08/04/919 - Cambridge system - There have been jubilations aboard the Battleship Norfolk and sighs of relief from Planet Cambridge's politicians today, as a firm strike was landed on the advance of the piratical group, the Corsairs. Through a sequence of stunning coincidences, a newly constructed installation belonging to the criminal empire was detected, then destroyed in a swift Armed Forces reprisal earlier today.

The base itself, hidden deep in the Cambridge system, was located by a lost Bowex employee who had been attempting to make contact with a BMM facility. After the discovery was radioed in, the Armed Forces were swift to mobilise, putting their stringent training and immaculate professionalism to good use. A passing Bowex trade convoy was also drafted into service, acting in a reserve support role. The so-called Esperanza Station was laid low within minutes.

Had this base been allowed to become fully opreational, it is believed the Corsairs could have perpetrated an unprecedented wave of crime across Cambridge and southern New London. Planet Cambridge spokesmen have already praised the Armed Forces, claiming this strike "marks the beginning of the end for the decades-long scourge the Corsairs have presented to Cambridge's residents". Retaliation strikes are expected, causing leading commanders on the Norfolk to promise additional protection for Bowex and BMM's new holding in the Snowdown system.
