Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army

The Coalition. I'm sure you've heard of us. Heard of us from your parents, your teachers, your colleagues and your erstwhile comrades. Everything you have heard is a lie. You shall hear about us from ourselves now, people of Sirius.

The Beginning

In the beginning, nearly a millennium ago, there was strife between the Western Alliance, that's you, and the Eastern Coalition, that's us. Most people don't know why the war even started in the first place. Alliance scholars would claim that it was because of the Coalition's surprise attack on Fort Kennedy, which is only true on the surface, as the Alliance had been strategically and ideologically provoking the peoples of the Coalition for decades.

To Sirius

After being defeated, losing the Sol system to our moral and military might, a small fraction of the Alliance's survivors attempted to flee, flee into space towards the Dog Star, to Sirius. We, the ever-expanding Revolution, could not allow for simple Socialism in One Nation, so we pursued. Unfortunately, the majority of our pursuing ships were lost, their crews still in cryo-freeze to this day, according to our medical experts.

However, all was not lost. For years, we knew of the Sleeper Ship project. The nations building the vessels had their crews infiltrated. Our spies found the Hispania most easy to sneak aboard, although hundreds of others managed to slip onto the others, particularly the Rheinland.

When the Hispania arrived in Sirius, a series of explosions nearly destroyed the craft. Our historians are unsure what caused it. It was likely our agents, acting as saboteurs, although plenty of other explanations are available.

(Fighter pilots traditionally visit the Hispania's wreck to see how their people arrived in Sirius. It is considered good training for scouts.)

Many of the Coalition personnel that had successfully made it to the Sirius sector stayed amongst the people of the new Houses, acting as intelligence agents with lines of communication to the others, who had a quiet exodus to the Omega systems.

Centuries pass...

Some arrived in Omega 52, on Planets Volgograd and Jiangxi. They would, in minuscule numbers, slowly build structures on these planets, surviving in these tough landscapes whilst their comrades abroad prepared for the Revolution that was to come. There were also those on the planet which later came to be called Gran Canaria by the Zoners, living a life cut off from the rest of the sector.

There was, of course, trouble in Rheinland, Coalition demagogues taking part in the Popular Revolution, but not having any great degree of success.

Revolution!

The small nation in the Omegas, eventually came to be headed by one High Chancellor Aeon, who, having been discovered by the Alliance, after some fighting, attempted to sue for peace.

The chief of his fleet, one Acting Commodore McIntosh, an allegedly insane, mass murdering Bretonian defector, brutally executed him, promoted himself to Grand Admiral of the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army, taking the role of head of state, and proceeded to wage war on the capitalist pigs of the Alliance with an absolute lack of mercy.

The Coalition, with its tiny population in Sirius, took on the role of a partisan uprising across the sector, taking in deserters, defectors and anyone that would fight under their Communist ideology.

The McIntosh Days

Various events of course have passed since those turbulent times, years ago. Attempts to convince the Corsairs of the follies of capitalism failed, their greedy, piratical leaders casting out those that would align themselves with the Coalition, such as Comandante Adrian 'Ares' o Jovem, and the crew of the Osiris class Havana, who defected to join their charismatic countryman.

The SCRA would go on to attempt to expand and improve, casting aside old stolen and patched together technologies, one talented young engineer, Xing KeSi, putting together the designs for a fleet, whilst another team of engineers constructed stations in the Omega 52 system, as the Grand Admiral conducted an insane, highly classified mission back to Sol, which had very mixed outcomes.

In Omega 52, various stations were constructed, including the legendary Zvezdny Gorodok, Star City, the moon of Planet Volgograd which was hollowed out to produce and house the newly designed snubfighters of the SCRA's feared assault wings. Here they train and prepare for war. This system is off-limits to everyone but the SCRA itself. To trespass is to invade. To invade is to die.

Recruits would pour in from across the sector, and the Revolution would move to assist other, like-minded, parties across the Houses, putting particular focus on Rheinland, seeing it as a hotbed of radical thought. Many famous names would come to the Coalition from Rheinland, such as Admiral Kirk, Captains Richthofen and Totenkopt, as well as the allegedly most decorated man in the SCRA, Commander Eugen Weise.

The New Coalition

Things began to shift in the Coalition'€™s upper echelons with the arrival of a new breed of Coalition officers such as Alvin Katz, [REDACTED], Alexi Karchov, Aloysius Rhade and Angie Broch. Eagre to stamp a new brand of Coalition politics and policy upon Sirius they launched audacious campaigns against the enemy.

[REDACTED], Angie Broch'€™s dramatic defection from a life of piracy, finding a life and a cause worth fighting for. Colonel Rhade's emergence as a unparalleled combat leader. Each of them taking a hold of the Coalition'€™s worn battle standard and hoisting it aloft again.

Through the unforgettable events of the Ontario elections, Alvin Katz a former SCRA officer and Commissar was catapulted into the realm of Coalition Politics assuming the leadership of the Coalition'€™s civilian government and rising to the position of Premier of the Coalition, becoming the third Great Leader of the Coalition when McIntosh'€™s ill health rendered him incapable of carrying on the cause.

Under his dynamic guidance the Coalition has risen again to a position as a formidable enemy of the former Alliance houses, an economic power-house independent of the corruption that plagues the Sirius Corporations, and a military might that vanquishes its enemies through weight of skill, trumping force of arms each and every time with well thought out tactics and battle tested strategies.

The Revolution draws even closer to a reality.

The Civil War

(A Volkhan Propaganda Poster)
All was not as it seemed however. A mad man, known only as the "Volkhan" rose up without warning, storming the Politburo and effectively taking over the entire of the Coalition. Using devices known as "Nerve Staples" the Volkhan forced the loyalty of the Coalition. A small band, however, would not stand for this. Upon learning that Premier Katz was being held and tortured aboard TOR-ONE, General Alvarez stormed the vessel, rescuing the Premier from almost certain death.

A Wing lead by Colonel Aloysius Rhade was scrambled to intercept General Alvarez's vessel, the CPW-Jackal, however Rhade knew something was amiss, and was convinced by Alvarez to join him in his struggle to return Katz to power.

Falling back to the Ontario system, General Alvarez made contact with the Liberty Navy. Though many of the wing members opposed it, the only way for Katz to survive his injuries was immediate medical attention on-board a top secret Naval installation in a system known only as "Virginia". Surrendering himself to the Navy, Alvarez put the rebellion in the hands of Colonel Aloysius Rhade, who promptly ordered the rebels to base out of Freeport-14 in the isolated Yukon system.

Rhade sent out messages requesting help, of particular note to the Xenos. However, in a move Rhade did not expect, the Xenos betrayed the location of the rebels to the Volkhan, prompting a deadly battle in the Alberta system. The Jackal, and all hands aboard were lost, and the Karl Marx was heavily crippled. Many Snub-pilots lost their lives or were seriously injured.

After learning of the Xeno betrayal, Rhade began hostilities with the Xenos. Again, in an unexpected turn of events, the Rebellion was kicked out of Ontario by it's Xeno-Influenced Government. Salvation came in the form of one "Alla Alesky" who used his strong diplomatic ties with the Gaian's to obtain a new base of operations in Manchester while plans to restore a derelict base in New Castle were under way. It is rumoured that Alesky performed many "favors" with a certain Gaian to obtain the base.

Colonel Rhade, after his recent failures in Ontario and with the Xenos was replaced in the leadership role of the rebellion by Alla Alesky and Lukas Wexler, both of which lead the rebellion with great success.

It is unclear what really happened, but the Coalition's Gas Miner, the Shanghai, was either damaged of sabotaged, causing widespread fuel shortage's within the Volkhan's Coalition, effectively grounding his Capital Fleet, and severely reducing the number of vessels that could operate. The Rebels exploited this, and taking advantage of the Volkhan's limited numbers, managed to stage a rescue operation for Doctor XiaoBei, who, along with Doc Holiday, would prove vital for retaking the Coalition. The rescue operation could not have worked without the selfless actions of two great men. One of which was Captain Chun Ki Ling, who managed to strip down a wing of Insurgent fighters to the bare bones, saving valuable parts and resources for the "entrapment" of Dr XiaoBei. While he was wounded in the process, he was honoured with the rank of Major and was appointed as a wing commander for the coming assault on Omega-52. The other man, Major Sean Lee, made the ultimate sacrifice when he personally gave up his life holding off the Loyalist reinforcements in order to allow the Rebel Rescue Party to escape safetly with the Doctor. Major Lee is now used in many War Academy classrooms as a prime example of how Coalition pilots should act when they are facing impossible odds

The two Doctors worked closely, and managed to effectively nullify the Volkhan's Nerve Staples. Alvin Katz returned to the field after recovering from his traumatic experience, and gave the Rebels renewed hope. The Rebels turned their sights towards the prize. Omega-52.

(The Renewed Katz Government)

The Battle of Omega-52 was fierce, and it was won. Using OSI Vessels to spread Staple-Nullifying Nanobot's around planets and stations, the Rebels were able to neutralize the Volkhan's grip on the people. It was hard won, many lives on both sides were lost.

It was also during this time that a shift in the politics of the Coalition began. Now a Comissar, Rhade relinquished his role as the Field Commander of the Coalition's Military, passing it on to a new breed of leaders, one of which was hand-selected by Rhade to serve as his successor. Major Otto Wolfe. Lt Colonel Wexler, a decorated hero in the conflict, withdrew to more secondary duties. While Major Ling was again promoted to Lt Colonel so that he would use his engineering skills once more to rebuild the Coalition's Military.

Ben Warner, in a surprising move, turned traitor. He was last seen fleeing towards Corsair Space.

The diplomatic policies of the Coalition changed as well. Ties to the TAZ and OSI were immensely strengthened, and the relations with Liberty were awkward, at best, given how they were everything the Coalition hated and yet had been of much help during the Civil War to restore Alvin Katz.

The Aftermath

Soon after the Civil War had ended, a new age began for the Coalition. With both Lukas Wexler and Alla Alesky withdrawing from their leadership roles, and with the strange circumstances surrounding Commandant Orlov's disappearance, a new leader had to be chosen. That leader was Lt. Colonel Chun Ki Ling, now promoted to Commandant.

There are many rumors surrounding Ling's rise into a commanding role, some say that it involves time travel. All rumors are officially denied, and any found spreading these lies will face consequences.

In yet another twist of events, the traitor Ben Warner was captured on board of a Freeport and subjected to mind alterations. He returns to once against fight for the Revolution.

It wasn't long before things began to take their toll on the old guard, however. General Ricardo Alvarez retired from field command, and became the head of the SCRA War Academy on Volgograd, ready to teach the next generation of warship commanders.

One of his final official acts involved promoting Colonel Aloysius Rhade, Hero of the Revolution, to the rank of full General, and placing him in command of the Pride of the Coalition. The Havana herself.

The Havana, Pride of the Coalition, having downed a countless number of enemy Capital Ships under the command of General Alvarez, now set forth with a new Captain, eager to continue the tradition of supremacy.

Now, the Coalition flourishes; as new recruits flock in record-breaking numbers to fight the rising oppression of Rheinland, Bretonia, and the new threat known as Gallia. As such, there were plans that the Premier will activate the full force of the Militsiya Fleet, almost doubling the size of the Coalition's already huge military. Skill, experience and discipline is now revered more than ever, and special training programs such as the Trials of JiangXi ensure that the Coalition produces only the best pilots.

The Revolution is for the people. Remember that, and know although that the heroes in our ranks may not free you tomorrow, or the next day, our advance is unstoppable, an inevitable red dawn.

Policy

In spite of rumours you may hear to the contrary, we do not harm the civilian populace of Sirius unless attacked first. Our Revolution strikes at the roots of capitalism, the oppressive governments which keep their boots on the faces of every working man and woman in the universe. We are killers to a man, but we are not murderers. We are the common people, fighting for the common people.

(Coalition troops feeding the hungry)

Sirius' civilian population may have nothing to fear from us, but the police forces, the militaries and the pirates who violently oppose our Revolution should be quaking in their boots at our Red Terror. These fascists should expect no mercy from our marines or pilots, as they have been trained to harbour no guilt for ending the lives of those that deserve it.

(A recording of a Coalition marine during a raid in Rheinland. The captured footage would later be broadcast by propaganda agents.)

We do not tolerate piracy, terrorism or oppression of the people. We do, however, have comrades in Rheinland, in the Bundschuh, LWB, Red Hessians and Unioners who don't quite live up to our moral standards.

Although we can't condone their criminal activity, we sympathise with their plight and their cause. We also have allies in the Order, although this is a distant relationship, and somewhat strained, due to our hostility to the Corsairs. We aid them by monitoring the movements of Nomad hosts in the Omegas. Humanity comes first, of course.

We also have nothing but scorn for the trade of Cardamine. We will have nothing to do with its dealers, save excessive violence. We believe that slavery is amongst the worst crimes man can commit, save treachery to the alien menace. Slavers too can expect harsh punishment.
