// This post is intended as an IRP prelude to the 4.86 miningmod changes - To inform your faction of where resources of interest are within it's operational area.

Omega-11 survey:
Increased activity in the Omega 11 star has caused a significant shift in the system's gravitic equilibrium. This has caused the shift of several jumpholes, as well as a shift in the axis of planet Schutz. It has not affected Solarius in any significant way, and mining continues in the Von Rohe asteroid belt, where the intense radiation of the dying star continues to produce more diamonds. Since the process is renewable, we do not expect these fields to exhaust - not until the star itself goes nova, which is predicted to take at least another threehundred millennia. Hessian and Corsair activity within the system remains extremely high, and the intense radiation discourages the military from permanently stationing ships there.

Dresden survey:
Dresden has all but been exhausted. Resource density in the fields surrounding Leipzig has fallen below economically viable levels. We're switching to stage 4 mining in these fields, which will squeeze out a few more kilotons before production will have to be ceased. Recommend steering towards an exit strategy to withdraw all assets from this system in the coming decade - although the sheer size of Leipzig will make this difficult.

Munich survey:
The Chiemsee operation has supplied our smelters with raw aluminium for several decades. Until recently, the material did not hold enough value to be considered for export - Liberty is out of the question, and Kusari prefers to import the finished product rather then raw materials. Bretonia used to have their own Aluminium mining and refining facilities on planet Leeds - but with a miner strike paralyzing their production and the need for the material high, we saw a golden opportunity to capitalize on BMM's misfortune. Production at Raubling will have to be ramped up tenfold, to meet the demand of both Rheinland and Bretonia.

Koeln survey:
Initial ventures into Koeln involved little more then a forward storage facility paired with a group of resource extraction platforms. Initially the Wildspitze asteroid field, rich in Aluminium, was serviced until yields became economically unviable. However, with the recent demand for raw Aluminium within Bretonia, the economic situation has changed. This field is once again interesting, although it's production will be substantially lower then the Munich operations.

Omega 7 survey:
As predicted the discovered deposits of Cobalt and Copper near Briesen became sparse in the fourth quarter. While mining continued, prospectors were sent out to sense and flag new potential fields. They were successful in discovering a fairly rich patch roughly 20 kilometers south of Briesen. We have relocated several of our asteroid miners to take full advantage of these new fields, and to affirm our claim on them.

Omega 3 survey:
The Hydrocarbon resource extraction in the Roth field is proceeding as usual, and we do not forsee any change in this. Bretonian political pressure is increasing however - there are signs that they are preparing to rebuild the docking ring of Sprague, possibly in preparation for colonization. This would give them a very strong claim on that system. More immediate is the appearance of the Cross-Vandermeer comet. Initially predicted to miss the system entirely, our physicist Johan Vandermeer correctly stated that the Baxter anomaly would alter it's trajectory, although there was not enough time to calculate the exact path. The comet has since settled in low orbit around the Omega 3 star, it's icy mantle slowly being eroded. Measurements taken from the comet while it passed Rugen station suggest it is rich in Cobalt, and we might be able to task some light mining transports to scoop up debris from it's tail.
