Sergeant,

As much as you want to bring this man to justice, I'll ask you to refrain from transmitting on these channels, this is an Internal Affairs issue and I'm not about to let my better judgement get soured by either side, I've read the report and I'm investigating into this. Have some patience lad.

Mister Jethro,

The information I've gotten was from the Colonial Republic itself, and the lass assured me that she checked the archives before responding to my transmission. Either this document you presented is invalid, you've had fabricated material to supposedly support your claim, or she over-looked this information. All three scenario's are possibilities.

Mr Lawson,
I will remain on Waterloo till this is settled, and I will make myself available for any questioning, but on the advise of my company, I will be leaving the discussion up to my attorney Mr. Riche.

Good day.
Mister Lawson,

I am transmitting to you appropriate comm access codes to the channel in question, so you can confirm directly with Neural Net that the source of the transmission is both valid and has not been tampered with.

While I am sure that the "Lass" in question did check her files, perhaps there was a clerical error on the side of the TAU-44 administration, I understand they recently had elections, and the new administration hasn't gotten all of its ducks in a row yet.

Either way, I am still eagerly awaiting your answers to my questions regarding the status of Bretonian assets in question.

I would also request that you inform me as to what SRD stands for, I have filed the corresponding Access To Information files with the Bretonian Home Office.

Thank you, in advance sir

and again, God Save the Queen

Seems I've over looked a transmission that came through seconds ago.

Mister Riche,

Planet Harris and the Battleship MacDuff are indeed in Bretonian sovereign space, as is the Tau-31 gate construction site, however you must be aware that we face a war in the Tau's as well as on the home front, simple transports to and from Bretonian space can and most likely will be intercepted by Kusari patrols. However, your client could have possibly been smuggling gold to Kusari space. As the Colonial Republic weren't aware of any contracts, as I said in my last transmission, made between the IND and the Republic.

Now to answer your final question, according to the report published to the New Scotland Yards by Sergeant Hone, Mister Jethro refused to comply to orders of Sergeant, which I've reviewed both recordings personally, and I'll have to say the refusal of complying with the orders are there, yet the Sergeant himself should've personally escorted Mister Jethro's ship to New London. In which case, the Sergeant most likely thought your client was making an attempt to flee from the scene. All I have are the logs on which to go off of.

As for what the SRD means, they're a trade interdiction wing of the Bretonian Police Authority, they specialize in stopping smugglers and traders as well as giving their support against foreign capital ship threats.

Mister Jethro,

We'll find a conclusion to this little situation so you can be back in the air.

Mister Lawson,

Strange SRD comes out on my datapads as being Special Response Division, which, as far as I am aware, is a SWAT type entity... naturally better trained being Bretonian... but none the less, an armed response team for dangerous criminal threats, right?

As you, yourself have pointed out, the Officer's actions in this affair was to resort to excessive force, destroying a ship instead of escorting it back to New London, where I point out, that Vice President Jethro is at this very moment, again confirming his intention to comply with the law in this matter.

As for the destination of the Gold Shipment, we must wait for a public response from the TAU-44 and CR administrations to clarify the status of the trade agreements. Which I know will be confirmed, and once they are, my client will be fully vindicated.

Sir, I humbly beg your indulgence, that you reprimand the Officer in Question for his usage of Excessive Force, I am confident that a man of such a Stirling reputation as yours, will do the right thing and hold the officer accountable for his actions.

Yours Faithfully,

Douglas Riche
Mister Lawson,

It appears my secretary is not as lax in retrieving paperwork, she recieved this directly from a member of the BPA.

Quote:SRD vessels are only to be used when there is a dire emergency or the threat of attack from enemy capital ships when BAF support is inadequate or not present.

The SRD is tasked to patrol the Dublin gold fields to protect BMM ships and halt any smugglers coming through.

Formed by former Commissioner Joshua Cooper, the CCD was formed to combat the slew of independent traders and smugglers which saw (and still see) the conflict as an opportunity for unconscionable money-making by breaking through the Tau-31-blockade. The CCD, entirely focused on cargo control, consists of Armoured Transports and Percherons, able to seize contraband and oppose violent smugglers.

So I would like to ask, why was a special operations SAS division vessel, used to intercept an IND vessel? This appears clearly outside of mandate, and... no wonder the man opened fire. He is trained and tasked to do just that in a crisis. Shoot first, and deal with the fall out later... well sir, this is the fall out, and it is later.

Can I inquire as to what the Bretonian Government intends to do about this?

God Save the Queen,

Douglas Riche

The information you've collected is indeed correct. The SRD is responsible for as it shows patrolling Dublin gold field to protect BMM mining ships and halt any smugglers coming through.

Sergeant Hone intercepted a gold shipment leaving Bretonian space via Edinburgh, as far as I'm aware, this justifies the use of the SRD, and this maybe the fallout, yet I'm personally dealing with it. So, I see no reason to charge Sergeant Hone with misconduct at this time when his vessel was tasked with what it was used for.

The assumption Sergeant Hone took was that your client was a smuggler. An easy thing to mistake from time-to-time in these dark times.

Dear Sirs,

I think we should consult with ex-Chief Commissioner Doug Palmer, the man tasked with building the SRD and an expert into their role and training, to give an experts opinion on the SRD's training, role, and ultimate purpose.

I am keying in his access code now, and granting him clearance to the channel.

Thank you sirs,

Douglas Riche
Addendum:

Patrolling Dublin, and Patrolling Edinburgh are two very separate mandates.

The wording of your mandate is very clear, it states that the pilot should patrol in Dublin and halt smuggling going through. My client was no where near Dublin, he went to Leeds, where he purchased the Gold.

A mistake... yes I will say there was a mistake made. Thank you for conceding that much.

Douglas Riche
Just to clarify some facts.

My ship took on Refined Gold at Graves station in Dublin, then proceeded to the Edinburgh jumphole and then made way to the Tau31 jumphole at which point I stopped and waited for the Officer who asked me to stop from across the system.
