A Polizei Officer walked up to the podium while all the members of local and Sirius wide press were taking their seats at the square in front of Nibelung Polizei Plaza , where everything was ready to give place of a Press Conference hosted by the Rheinland Federal Polizei. As the officer got to the podium, he turned the microphone:

[color=#33CC00]- May I have your attention Ladies and Gentlemem ! Herr Polizei Direktor Regenkurt will arrive in a few minutes and will start with announcing the latest regulations of the Bundespolizei. Please be patient and listen carefully. You may ask questions once Herr Direktor is done with his announcement.

The officer stepped away from the podium and returned to the guard party which was responsible for the safety of high ranking Polizei officers.

Moments later, Polizei Direktor Hans Regenkurt walked up to the microphone. He did not take much time for standing still, took a quick look at the people who gathered today and began with his announcement.

- Guten Tag meine Damen und Herren , thank you for coming here today. We have called this meeting together for two main reasons. First off, we would like to announce that Rheinland Federal Polizei, with the approval of Rheinland Government and Rheinwehr High Command, has introduced a set of cargo regulations concerning certain commodities which in the future will require a license to transport. These commodities are the following :
  • Nuclear Devices, Plutonium, Toxic Waste, Prometheum
  • Human Organs, Pharmeceuticals
  • Gaian Wildlife
  • Light Arms , Military Vehicles
  • Codenamed Weapons
Further information and details of the licensing process can be found in the documentation copy my colleges handed out when you arrived.

Second point in our announcement is concerning the current conflict in Omega-7. As you may all know, Rheinland, by the might of the Kanzler has announced that lower Omega-7 is part of the Bundesrepublic. However, Independent Miners Guild forces in cooperation with Red Hessians and the Coalition and Colonial Republic marine squadrons are constantly fighting in the area. To ensure the safety of all Rheinland vessels and civilians, Frau Isnpekteur , Helga Weiss has ordered the Spezialeinsatzkommando to be stationed at Ulm Border Station to be able to give a helping hand to any civilian who is caught in the conflict. I was not permitted to give further information on this matter, therefore please don not ask.

If you have any questions, you may ask now.

Direktor Regenkurt put his papers aside and looked around to see if anyone wishes to ask.
A young, blonde man stood.

"Hello, I'm curious to why codename weapons need to be licensed. I did not think Codenames fit under the Commodity blanket, and what about vessels equiped with such weapons?"
[font=Century Gothic]Regenkurt listened to the question and did not hesitate to answer.

As you can see in the detailed documentation we gave out, mounted weaponry is an exception from the Weapons Dealing license. Also, the reason for this regulation was simple, as we do not want unmarked flying weapon markets floating around in either war zones or in areas where a pirate attack is possible, as that would benefit all hostile intentions towards Rheinland.

This regulation is simply to keep track of these dealers so that we can ensure that their cargo doesn't fall into the wrong hand.
An olive skinned man with dark hair raises his hand for attention and asks, "Reviewing the documentation provided, it appears that an individual trader who wishes these licenses would have to pay 55 million credits. Aren't these fees extraordinarily high? As a corollary, don't you think that the high prices of these license fees will actually encourage smuggling?" The man pauses a moment and then adds, "Why not make the licenses one million each and then you have a registry of who is permitted to carry what, and at a rate that encourages trade, rather than pushes trading away from Rheinland?"
