It started as a ground based opeation when the city of Manhattan started to form. Operationg out of a wharehouse and soon upgrading to a 3 building complex in the downtown core. Warehouse, offices, and market.
It was started by some merchants, scavangers and traders who came across some items their joruneys.
The items varied in size and appearence. As well as price. The flea market sells legal and illegal stuff. But mostly legal stuff. From computers to personal defense to clothing. The flea market has lots
The Flea Market started selling ship arments when a Mercenary came by with some scavanged weapons which he got off of some old ships or in combat off old weacks. The value of ship arments varied from a price of a computer to a price of a Rhino space freighter. The Flea Market saw how much this could benifit them and began hiring mercs and other peoples to scavenge or hunt items and arments. What they found was great. Varrying from missile launchers to laser arments. all in high value.
After 10 years they funded a project to bring the Flea market into orbit.
The ship was crewed by 100 staff and could hold 1000 people at a time and 4 ships on the underbelly. Full with washrooms, food courts, bars and even ship clamps. The project was completed ahead of schedual and was launched 3 years ahead of the expected launch date pleasing many.
In oribit the NY FM can sell to many parties without them having to land on the planet and going into the shop.
The orbital Flea Market is a great sucess. Servicing many each day.
