Faction Name: Imperial Contracting and Shipping

Faction Objectives: To make money in any legal way; ICS will primarily act as a shipping organization with no political affiliation. They would like to be stationed in Bering, so they could run goods from Liberty to Bretonia, and from Rheinland to Kusari; primarily they want to make their money shipping between regions. ICS will also, however, act as a military contracting company. As a military contracting company, ICS will supply weapons, supplies and even troops to those willing to pay for its members expertise. All acting troops are recommended to come from a military background.

Zone of Influence: Legal trade routes throughout Liberty and Rheinland.

Factions Diplomacy: ICS will act as a quasi-legal organization. For the most part, they will attempt to remain neutral between nations and stick to shipping. However, the paramilitary side of the organization may, at times, take up arms against other factions or nations, depending on the money to be made. The faction would be hostile towards all unlawful factions, and unfriendly towards any and all companies/corporations who cross regional boarders (for instance, ICS would not be unfriendly towards Universal Shipping, as they mainly stay within Liberty, but would be unfriendly towards the Independent Miners Guild, as the IMG operates between borders thus acting as competition for ICS).

RP Backstory: Made up of former military members disgruntled by the seeming never-ending war between nations and veteran cargo runners who are more interested in the movement of goods than politics, the ICS was formed as a coalition between these two groups as an attempt to see if money could be made as a result of and simultaneously despite the massive problems caused by the ongoing wars (restriction of space, affiliation with one region causing problems with another, and so on).

Hierarchy: ICS would be ordered as a corporation. The leader would be CEO, and below him two Vice-Presidents of the companies two faces: Vice President in charge of Shipping and Vice President in charge of Military Contracting. There will also be one acting CFO, Chief Financial Officer, who will serve as the faction "bank." Members will be divided into shipping/military groups, with equal standing in the faction applying between the two. There will be three sets of rank within each group: Manager, Supervisor and Contractor.

Allowed Tech: Given their non-political status, members would be required to use either a Mercenary ID (if on the paramilitary side of the business) or a Freelancer ID (if on the trading side of the business).

ROSTER:

This is currently the roughest, because apparently none of the members besides me have yet created forum accounts >_>. Expect this to be corrected in the very near future, well before there is any application for official status.

CURRENT PLAYERS WHO WOULD BECOME MEMBERS:
Captain_Teft/Major_Adam_Shalashaska
Private_Beau
Lt.Broussard
Staff_Sergeant_Spiff
Sgt._D_Schrempf
Steranka_Tank

- As I said, this is all very rough-draftish. Please, provide any, all and as much feedback as possible (but please try to keep it constructive!). I am willing to do anything and everything required to get this up to snuff so that, hopefully in the near future, I can submit it for official status, so please help me do what I need to do get it there!

Thanks!
Freelancer and Mercenary IDes, right? So we cant use a Large Train
If you plan to be neutral to everyone, you should get that Schrempf guy to lose his Rheinland weaponry, especially when travelling through Liberty.

I didn't read the entire post, comments will come later.

Edit: The IMG guys are right.

I don't think your diplomacy is very logical; trading corporations have to be flexible to survive, therefore most if not all trading corps need to do cross-house trading. A corporation that makes enemies of other corporations can't get on well with the governments.

I'm also curious about the whole paramilitary aspect; it seems to be conflicting with the trading side in my opinion. Military contracting is a very specialised area, with many existing big names in the field. I wouls suggest that you focus on one aspect first, then as your group develops, work on the other aspect.
You can't expect to keep a neutral reputation when you supply/work for the enemy. If you deal with Rheinland -> Liberty won't like you. Same with Bretonia/Kusari.

Independent Miners Guild. Miners. We might operate between the borders, but we aren't a primary
transport company. I don't really see you as competition to IMG. On the other hand ... you could even help
us by transporting ore.
IMG is always looking for transport companies which don't have problems with the war stuff, since Gateway,
our original main shipper isn't really able to go to the Taus anymore.

So,...I don't really see "competition" to be a fitting reason for "why not to like IMG" if you aren't a mining
company. But alright, we do a lot of our shipping on our own lately, since it's safer that way - "deals" - and
since we got our own defense wing. Though I don't think it should really be that way.

Alright. Back to your "faction" idea...use Freelancer or Independent Trader ID's. Working between Rheinland
- Kusari AND Liberty - Bretonia might get a bit difficult, that might require some diplomatic stuff. But it
should work. Though smuggling between the warzones - I doubt that's possible if you want to stay neutral.

A nice independent shipping company, well, why not? Give it a try. Show them it doesn't need to be Zoner
ID'd to move around cargo in all houses.
Trade Director of IMG| here.

I can only underline what Syrus already wrote. Better work with us than against us. We are looking (almost desperately) for haulers for the ore we produce. We like to interact with different parties in that because it is much more fun than to get your own transport, drop it, F1, get the new one... it's much better to have a "real" third party.

IMG could offer some "starting point" for your play because - quite frankly - we are one of the few mining faction that has survived the ore crisis and has still some activity in mining. So we produce ore, so you don't have to pick up your stuff at NPC bases which offers nothing in terms of RP.

I'd gladly work out contracts with you InRP.

If you decide to be competition... I am looking forward to give you a hard time ingame. =) *winks*
Well, they wouldn't be "neutral" with most people, perse. The way I was thinking, they would be 'unfriendly' with most nations, but not "hostile" towards any of them. The logic being the nations know that the ICS fights for them at times, even though they also fight against them at others. So the ICS are tolerated, under the conditions that they are only trading.

As far as not being hostile with other shipping companies - yeah, I suppose that makes sense. But I figure, we wouldn't want people competing with our business. And that makes it easier to pick out certain enemies, ha. The IMG may have been a poor example, though, hmm.

Hmmmm. I could see why this would work, but I'd really like to be able to start off with both... Do you guys all really think it wouldn't be doable?
