66th Special Expeditionary Battlegroup
66th Tokubetsu ensei-ka

66th is a division formed shortly after the foundation of the Republic of Kusari, whose purpose is to protect Kusari from external threats.

The 66th division was created with the objective to effectively replace the 113th division, which somehow went rogue and turned against the Empire.
In order to increase the operational means of this new division, the Ministry of Defense provided it significant assets, like the Naval Forces old Exploration Wings and one of the first battle-cruisers that left Kure shipyard, along with a destroyer escort for deep space research missions.

For alien research, 66th division used a Fearless class destroyer that was found in the omicrons and repaired on Kure shipyard, its scanner arrays being specifically outfitted to locate alien life on mid and close ranges.

With that in mind, 66th division became the new line of defense against aliens and others external threats.
While this division is still attached to the Naval Forces Admiralty, it actually has a large latitude in its prerogatives; Mostly because its members are often on the outskirts of Kusari zone of influence.

One of the main tasks of this division is to study aliens in order to find better means to detect and oppose them.

Their Main HQ is located on Fort Wakkanai in Hokkaido, which provides a large variety of laboratories and rooms for experiments. Kansai Research Station has also been heavily used for alien research in the last few months and provides necessary support for the division.

For deep space missions the division uses a large variety of craft.
