Translated roughly to English, the Ocean View Cafe. What better name for a place to eat on Planet Nevers? The Café was an upscale place, catering to the wealthy and privileged. It had its share of regulars and the food was pretty good. As long as you stayed away from the veal, of course. Police, Military, Corporate, Civilian - all sorts came and went through the doors, and information flowed almost as freely. You'd be surprised what a salmon steak and a good vintage of wine can do to the tongue.

Nothing is ever as it seems, of course. Owned by the Start Nanobots Familia and having ties to the local bosses, the Café often served a secondary purpose, and that was one of backdoor deals and shady transactions. Honor was still a currency of value and like any coin, it was just as fleeting. The locals always had enough change to spare to whet the appetite of any Corse, and that kept the family in good standing. All you had to do was look for a meeting with "the man in blue with a table for two". The rest of the pieces usually fell into place.

Of course, not all the patrons were shady. Some were simply tourists looking for a good meal at a clean place. Life was full of chance, though. Nobody ever knew where the night might take them.
"Hey! Mama! Could you get the guys to clear out the reserved section tonight? Monsieur Reaver's going to be coming in and I'd prefer it if that end were clear, oui? Merci, mama, merci."

Charlemagne, or "Charley" as his nickname, had invited a client back to the Café to discuss some business. The place was immaculate, of course, but he wanted to be doubly sure that nobody who shouldn't be hearing the conversations would be. It always was a mess when they did. That blood stain never did properly come off the kitchen floor from the last unlucky sap.

Charley sat, propping his feet up on an adjacent chair, and grabbed a datapad to do some reading while he waited for the merc to show.
"Of course, fils. It'll be cleared and I'll set up for your little meeting, my sweet petit."

Marie Antoinette Start Nanobots, though she goes by Antoinette or Mama by her famille, stands by the entrance and shoos her son away. She looks at the open area she so adores. A great glass door surrounded by a potted planets holding the few indigenous plants large enough to be put in a large entrance display. She loved the plants. One of the few, if not the only, flowering plant of Nevers, boasting its three petals, and colours changing from a teal to a dark, beautiful pink. The petals themselves are normally one foot across and a two feet long, and the stems the size of a males arm. The best part about them is they are big enough to hide a snub gun in, which she requested one of her sons to do if the need of a weapon was needed.

She smiled her lovely smile to people coming in, and joked with people leaving, bidding them to stay for just one more drink. She did her job well. People actually listened and enjoyed their afternoon a bit longer, and she clapped her hands in delight when people did. Of how she loved her job.

The most interesting part was when someone came by looking for items of choice not on the menu. Most of the time a quick shoo of the hand and a laugh made them think that everything was fine, which was exactly how it was. If only they said the magic words, asked for the table to speak with a man in the colours of the planet. At that point she would personally wait the table and costumers, for normally the two were high end people. She brought drinks and small foods free of charge, and made sure they were not disturbed. She also made sure a few of the family were stationed around the area, armed and ready if something went wrong.

Ah, the daggers in a women's smile.
