Almost 6 months after the battle of Omicron Minor, an expedition launched today from the planet Cambridge
in Bretonia. The goal is to land the first humans on the surface of the now decimated planet Toledo which
until recently was nothing more than speculation. The scientist will use specially shielded re-entry vehicles
state of the art robotics and environmental suits to survive in the extremely hostile environment. The
expedition is funded almost entirely by the Bounty Hunters Guild Core, which in the economic circles cause
quite a stir considering the heavy losses suffered by the Core in the aforementioned battle. Specialists say
that wealth of the Guild Core might have been underestimated as they seem quite comfortable after an
event which would have no doubt made any other organisation bankrupt.

Once the expedition reaches the Edge Nebula the security will be handled by the Core battleship Battleshark
- a survivor of the battle and decorated for her role in almost all of the Core's campaigns. The captain of
the Battleshark - Cpt. Daniels commented;

Quote:I would like to clear few concerns. First of all even though funded and protected by the Core, this
is a strictly civilian expedition. Finding out what exactly happened to the planet is of paramount importance
to humanity as it might reveal clues how we can protect against such an atrocious strike. Which means the
mission could not fail, that's why we are here. And if those fanatics in the Order have just a bit of common
sense left they'll realize that they should not try to hinder us and just stay out of our way.

The captain refused to comment on the question could any possible finds benefit the Core directly. The
expedition is scheduled to arrive in the Omicron Minor system within two weeks. More on the story as it
develops

The BSV-Steadfast joined the Core battleship Battleshark near the Omega systems earlier today. Together the
two vessels will make their way to the Omicrom Minor system deep in the Edge Nebula in an attempt to
explore the devastated planet Toledo. Stay tuned for more reports about the expedition or log on the neural

In another news;

A freelancer exploration party has discovered the wreck of the MNS-Ranseur earlier this week while
charting an unexplored system in the Edge Nebula. The entrepreneurs thought they've stumbled upon a
crashed alien vessel while doing the initial orbital scans and not much later discovering to their surprise
it was actually a vessel of human design.

The MNS-Ranseur was the first ship of her class lost, along with her crew of 1320, almost 10 years ago
when a jump hole collapsed as the dreadnought was flying through it. A popular theory which is now
debunked was that the ship de-atomized during the collapse as no traces of it were found.

The planet on which the dreadnought crashed is a temperate desert planet with breathable atmosphere and
surface gravity of the comfortable 0.9G. As the 420 000 ton 800 meter long ship re-entered the
atmosphere and hit the surface with almost 2000m/s it created a trench almost 5 kilometres long which is
now filled with water.

The Maltese Navy organised a recovery afford. The majority of the crew survived the surface impact
however all of the survivors later died from Cardamine withdraw. The ship's Cardamine reserves were
empty which suggests that the crew was alive almost 6 months after the crash.Due to the remoteness of the
wreck site and the fate of the crew Maltese officials have decided not to recover the wreck and leave it on its place
as a tomb.
