IDENTIFICATION: Colonel Jack Aubrey, Cerberus.
SOURCE: High Peak Villa, Planet Gran Canaria.
SUBJECT: Cooperation between Cerberus and Wedjat

Dear Eriksson,

A lot of time has passed since we last heard from eachother, earlier cooperation between our two organizations proved itself rather relevant in the survival of the two, and I'm willing to extend this cooperation to a next step. The thing is, Eriksson, that the world around us is evolving, and we need to evolve with it if we want to survive, the survival of our two organizations is at this hour, the last hope of humanity.

House governments deny the existance of Nomads, of The Phantoms and of other external threats. Should I mention the bombardment of Cambridge, done by the Phantoms, or the Nomad War? Or maybe a more recent and dangerous enemy, the descendants of those who defeated the Alliance back on Sol, the Coalition. Cooperation is necessary, to a certain degree.

I'm well aware of the intricate sistem on which Wedjat gathers vital intelligence regarding our enemies, our allies, and about the general state of things everyday. And I think that you are well aware of what is going on Planet Wichita, in Kansas.

We have recently established a base on the planet's surface, located in the Lanus Archipelago, Outpost X58. The whole structure is dedicated in the research and experimentation of new weapon sistems, of xenoarcheology and on other aspects of what our scientists call, evolution. For further informations regarding the whole complex, feel free to download and read the following file, contained in our database.

Research Outpost X-58, also known as OX-58, is one of the largest and probably the only structure on Planet Wichita, a lone planet in the lone border world of Kansas. The purpose of the whole complex is yet unknown, and the actual location is unknown to many. Several attempts to reveal the real position of the base by the Liberty Security Force, despite the low population of the base, ended tragically for the scouts.

The complex is a pure architectural marvel, in which unknown experiments, projects and other interesting facts are the job of a group of scientists devoted to Cerberus.

After the initial exploration of the planet's surface, done by Joe Daniels, Cerberus made any effort to establish a base on the surface of the planet. Eventually the base was constructed along the equatorial line, in the Lanus archipelago.

On January 28, 819 A.S, Cerberus evacuated all 220 residents and suspended all operations as category five Super Typhoon Calypso headed toward the Lanus archipelago. By January 31, the southwestern eyewall of the storm passed over the island, with winds well over 185 miles per hour, driving a twenty feet storm surge and waves directly on the main islands of Lanus, inflicting major damage. A Cerberus assessment and repair team returned to the island in February the 1st 819 A.S and restored limited function to the spaceport and facilities leading ultimately to a full return to normal operations. Apparently, due to the height of the coastline in which OX-58 was built, the whole complex didn't suffered from the destructive power of the typhoon.

[color=#C0C0C0]The Lanus Archipelago
The Lanus Archipelago, sometimes called the Lanus Islands, is an archipelago of four major islands, several atolls, numerous smaller islets, and undersea seamounts in the New Carribean Sea, extending some 1.500 miles from the island of Aite in the south to northernmost Ture atoll. Recent discoveries made by the famous geologist Richard Burke, suspected to be working for Cerberus, revealed that the archipelago was formed after an intense volcanic activity. The group of islands, comprised of the islands of Aite, Pelelieu and Make, are situated towards the equatorial line, in the New Carribean Sea. The name in fact is up to the challenge, due to the crystalline waters, the pleasant weather and the average temperature, resembling to the famous Carribean Sea, back on Earth.

The research structure is located somewhere on the largest island of the archipelago, the Aite Island. The coastline is well guarded by frequent patrols of Cerberus guardsmen, assault boats scouting the sea and the anti aircraft batteries placed on the coastline ridge. The complex is situated deep within the jungle that stretches from the coastline to the inner area of the island, a thick and dangerous jungle in which many unwary people perished to quick sand or to the creatures of it. Towards the nortwestern part of the island, several IPBM launch sites were constructed, in order to avoid an orbital bombardment of the complex by the Liberty Security Force.

Also worth of note is the second biggest island in the archipelago, Pelelieu Island, connected to Aite by frequent on sea transports and helicopters. The island is inhabited by the local garrison of scientists and agents devoted to Cerberus. A spaceport is available on the island, allowing even gunboat class vessels to dock, assorted services are limited.

The last island, known to house a Cerberus installation, is the small island of Thorn. Recent surveys done by Richard Broke managed to discover notable amounts of gold, platinum and uranium on the island. The island is known to house a powerful array, capable to encrypt and send sensible data towards the signal repeaters across Sirius.

A small depot, housing military equipment is situated on the small atoll of Lorum. A small structure was constructed on the island, acting as the local headquarters.

[color=#C0C0C0]The LNS Midway
The wreck of the Liberty Navy cruiser class vessel, the Midway, can be found in the shallow waters around the Lanus Archipelago. The vessel was sunk after that a tactical IPBM was launched, to avoid an orbital bombardment of the base. Despite the vain attempts of its crew to avoid entry in the atmosphere of Planet Wichita, they eventually managed to find the location of the complex. But the crew perished because of the crash before they could report back. No survivors were ever found.

I'm thus allowing a small team of Wedjat to hold a small garrison within Outpost X58, helping the local research team with the willpower of your agents. Some zones around the complex are still restricted, and I'm forced to warn you, that entering in these zones is highly forbidden.

Signed,
Jack Aubrey
