Command
- Commandant -- Leader

- Factionnaire (Guard/Sentry) -- Special Forces rank

Triumvirat
The members of the Triumvirat are the two Vengeurs and the Commandant.
Each of these persons has other responisbilities.
While the Commandant is representing the Brigands of the Gallic core systems, the Vengeurs are representing the Sirrian operations and the Gallic Borderworlds.
However, beeing the Vengeur for Sirius doesn't mean much more power than a normal Brigadier has, as naturally most decisions concerning Sirius have to be made by a majority vote at this early time of contact with the other colonies.

Best change it to "few Sirian groups"

other than that, looks good. best of luck to ye, though you'll excuse me if I root for my own brigand faction.
Ups, they slipped past me it seems. Corrected et merci!
Always good to see another group profiting under the GRN's noses in gallia, look forward to seeing your guys in game, you have the La brises support.
Looks great! Much luck with it.
Ye, looks awesome. I wish you guys only the best in future.
I'm surprised this wasn't made official before. It looks nice, it serves a purpose, and it needs to be made official. What more is there to say?
Yes! Finally some real brigands to fly with! Cant wait to see you official!
