The recent roll call has dwindled our numbers. It has cut our member count by over half, down from 15 to 7. I fear that we'll lose official status but remain optimistic that we will not. With recent contributions from Oldum which has allowed us to build up a supply of codenames for our members, and with his work on the trade routes and wiki page aswell, I would hate to see these contributions turn out to be pointless endeavours. However, I am in dept to Oldum for his determination and hard work.

But now is a good time to put forward changes I hope to implement immediately. These will affect the behaviour and attitude of officers from now on, and I hope it will make us diverse from the Military.

The first of these changes is a new list of priorities. There will be three main priorities from now on:
  • Escort as many traders as possible safely through Rheinland space.
  • Search and destroy all ships that have broken the embargo, no matter what they are doing at the time.
  • Deal with small numbers of unlawful forces and assist the Rheinwehr whenever possible against larger threats (e.g. Libertonians and large concentrations of unlawfuls such as Hessians and others).
All three of these new priorities are important, and I'm going to go through them now.

The first priority is to escort the traders and miners in safety. We will stick to a transport like glue until it reaches a destination in Rheinland or moves out of our jurisdiction. Whether the transport likes it or not. We have a duty to protect them so we will protect them. We will of course ask, and if they accept we'll coordinate a security screen where we move ahead and check the route or something. If not, then we'll simply stick behind them until they dock in Rheinland or leave our borders.

The second priority is basically saying that we've had enough of the embargo breakers. We'll be patrolling the border with ships at the jump gates to Bering and Hudson and the jump hole to Bering (enough smugglers have shown us where it is). If we see any embargo breakers, we will of course attempt to stop them at the time. If we can not stop them at the time their names will be noted down, and if that ship is seen again anywhere in Rheinland it will be arrested or destroyed. We do not care what it is doing when we arrest it. All we care about is that it's broken the law already.

The third priority is one that places more power with the Military when it comes to the destruction of hostile presences in Rheinland space. We're not going to get involved in large-scale battles unless the assistance is requested. We're only going to respond to the smaller variety, like one or two pirating a trade lane or something. Anything more and we simply call in the Military and assist them when they bring in the big guns. If the Military doesn't respond then we'll simply sit above the plain and instruct all ships to dock or risk destruction. If neither the Military or Polizei are around then I guess they unlawfuls will probably get bored and leave as they normally do.

This could be changed if we receive any more members. We could take bigger risks. But not right now.

Leave any comments here, whether good or bad. Thank you.

I always thought it was silly that the RM claimed full ownership of the Wraiths, and the RFP claimed full ownership of the Mjolnir and Phantom.

People like flying VHFs more than any other kind, and one thing I find puts alot of people off Police factions is the fact they don't use VHFs so much.

When most of Sirius uses VHFs, why are the police always outgunned and overpowered because it seems to be some kind of rule to use light craft.

Police factions seem to be the only faction save the SCRA that actually deploy Light Fighters alot.#

There are advantages to all three of the above craft, perhaps the RM and RFP should learn to share their advantageous tech, no matter how proud you are.
Not true, you can use the Mjolnir or the Eagle later.

But the Mjolnir is torn apart by any fighter with a brain, and it functions more like a bomber.

The Eagle is mediocre compared to superior Rheinland Wraiths.

It's not about the tech. We use Wraiths anyway, so long as the character has a Military background or after enough promotions. And any RM guys can use a Phantom or Mjolnir if they ask for them. The Mjolnir is a fine ship and I much prefer it to the Wraith. But guess what? I see Military indies in Mjolnirs without permission from us. So there's another special for us out the window.

This change is because we need it to try and be different from the Military by focusing on what the Polizei should actually be doing. Not hunting pirates to pew pew, but protecting the traders with escorts and enforcing the embargo.
Okay, I read something Malexa wrote up about each side never using each other's stuff.

I guess it was either out of date or I just plain read it wrong.

Quote:The Rheinland Federal Police is an impressively well-equipped organisation acting as the primary security force in Rheinland space.

I still think for every three non-Wraith ships, one Wraith is a sensible investment.

It's probably neither. I probably just missed it or something. But we rarely use Wraiths anyway, as most of our members use the Mjolnir.

If we use so many Wraiths then how are we different from the Military?

Nevermind... I don't care anyways...
Fine plan. Just one, small quibble....the Bering jump hole is right in the middle of an asteroid field. Knowing where it is, and camping it goes against the RM policies of well, ignorance. Yes...the police ain't the military, but when you boys go venturing into said field, who's gonna bail your phantoms and SHF's out?
