Good Day, my name is David Rhodes, Executive Vice President of Sea Spirit Trading.

First, let me begin by explaining who we are.
Sea Spirit Trading is an independent trading and mining firm, built upon the ideals of free profit and trade. We have always made it a company policy to build strong bridges with the Zoner community, and currently hold a contract with OSI, which we have delivered on with efficiency. As well, in a time of crisis, we rushed aid to the beleaguered citizens of FP1, evacuating wounded and shipping in supplies.

Our company headquarters has always been within Sovereign Bretonia, on the Planet Leeds.

We have concerns over the loss of LD-14 and the continuing advance of Kusari. We shall retain offices on Leeds for as long as it is tenable, but we have need to relocate our Headquarters to a more stable venue.

I have been to Baffin many times. I signed the deal for a new Border Worlds Transport, my first transport vessel, in the docking bays of Shasta. Ive always enjoyed the serenity of Baffin, and the majestic views of its starscape, and looming Gas Giant, Eris.
Our company leaders have agreed, that Baffin, and Shasta, would be a great place for us to relocate our HQ Offices for the time being. As well, Baffin offers a strategic location for us, being so conviently accessible to Liberty, Curacao, the Tau's, and from there, Leeds and Dublin

We would like to lease office space on Shasta Orbital Skyhook for our offices, and docking space for our HQ Vessels. The bulk of our trading fleet is spread to many bases, so will not be mooring full-time on Baffin, if your worried about docking space.

Please let me know if this is acceptable. We hope for a favorable reply.

Signed
David Rhodes
Executive Vice President
Sea Spirit Trading & Leasing

Kallisti, Mr. Rhodes.

Our relations with Bretonia are dead neutral, at best.
I know for once John quite dislikes to deal with that specific house.

I will then try to answer your request the best i can.

Before giving you a positive or a negative answer regarding your request, i would like you to check our laws, if you didn't do it already.

The Pentabarf can basically be summarized as :
- The entire system is considered a No Fire Zone.
- Pueblo Bonito - our sacred sanctum - and its surroundings are a restricted area.

Code:
IT IS SO WRITTEN! SO BE IT.
HAIL DISCORDIA!
PROSECUTORS WILL BE TRANSGRESSICUTED.

Then, we would like to have some informations regarding your company :

- Who is your firm mainly working for, except Omicron Supply Industries.
- How many people are working for you. How many would live in Baffin.
- How many vessels would use Shasta Orbital Skyhook docks and moor points.
- Does your company have large vessels that would loiter in Baffin. This includes warships such as gunboats or cruisers, liners, barges.

As you may know, everyone is welcome in Baffin, as long as they respect our laws.
However we need to know with precision how many resources you will use and how much space you will need.

There is also another point.
We believe in the Goddess and we aren't trying to spread that faith actively. We respect others beliefs, however Proselytism in our home would be frowned upon.

Please, be kind enough to answer all those questions. We will then take a decision regarding your request.

Have a nice day.
23's.

Kallisti, Mr. Rhodes,

I can definately sympathize with you on your predicament. While we don't concern ourselves with the current state of affairs of Bretonia and Kusari, I can only imagine the shock of the LD-14 loss to the Crown. I also have a fair understanding of the horrors of planet Leeds. I hear the stories from the refugees at the Port Jackson camp, most of whom I have befriended.

So you need a an office. I can respect that. Well, as my counterpart, Mnemosym, stated, we need re-assurances. I think the questions and conditions she asked of you will give us that so please do answer them and your proposal will be discussed.
I will make one other proposal on this. IF we grant you an office, I would ask that you enter and exit Baffin from the Coronado side. If our Kusari neighbors were to see Bretonian transports in Baffin space, it could create an incident which we don't need. Kusari and TAZ have always been good neighbors and I aim to keep it that way.

Doc then clasps his hands

Perhaps, in this way, you, Sir, can restore some of my faith in Bretonia. Of the houses I've had to deal with, it is the one house I have the most tensions with despite the fact we like to do business there. It is simple, really. Honor our requests and maybe spread our trust to the Crown itself.

We await your response,
Dr. John Henry Holliday

Greetings Doctor Holiday and Mnemosym,

Yes we have reviewed the laws of your system, the Pentabarf, and quite frankly it is your law that is one of the primary reasons for our wishing to locate there. The view from Shasta is magnificent, but even more important is the safety of our employees and the security of our trading partners when in meetings. The near daily fireworks spectacles above planet Leeds during the duration of this war has caused undue stress to many of our long time employees, some of whom are refugees from those areas evacuated as the Kusari pushed forward.

We have expanded our office space on Cambridge, New London, and Los Angeles, as well as Freeport 1. With the peace process underway with Rheinland, we are hoping to reopen our offices there in the near future. Keeping our headquarters in the unstable Leeds system is simply an untenable situation. We need a peaceful locale in order to meet with our current and future customers, without fear of being attacked outside the docking ring.

My apologies for the length of this message beyond this point, but wanted to answer your questions in detail:

We mine and transport various grades of ore such as nobium, beryllium, gold, and silver. Transportation is the primary business on which we built ourselves. A lack of available miners at times had us move towards commissioning mining ships to be built and then leased to pilots looking to earn a decent wage, with terms that the majority of their work be done for company transports. We have contracts with the OSI to provide ore, assisted Freeport 1 during the crisis after it was bombarded, and have been supplying it with its day to day necessary goods. We also contract with independent transporters and Zoners on a regular basis.

Additionally, due to necessary restructuring during the Rheinland-Bretonia war, we restructured ourselves and partnered with the Independent Miner's Guild. Previously our mining ship leases were written that the lessee pilot was responsible for their own licensing. This led to a mixture of independent licenses from IMG, BMM, Kruger, Dauman, DSE, etc. With our partnership with IMG we now have standardized the licensure for both the mining ships, transports, and our security division.

Our employee population census is 5,500 persons dispersed throughout all of our locations and ships. Once we are able to reopen and re-employ the Rheinland staff, that number will increase by approximately 500-750 persons. For the headquarters, we are asking for office and living quarters for 250 personnel and their families.

Regular, permanent docking space required would be for two Democritus and three Pelican class ships, as well as the personal snubcraft of myself, mister Rhodes, and our board chairperson Rebecca Collins. To conserve on hangar space at the station, we will provide our employees shuttle service to planet Curacao where their travel can be continued via other transportation. Other ships may dock occasionally for meetings or inspections, or for travel through the system.

We have no liners, cruisers, barges or such large capital ships at this time and do not forsee the purchase of such in the near future. We do have two corporate Hydra gunboat class ships for security at Omega 7 and Tau 23, and two of our hired mercenary escort ships are of the Abdhouri class. If these ships are within the Baffin system, they will be held strictly accountable regarding the Pentabarf laws against weapons discharge. With the exception of refuel or emergency repairs I would not foresee these ships remaining for any length of time other than arrival and departure for security escort.

In regards to religion and proselytism, we believe in the freedom of the individual to choose, without interfering with the rights of others to do the same. In stating this, I mean that proselytism is frowned upon as a matter of corporate policy. Should any employee be found interfering with the TAZ religious philosophy we will deal with that immediately.

I would also like to state that some members of our staff have expressed an interest in learning more about Discordia and becoming acolytes, including Miss Collins our board chairperson. These persons would request either meetings with your priesthood at Shasta, or access to the temple at Pueblo Bonito.

Doctor Holiday,

One thing I'd like to address directly to you in regards to our company status within Bretonia. While I would enjoy the opportunity to increase your trust in Bretonians, are a company born in Bretonia, and whose people have shed blood, sweat, and tears in and for Bretonia for years, I must inform you that the government refuses to acknowledge us as a Bretonian corporation due to the fact that we are our own company and not Bowex or BMM. This has repeatedly been pointed out to us by the government when we have been hunted by Bretonian privateers, and a BAF authorized Kusari agent.

Thus, as we are sadly not recognized by our own government as being a Bretonian company and are considered as not having Bretonian ships, I am at the disadvantage of being able to show you the trustworthiness of an "official" Bret company. However, there is a small upside to this refusal by the government. By not being permitted to be classed as a Bretonian corporation, our partnership with IMG has allowed us a more neutral reputation with Kusari, it's police, military, and corporations. On our recent trips to carry supplies to the mining operations in the Tau systems we have been able to use the jump gates and trade lanes as well as transport silver ore to its sale point at Narita.

While I have no problem in abiding by your request to use the Coronado entrance to the Baffin system, our current transponders and status leave us with little trouble passing through Kusari territory. I would like to offer our shuttle to service transport between Freeport 6 and Shasta in exchange for use of the Tau jump hole.

Additionally, any extra materials and supplies that our presence might incur, we can provide ourselves via our transport craft of BWTs, Atlas, Shire and Titanic class ships.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

John T. Rourke

I'm satisfied with your answer regarding transponders and Kusari. I just didn't want any possible conflicts.

Another problem does exist however. This upload will give you a visual of what I'm speaking of: Upload

For all of it's size and docking areas, Shasta only has room for a staff of 333 personnel. With recent upgrades to the medical labs and improvements to the pineal mining equipment, any free quarters were taken.

In the past, we've had business partners come and go. I remember one, the Zoner Ore Extractors, who faced the same problem. Their solution? While they had an office on Shasta itself for a couple of it's company reps, the also brought a modified Jinkusu warship for everyone else which was moored just off the base. Perhaps this would be an option? It would take us months to expand the base to what you need and take just as long to ship in the goods to do it.

I will be speaking with my people on this but I am confident we can work something out.

I appreciate your answers on this matter.
John will answer to your request.

If your employees wish to learn about Discordianism, we can organize a meeting, either with Malaclypse or I.
Let me know if you're interested.

Kallisti, Gentlemen,

I do apologize for the delay. I don't think I need to tell you about the problem we have approaching with the Gallic Royals. But, that is another subject.

After some discussion, not about whether or not to grant your request, but to figure out how to house the numbers you ask for, we have decided to dedicate two of our most northern docking area for you. That will give you enough room to moor ships and with some work, you will have crew quarters. Once you are settled, those who may wish to do so may begin the study of Discoridia. You will have to get with Malaclypse as he is the high priest here and will show those interested via The Kiva.
For those who want a night life and fine food, go to Sins After Hours. Sins has two sides, one with the ladies and the other for the quieter folks. You will find some of my commanders prefer the quieter side.

I will ask that you bring a generous supply of ships hull panels as we will need to strengthen the base a bit. We would like to have plenty in our stores as well and if possible, keep the food supplies up. If we work together, this will be a good partnership.

So, congrats and welcome aboard.

Doctor Holiday and Mnemosym,

It is my turn to apologize for delays. Since our last communications we've been working out accommodations for both office and housing space for the staff that were otherwise planned for Baffin. It's my fault entirely as my mind was filled with the fantastic views rather than the size of the station at Shasta. We have since contracted housing and office space for many of the personnel to Cambridge, New London, Cardiff, and Alland. Further, we have expanded our holdings on planet Los Angeles and are looking to reopen and expand our offices at New Berlin.

The above drastically reduces the number of personnel that would be relocated to Baffin. For the expansion of the facility our transports are already in progress to deliver the necessary materials, engineers and supplies required. Your comment about the modified Jinkusu class ship brought to mind something I saw during my last trip to Alland shipyard.

It seems someone had planned to convert a Zephyr class carrier into an executive cruise ship in the more dangerious regions of Sirius space. The build was completed but apparently funding became an issue and it has been sitting there for quite some time unused. Thus, we have chosen to purchase said vessel as it is already fitted for use as both housing and offices, with its own bays for small craft.

With your permission, I'd like to moor the ship near Shasta until such time as the expansion is completed. It will be your choice of course as to whether the ship's armament is mounted or dismounted. We are more concerned with it being space for us versus it being a ship of combat.

As an additional update, our attorneys have informed me that a transportation partnership with Gateway Interstellar has been completed. As previously requested by you, all Sea Spirit ships with Bretonian transponders will enter and exit only through the Coronado jump hole access point.

Thank you for your consideration,

John T. Rourke

PS Doctor, I too am concerned about the Gallic situation. Feel free to contact me at your convienience to discuss these issues and how either myself or my company might be of assistance.

It is good to hear that you are getting things in order. Having your assets spread and a Zephyr in system as an executive office is a good idea. As to armament, I wouldn't expect you to keep your guns dismounted. I trust that you know Baffin law enough with them and I don't expect you to not defend yourself should that unfortunate occurrence happen. I choose to think positive.

In review of our last transmissions, you mentioned that you have no conflicts with Kusari. If so, I see no reason why you can't go through the Tau 29 system. I'll leave that to your discretion.

When you arrive, do come to my office. We can discuss any loose ends and I'll fill you in on some of our visitors in system and passer byes. We can also discuss the Gallia issue in closed quarters as well.
