The Evacuation of Foster Base

Aim:

  1. To provide adequate supply drops to get Foster up and running long enough to get required intel of Cassini to perform a safe evacuation of all staff on the station.

  2. To organise a fleet capable of evacuating staff and equipment in as little trips as possible with adequate security and escort vessels.

  3. To safely and completely evacuate and abandon Deep Space Engineering's post in Cassini.

Equipment and passengers needing evacuation:
  • 25 Staff
  • David Green
  • Amanda Bye
  • Optronics (Foster, 2542 -> Baltimore, 2188. + 1000 credits per unit with screens provided)
  • Toxic waste (Foster, 10 -> Dortmund, 1793.)

Staff involved:

Jess Doe:
Jess, as well as John Doe will be supplying funding for this venture. Mining operations will be required to assist in the cash flow of Deep Space Engineering to ensure there is enough credits to continue the evacuation of staff from Fosters.

John Doe:
John will organise escort vessels and security for haulers passing through Cassini.

Rinoa Sevyn
Rinoa will organise mining operations to assist in creating funding for the evacuation of Foster. Mining operations will occur a minimum of once a week with multiple haulers to ensure there is a steady supply of credits.

Cosmo Kessler
Cosmo will organise haulers and ensure ships are passenger friendly before the evacuation operation goes ahead. Cosmo will also be required to ensure there are haulers available for the mining operations to ensure there is a steady supply of credits.

Drake Forsythe
Drake will organise exploration vessels to scout the possible entrance and exit points of Cassini, and decide on the safest path to take.

Josephine 'Josie' Alibrandi:
Josie will be assisting organising the evacuation, using the resources Deep Space Engineering has available and her contacts in the navy as support. She will be on the front line of the evacuations. Josie will also organise engineers to carry out required repairs on Foster.

Amanda Bye:
Amanda will be spending more time on Foster to ensure staff are ready for evacuation and provide intel as it is required. Amanda will also be required to ensure the station is maintained at a 'safe' level until evac commences. The stations communication devices will need to be repaired to allow contact with the main office on Planet Pittsburgh and Doe Industries Space Port.

Patrisha Vanderhofft
Patrisha will be on the exploration team, scouting the entry and exit points, and a suitable route to take for the operation.

Arthur Stern
Arthur will be assisting in transporting required goods for the repairs and survival of the staff on Foster until the evacuation can take place.

Willis Carrier
Willis will be assisting in the evacuation of Foster, as a part of the Team Charlie.

Plan of action:

  1. Send crew to Foster will supplies, leaving engineering staff behind. Once staff are on Foster they will work to get the communications devices up.

  2. Once the communication devices are running, staff will be informed of the plan and total numbers of both staff and amount of equipment requiring to be uplifted will be sent back to the main office on Planet Pittsburgh.

  3. Teams will be organised and trained by ex-marine Jorzza. Teams will not be sent in to complete the mission until they have passed the training and are seen as competent.

  4. Amanda will supply Josie with a list of codes for important access points and air locks. Flight paths for Rogues will also need to be determined as well as any other threats. Repairs will be needed to ensure the base will stay intact until such time as staff can be returned home.

  5. A 'Fission bomb' will need to be developed and transported to Foster base with the rescue teams to destroy the base and any evidence it existed.

THE IDEA

Amanda walks back into the bar on Deep Space Engineering's base - Doe Industries Space Port, wearing a darker top and jeans. She orders a drink and takes a seat in the corner. Josie walks over to her,

"Uhm...hi?"

Amanda looks up "Oh, hey. How are you doing?"

"fine, just fine......yourself?"

Amanda shrugs. "Yeah, not too bad I guess." She nods at one of the free seat "Take a seat if you want some company."

Josie sits down putting a hand around her neck, rubbing the spot between the shoulder blade and the spine "So I hear you just got back from Fosters or where ever it is."

Amanda nods looking at her glass before taking a drink. "Yeah, shield decided to cut out. They needed someone there to sort it out.. The whole place is.... it's a mess."

"Exactly how many people are on that station? scuttlebutt is that there's many a pirate out near there."

Amanda shrugs "Too many people. I'm not sure who I'll need to talk to, but I'm going to try get myself stationed out there more.. The guys there, they make do with what they have available but judging by the state of the place it's not enough."

"Why not pull them out of there? Or at least we can try to get a few supply drops in?"

"I'd like to see us cut our losses there, spent most of my time there shit scared it was going to fall apart. Until that happens, supply drops would be a good start. But, it wont fix the damage that's already been done." She shakes her head "You have no idea how bad its got. The last supply run was meant to last a year...."

"Trust me I know all too well. Perhaps we can sneak some people in on the supply drops and help set up some kind of operation to pull these people out?"

"Getting past the Rogues will be interesting. They allow us to bring goods in. Buggered if I know why. But I've seen ships come back torn to shreds because there was an extra passenger or two."

"Quite the problem. Do you think I could get a map of the system. I may have a way of getting those people out. It would be tricky though"

Amanda nods. "I managed to download one off the main computers." She grinned slightly "That in itself was an achievement.... It's up in my room." She looked at Josie "By the way. I'm Amanda. I don't think we've actually met.... well, officially met.... yet."

"I'm Josie, I used to be with the Millitary"

Amanda grins "So you're the right person to be talking to about this then huh?"

"You spend a few years as a grunt you pick things up, learn how to do this, know a certain thing may do this."

"I'm not even going to ask what that -thing- might be. But if you need any intel, or just anything in general, chat to me... I'll find it one way or another." Amanda frowns slightly. "If I work it so I'm in Fosters for some time until that happens, I can get the crew there ready to leave... and whatever you need to know from that end..... Down to their flight paths around the station."

"I can contact a few contacts I know in the fleet that would help. plus I got a former Marine Commander up in my ship"

Amanda looks deep in thought "That would be helpful... Do you think the navy would offer fire support?"

"Depends on who we talk to."

She nods. "Always the way, right?"

"Wink wink nudge budge, Bobs ya uncle. that kinda thing"

Amanda laughs "Something like that. Anyway... How long have you been around here for?"

"Month or two now actually, I got a job offer and here I am"

Amanda nods "Nice. Jess and John know how to pick staff from what I've seen. A few new faces around too which is good."

"Well it's different to sleeping on a mattress of plastic explosive"

Amanda laughs "Yeah, I bet!"

"Don't knock it 'till you try it."

Amanda looks down and takes her PDA from her pocket, swearing under her breath. "Hey, sorry... I gotta run. Something... um, important, has come up."

"Okay, if you want to talk more, come to my salvager. I have some data that may be interesting for the plan"

She nods and stands up. "Sounds good to me. I wanna see this get started as soon as humanly possible. I'll just go put the fire out in my latest race ship first....." She waves as she turns and runs out of the bar toward the hanger.

________________________________

Amanda wanders into the bar, ordering a bottle of bourbon and a few bottles of cola, as well as a beer. She put the cola and bourbon into her backpack and took the beer to a table in the corner. Josie walks in with a large case, followed by David on two crutches and leg bandaged up. David took a seat by the door.

Josie sees Amanda at the bar and walks quickly over to her, "Amanda."

Amanda looks up and nods at Josie as she reaches her table. "Hey. I got the message."

"We also got your answer. about he gun part. Well..." Josie puts the case up on the bar and opens it up revealing 42 different firearms and knives. "Pick your poison."

Amanda nods at David, and laughs as she sees the guns. She looked over them, picking a few up to get the feel of them.

"Honestly, I have no idea what'd be needed out there. You're the expert, what do you think?"

"If it was me id take all of them. But if i would to choose i would pick this lil devil right here" Josie picks up a large bore handgun. "Rewalt 4-40. it fires explosive round in .40 mgs. 15 round clip plus one in the chamber and is certain to leave a large hole in anyone you shoot with it"

David was watching the girls, wondering what's going on. "Hell someone is not hutting Hackers today?" Trying to get hind mind off his leg.

Amanda nods, "Mind if I have a look?"

Josie hands it to Amanda. "Sure thing."

Amanda plays around with the gun for a bit "Feels good for a gun." She nodded and put it back on the table. "Sounds like it will do the trick too."

"Just be careful of the recoil. it can hit you square in the face"

Chris swaggers in, taking a look around, his PDA starts ringing.

Amanda laughs "Sounds like the thing you'd only do once"

"Only if your not used to the recoil"

Chris looks around again, then grabs the PDA from his pants, answering it loudly "Yello?!"

Amanda glances across at Chris, and back to Josie. "I dont suppose this place has some kind of firing range does it?"

"Uuuh there's the security office and the range in my Salvager"

Chris looks around, waving to the people as he says their names
"David, Josie, Amanda, the barkeep..."

David looked at Josie "You think that is safe?"

"Which part shooting explosive rounds in a ship or the fact my Salvager needs a lot of work"

He laughs "Both. But I been working on something that I think may help. If you wanna see."

Chris pockets his PDA, and takes out a cigarette, lighting it, he walks over to the crowd.

Amanda looks blankly at David and shrugs. "You think it'd be safer if I use it not knowing what I'm doing?"

"True. and it just so happens I have this case full of guns." Josie smiles

"I'm sure it would be safer." David said, Smiling at Amanda

"Hey guys, what's going on?"

Amanda looks up at Chris "Hey."

"Sitting around, you?" David said pointing to his foot.

Hikari skates over Directly in front of Chris and spins to a stop, the cloth swirling around her, she smiles. Her and David begin a discussion of their own.

"So Josie wanna see my 'Net'?"

"If that's a pick-up line its the worst ever. But sure. I want to shoot a few of these things."

David, Looking flush, shook his head "No It was not."

David stood up on his Crutches "Well when you can meet me in my room. It's under my bed."

"Sure thing, lets go." She closes the case and picks it up

David limps out of the room, with Josie following him.

"Alright, see you guys..."

Amanda watches Josie leave and picks up the gun she had put on the table, having another look at it.

________________________________

Amanda yawns as she enters the bar. For once she actually looked.... feminine. With curled hair and make-up. She made her way to the bar and ordered a vodka drink. Amanda walked over to the usual seat in the corner and immediately wished she bought another drink.

David comes out of the pool room "I see that has not got fixed."

Jorzza eyes Amanda out of the corner of his eye "I'll talk to you lot later. I need to go talk to someone" He walks over to Amanda "Your the person who is going back to that station right?"

Amanda looks up "Depends what station it is your talking about."

"You know the one"

Amanda grins and nods. "Yeah, that's me."

David takes a glance of Amanda out the corner of his eye "Wow! I take it you clean up fast."

Amanda laughs at David's comment. "I'm enjoying it while I can. Back to work soon."

David limps over to Amanda I see. Extending his had to Amanda "I really wanna say I'm sorry for two days ago."

Amanda looks confused. "What happened two days ago.....?"

David took some time some time to answer "Yea the whole water incident."

She laughs "Oh, -that-. Seriously. Don't worry. It no biggie." She poked her tongue out at David.

"Something Josie forgot to give you" Jorzza pulls out a small box from his pocket and set it on the table

She looks even more confused when Jorzza puts the box on the table. "Oh...k. Thanks."

David looked over at Jorzza while Amanda knocks back most of her drink.

"There are tracking beacons inside linked to the communications thing"

Amanda nodded "Right. That makes more seance."

"Put them onto things like airlocks. system controls. anything you consider important to getting people out of there. even the people if need be"

Amanda looks at the box, then Jorzza "It'll take me a bit to find everything, but that should be done in a few days. Of course, I'm expecting most of that stuff needs to be fixed.... but that's a different story."

Laughing, David said to Amanda, "Well I look's like that's over on to question two.... anything you need help with.... In preparation for your mission?"

Amanda looks at David "You know where to get any number 8 wire?"

"Yea I do, wanna come with me to get it? Seeing how I'm at the moment on one good leg." He laughs

"I'm on one good leg and one leg that still thinks its a leg"

Amanda laughs "Its great stuff. I imagine most of the base will be held together by it once I'm done. I'm not gunna put too much effort into fixing it proper when its gunna die anyway..... I'll grab the wire soon, gunna enjoy a few drinks first. "

Amanda finishes her drink and frowns at the glass."You two want a drink? My shout. Its no fun having them alone."

"Sure thing." Jorzza sits down

"Sorry I don't drink." He said rubbing his neck.

"I do"

She nods and stands up, "I'll be back in a minute. Anything in particular you wanted?"

"Jake and coke. I think we may have some of that on the Salvager. I believe its holding the number 3 engine array in place"

She grins and pockets the box before heading over to the bar again, nodding a hello as she walks past Chris.

David takes a seat "Wow."

Jorzza laughs at David. "Eyes back into you head man."

Looking over at Jorzza "Easy for you to say."

David noticed David and Hiakri leaving "Hey before you go..... You would not happend to know where I get a number 8 wire would you?"

Amanda orders the drinks and walks back to the table, handing Jorzza his before taking a seat

Chris and Hikari leave, hand in hand, Chris waves to the group. "See ya"

"Oh joy the drink is here"

"Um... Not just the drinks." David said under his breath as his PDA beeps with an incoming message.

David check's his PDA with his eyes still on Amanda, the message reads - Third level, corridor 3-b, tech shop, should have more than enough.

David sighs after reading his message "Ugh more climbing." He mutters as hes putting his PDA back into his pocket.

"What's wrong with climbing?"

Amanda looks at David "Want me to grab something for you before I go?"

David looked at Jorzza "Was told not to by the doctors, they said it could 'Possible hurt the chance of my leg healing'." he laughs and looks at Amanda. He stares for a moment before replying "Um..... Sure Chicken sandwich would be nice."

Amanda laughs "I meant whatever it is you have to climb to get, but sure." She stood and wandered back to the bar.

As Amanda returned, he had an idiotic smile "Oh sorry Amanda."

She returned with a chicken sandwich, shaking her head with a grin "Don't worry about the wire if its going to be too much trouble."

David smiled "Alright."

"So Amanda, any jitters with this thing with fosters?"

Amanda shrugged "Not as much as the first time, I know what to expect now. But, unlike last time, I kinda have a far more important job to do...." She frowned "On second thoughts, I think so actually. Its kinda worrying."

Jorzza nodded "Well talk to us about it. I got em everytime i went on a mission in the Marines and I've had missions on every rock from here to Leeds, Half of them orbital drops"

Amanda nodded. "I guess you guys would be the people to talk to about it. What I'll be doing is nothing on what you guys do, but its still bloody scary."

"I wouldn't sell yourself short. you going to a station that's constantly surrounded by pirates. Nasty stuff"

"Well Tell you what I may be banged up but If you want I can go along with you. " he asked nervously. "I um mean to help anyway that I can."

Amanda shakes her head at David "Nah, you'll be at risk of getting yourself killed out there. But I'll need goods delivered every so often, you could get involved with that?" Amanda shrugs "Apparently they aren't pirates, they're Rogues. I dunno whats worse." She laughed nervously and took another drink

"Nasty bunch they are, on one mission a 12 year old girl was working for them and was holding a man hostage."

David laughed "Hell I get shot at everday in New York by Rogues, Outcast, Hackers, Hell even the Odd Nomad.... But yea I guess your right."

Amanda raised her eyebrows "12? Thats a bit young isn't it?"

"This girl was out of her mind, she was NUTS. she put torture bracelets on a man, who they where giving Cardi to"

David was thinking "And you know this how?"

"I pulled the man out"

Amanda nods, "So they screwed up. Once someone gets taken hostage by them, normally you never hear from them again, right?"

"This man was Lambert. He is Navy. I was also on the S-A-R team trying to find him. we where out in the badlands for....a couple days straight"

David looked at Amanda "Yea I saw that girl, Pita, I think was her name."

"Yes pita. although that girl is in a better place now."

Amanda looked at her glass "Now that could be taken a few different ways. Better place as in dead, or literally a better place?"

"As in she has propper parental figures now."

Amanda nods "Its good to know not all of them are lost causes."

"Look Amanda if it was up to me id be going in with a squad full of marines in Class D combat gear"

Amanda looks at Jorzza "So you think its that..." She paused thinking about how to word it "much of a stretch, huh?"

"Too many uncertainties. Trust me when I say is when there are uncertainties is when people die."

Amanda sighs and plays with her glass "Unfortunately, I gotta make sure that doesn't happen..."

"Just be glad it isn't nomads. nightmare stuff lemme tell you"

David was staring in to space "Trust me I know."

Amanda knocked back her drink, looking deep in thought "I'm... gunna head off, got to make sure I have everything set.."

"Okay. Good luck okay?"

Amanda nods as she stands up. "Yeah.. Thanks, It will be alright."

"Alright by Amanda, I'll bring the Number 8 wire befor you leave."

"Thanks. I'll probably be with my ship." She waved looking a little worried "See you guys later" And headed for the door.

David waved, and smiled at Amanda as she left.

"Well I gotta push off. A couple calls to make concerning Amanda's task."

"Alright I guess I'll be seeing you." Extending his hand

Jorzza extends his right hand and carefully shakes David's. David accepts the hand shake.

"Alright later then." David said as he finished eating his sandwich.

"Navy doesn't talk much, they only tell you half of what you need to know. Anyway see you later man" Jorzza walks out of the room

David laughed. "Right."
"So how's your work been?"

Josie looks across at David "Alright I guess. Its the whole Fosters thing that bugs me"

David nods "Oh?"

"Sending one person into a hell hole. the commander guilt really sticks in"

"Your only sending..." He didn't finish the sentence, his eyes go blank.

"David.....?"

"One person?" He looks at Josie shaking his head.

Amanda wanders into the bar, backpack on her back. She orders 2 cans of cola. Taking her backpack off she puts one in a side pocket before slinging it back over one arm opening the second can. David looked up and saw Amanda come in.

"Hey! I got the Wire for you."

Josie muttered so only David can hear "She's still here, thank god..."

David replied quietly "I know."

"Amanda, your still here?"

Amanda waves at Josie and David before walking across to the table they were at.

"You're a legend, David. Thanks."

"No problem." He looked up at Amanda before his eyes go blank again

She raises the can of Cola "Decided I needed some for the road, I'm about to head off in literally....." Amanda checks her PDA "5 minutes."

"Just so you know, theres still time to pull out if you want."

Amanda shrugs "Nah. The sooner this gets done the better. And anyway..... I know the place. I know the people, and they tend to listen to me. Who better to send in, right?"

"Yeah, it just bugs me, you ever here of Commanders guilt?"

manda shakes her head "No, but I get the general idea of the commanders guilt. You know, I'm choosing to go, I told you that it'd be easier if I was there. Your not making me do it." She shrugs and takes a sip of her cola before checking her PDA again.

"Sorry guys, I really gotta run..... Was there anything I need to know before I leave?"

"Yeah don't die. and stay in touch"

Amanda pokes her tongue out at Josie. "I'm not gunna die, well, not for a looooong while yet anyway."

"Actually there is something I wanted to ask.... wanted to ask you Amanda."

She looks at David "Sure, whats up?"

"Would you like to go for a Bit to eat?" He coughed, clearing his throat "Erm that is when you get back."

Amanda nods. "Sure. That'd be good." She grins "Even more reason not to die out there."

David smiled "Then it's a date."

She sighs as her PDA starts going off. Checking it she shakes her head. "Thats John. I'll see you when I get back.... Josie, I'll let you know when I arrive."

"Damn right you will" She suddenly cheered up

She swears as her PDA goes off again "Alright... Alright, I'm coming...."

David Extends his hand to Amanda with the wire in it, she takes the wire and nods a thanks.

"Sorry... I really really gotta go..... I'll see you later, alright?" She grins and looks at the door, before giving David a hug. "Stay out of trouble."

David returns the hug "You as well."

"Always..." With that she stands and runs to the hanger where her ship is waiting.

"Hey David what do you know about stealth systems?"

David looked at her, looking slightly confused "Nothing really Closest I got was to the 'Net' I created yesterday..... Josie, You have GOT to get me on that base!"

"You know how to shoot?"

"Yea." David nodded

"Back when I was with the Marines during the last 6 month we had this stealth body armor, rated for EVA and everything. We called them Stalker suits. something that would be ideal for this fosters thing. Also david if you want in, im gonna need the medical records with that leg"

David nodded "Alright I'll have the doctor send it to you shortly."

"If you pass the medical check then I suggest you talk to DSE's new security consultant. retired Commander Jorzza Clark. No offence but for this we need people at marine standard of fitness"

"I got this feeling that something not right with Foster's, and I'll be damned if I see another DSE member get hurt. And I'll get right on that" He stands and heads to the door "I'll see you later."

"See you"

David leaves the room making a limping be line for the medical bay. Pat wanders into the bar, ordering a sandwich and a drink. Josie who had been laying there on the deck chiar for a while, asleep sat up and looked around. She saw someone at the bar. Pat takes her sandwich and drink and goes sits by the pool. Nodding a hi at Josie as she walked past. Pat finishes her drink, picking up her sandwich. She looks across at Josie

"Seems the place has been buzzing lately. You know whats going on?"

Josie takes a seat next to Pat. "You know Fosters right?"

Pat nods "Stupid place if I ever heard of one."

"We are going to pull people out of there"

Pat stops and looks at Josie "And how exactly is that meant to happen. Someone is going to end up dead."

"With a cunning plan..."

"Dragging half the military in there? Were a corp. We don't have half of what we need to do it." Pat shakes her head. "How is this meant to be happening?"

"Pat did you know where I worked before I joined this splendid little company"

Pat shakes her head "Possibly.... But I can't remember" She grins sheepishly.

Josie puts her hand on her dogtags. "I was a Marine Lieutenant Commander. During that time I worked with the Primary Fleet, a lot. I still have a few favours and friends in the service. Also you don't need half the navy if you have a plan"

Pat nods looking impressed "Well, might not be all lost then."

"We also had a motto in the service. Leave No Man Behind."

"Yeah. To be honest I never thought that we'd be able to get anyone off there." She pauses for a moment "What's happened so far with the plan."

"We now have a person supplying us intel from the inside"

Pat raises an eyebrow. "You sent someone else in there?"

"As much as I don't like it, its required. we need info. without info, people die"

Pat sighs "I hope you have a bloody good plan. Getting in is a lot easier then getting out.... And I know that from experience"

"I am also working on that. trying to get a hold of a few Stealth suits"

Pat looks around the room putting her sandwich "That'd be a start, I guess. At least tell me you have someone who knows what they are doing getting your intel.."

"Well the person works on the station and knows the place like the back of her hand..."

Pat frowns "That's not what I meant....The people there are..... But I guess if you think it'll work...."

"A million and one things can go wrong. best we can hope is that it goes off with out too many hitches"

Pat sighs "Hopefully....." She asks hesitantly "Was there anything I can help with?"

"Your in the exploration department right?"

Pat nods.

"Can you fly escort for our ships?"

Pat thinks for a moment. "Escort, no. My ship hasn't got enough fire power to be of any help against anything bigger then an arrow.... But I've run scout missions a few times before."

"Okay good. I'm trying to see who is willing from well here. Our new 'security consultant' was a marine he's going to be training people who are going in to pull people out"

"Well. The more I hear, the less..... Hopeless.... it is sounding." Pat smiles.

"Well at least your someone who isn't being as hopeful as the rest"

Pat shrugs "Half the people here have never been near Foster. The other half can't tell you where it is."

"Best kept secrets you know? Fosters doesn't exactly look good for the company"

"Yeah.... I guess people don't want mad scientists on a base held together by.... god knows what.... as common knowledge."

"Let alone the fact that Naval Intel thinks that system is the biggest hub for the Liberty Rogues"

Pat laughs slightly. "Yeah. I'm just gunna say your pretty game. And the.... whoever it was that got roped into going there.... they're braver then I'd ever be."

"According to other people I've always been a bit gung ho but to me, those people shouldn't be left out there to die, or worse. Be under the thumb of that royal douchenozzle Moka"

"Yeah, I've been hearing a bit about him lately. Saw what he did to a kid. Some navy guy took the blame for her killing Marco though." She takes a bite of her sandwich. "Either way. The sooner we get them off there the better it will be for everyone."

"We may have that guy helping us. He's a good man. also I intend on redeeming the favours he owes"

Pat looks up, slightly surprised "Interesting... Seems you have favours owed by all the right people."

"Well I'm also borrowing on that security consultant's. You save a man's life, he owes you for life right? It also helps when you had a nice high security clearance and know things"

Pat grins "That would be helpful."

"Well here's to hoping."

Pat looks at the glass wondering when she finished her drink. "You want a drink or anything?"

"Nah I gotta head out. Gonna try to get some sleep"

Pat shrugs "Sure thing. Maybe next time then yeah?" She stands up "Let me know about this scout business. I haven't got much work lined up so I'm free whenever."

"Don't worry, I'm gonna need all the help I can get on this.... Well cya" Josie makes her way towards the exit.
Willis enters the bar and sits at one of the barstools, orders a lemonade and scrolls pages of his PDA. Jorzza walks into the Cafeteria. Willis gives a nod over his shoulder as Jorzza enters then takes a sip of his drink. Jorzza spots Willis and walks over to him

"You the one who signed up for the insertion team?"

Willis returns a confused look. "Sorry what?"

"Did you volunteer to Josie your services with the insertion team for Fosters

Willis returns to his usual serious face. "My apologies, things have been busy at the shipyard, my mind was elsewhere. Of course, I am willing to help out where I can"

Jorzza dumps the duffel bag infront of Willis. "There is some millitary grade body armor. do you have weapons or do you need some?"

"I have most of my own gear, but your equippment might be more up to date. You know I've seen this one before... Using a stolen imperial shuttle and using a secret imperial code a strike team will land on the moon and deactivate the shield... something like that?" He smiles.

"Not quite."

Wills smirk vanishing "Of course, go on..."

"Close quarter combat is the summary of our mission. Alpha team will be going EVA to secure a ship moor, bravo team will be going in with combat shields to secure the area. Team Charlie will then meetup with Alpha and proceed to wipe the hostiles out..."

"Close quarters eh? I hate that."

"Everyone does."

Will looks off to the side and scratches his stomach then looks back at Jorzza. "But It shoulddn't be a problem"

"During all this we have to meet up with Amanda who has been our contact on the inside and get all the civies off the station and into the now DSE)Arleigh Burke"

Willis' face softens at the mention of Amanda. "Understood"

"Delta will be on stand by if things go pear shapped. Alpha will consist of Marines trained in EVA combat, under my command. Command of Bravo has yet to be decided and Charlie will be under command of Josie who has overall command on the operation"

Willis takes a sip of his lemonade. "Seems like you guys have everything sorted. I'll do my best I'll assure you of that."

"So which team do you want to be on? Bravo, Charlie or Delta?"

"Team Charlie I think would best suit my skills" Willis takes a look inside the duffel bag

"Okay good another person willing"

Looking inside the bag, Willis nods "I think I'lll be taking my knife if it's all the same to you"

"Sure thing, weapons are mostly prefferential. personally ill be taking 2 rifles, a shotgun two pistols and this..."

Jorzza's arm changes and reforms into a very large plasma cannon, Willis nods out of genuine respect at the sight of the plasma cannon

"Impressive. Just try not to hit the airlock with that " He grins.

"Nah some airlocks will withstand one shot...one"

Willis reaches around to his ankle sheath and pulls out a small combat knife. A press of a button near the top of the hilt extends the blade to the length of a short doubble edged sword.

"You just never know what you might need out there" He grins. Willis presses the button again and the sword becomes the size of a pocket knife again, and he returns it to the ankle sheath.

"Oh trust me I know what your saying when you say that. If you want to pick weapons out come to the Salvager, myself and Josie have a, lets just say.........an extensive armory"

"I might just do that." He finnishes his lemonade and stands up. "But I'd better get going again"

"Okay. Also training is tomorrow, attendance is required."

Will looks Jorzza directly in the eye. "I'll be there."

"Damn right you will"

Willis salutes then walks towards the exit, carrying the duffel bag. Jorzza watches as Willis walks out.

"Oh joy training civies. lottsa lottsa fun..."

Willis holds at the exit door and turns around. "Just to clarify, I said I hated close quarters combat. I never said I wasn't any good at it" He smiles and exits the room.

"Oh great arrogance. gotta get that outta him too."
Josie and Jorzza walk in, heading towards the bar. they are arguing.

"We cant have delays. we have people stuck in pirate territory. we need to get them out."

"You asked me to train them, I know you need these people but they are not ready, if my yelling intimidates them to the point where they are scared to shoot they most certainly wont be ready for any kind of combat let alone CQB. throw in civies, forget it. I cant sign off on these folks yet"

David walks in over hearing the last part of the conversation "Hey."

The both of them completely ignore David, while still arguing

"We need to get those people out"

"They are not ready. They will get people killed."

The cafe doors open with a loud bang as a woman walks in wearing brown leather pants, a black leather sleeveless top revealing her abdomen, black combat boots and combat gloves with an old earth marine core sniper rifle strapped to her back, a repeater auto pistol strapped to her thigh, and a combat knife on her right upper arm, she's also smoking a cigar and has a very distinct Liberty Marine tattoo on her left arm. She walks over to the end of the bar and orders a root-beer. The loud bang distracts Josie and Jorzza from their argument and look towards the source of the noise

"Look Jose, they are not ready, trust me on this?"

"Okay fine. but I'm still expecting results"

The woman looks at the two for a second, nods a hello, then returns to her Root-beer. Jorzza looks at the new person

"Hey"

She waves her hand with her cigar in it at him without looking up from her Drink. Suddenly her communicator starts beeping, and it sounds just like a military issue one as well. she picks it up, activates it, then lays it on the counter. the person on the other end is very audible.

"Lt Vasquez, are you there?? ...... LT!!"

"What do you want Admiral?"

"We could really use you back in the Corp, your skillset could be very usefull given the current state of affairs."

"Not interested, I did my duty, now lay off..... and tell your wife I appreciated the cookies."

"BUT LT, if you'd jus...."

She deactivates the coms unit and puts it back in her pocket, then she orders a liberty ale. Jorzza over hears her talk

"What was your unit?"

She looks at Jorzza for a second then turns her head back to her Ale... after a few seconds she replies.

"421st Hell Jumpers."

"Hardcore unit, I was mostly in the 1412th Shock Jumpers. glad to see another Jumper round these parts"

"I think I hitched a ride on the Burke bout 6 months back, you guys sure have a nice ship, though I here it was decom'd 'bout a month or 2 ago." She takes a large puff from her cigar.

"Yeah she was a good ship, still is although the millitary didn't have to gut out everything. myself and Josie spent a good chunk of our careers on that ship. I haven't introduced myself, I'm Jorzza Clark."

She sits there thinking fro a second, then.

"Jorzza Clark, Commander of the Arleigh Burke for 2 years, second in command was Josie Josephine Alibrandi, who spent most of her time aboard the Burk coordinating Ops...*she looks in Josies direction for a split second*..... she also happens to be sitting next to you..................... yeah I've heard of you."

"In that case only half of its true and the other half is classified."

"Yeah the classified bits a good read."

"If you have the clearence of course. But yes they can be a good read, some of them are just horrible"

Vasquez just nods in agreement her face flashing a sorrowful look for a split second before she turns her head from his a bit.

"So what brings you to a corporate station?"

She turns to him with a straight look on her face

"I heard form down the grapevine that a certain ex-marine or two were getting themselves and a few others...*she smirks*... ready for some sort of suicide run into Cassini.... so I thought id see bout joinin' in on the fun." She smiles as she puts the cigar in her mouth to take another puff.

Josie facepalms. "God damnit, it was bloody Samson and his loud mouth"

Vasquez turns to her ale "Nope, you just need more secure comms." She takes a large swig.

"What's next you opening my mail?

"Not me." She takes another puff from her cigar.

"So I'm guessing you want to go where the action is?"

She looks at him out of the corner of her eyes. "Lets just say that if I hear bout a fellow marine or two heading into a situation that they might not come back from... well I feel a bit obliged to help them out..... plus I've got a bit of unfinished business out in Cassini, so its not exactly out of the way for me."

"I've gone into worse and comeback fine. its not as if its glowies"

She suddenly snaps her head towards him with a look of utter rage on it. "Do NOT mention those... Things... round civies, got it, commander."

"Trust me I know what they are like. but the squiddies are the worst kept secret of the military. at least the public doesn't know what they can really"

Quick as lightning, she jumps off of her stool, OVER Jorzza's head, lands behind him and already has her pistol to his back. "Stop Talking Marine."

"Stand down grunt." Josie had her pistol at Vasquez

Jorzza smiled "Its good to surround yourself with people you can trust"

The clip is seen falling from the pistol, as Vasquez releases Jorzza, and steps back from him, she hands Josie her now empty pistol. "Nobody said anything about the rank admiral Toplman called me being my real one." She smiles, her cigar still in her mouth

"Never worked with Toplman, I was with the Primary Fleet under Admiral Baker."

She just stands there between the two smiling. "Never said what branch Toplman was with now did I?"

"Im guessing your a spook. six months ago you said. when we where testing the Stalker suits. we had a lot of spooks around"

Suddenly there's a slight static charge that flows through Jorzza and Josie, then Vasquez completely disappears.

Jorzza stands up and turns around and levels his arm at a point "Careful now, there's civies around"

"That guy in the corner cant see me from this angle and the girl that walked in is to tired to notice...... and I didn't know that the military issued such... ill say complex, prothstesis to ex corp members." She quickly returns to visibility, as she does the thin see through membrane that covers her entire body is seen for a split second befor it fades back into her skin.

"There is no such thing as an ex-marine"

She smiles "True." She reaches her hand out to shake his. "Eva Vasquez, at your service Commander, but you can just call me Ghost."

"I'm not calling you ghost, every rookie calls themselves something stupid like that."

She laughs a bit. "Your just like they say you are.... just call me Eve, everybody does... least everyone that I like does..." She turns to look at Josie. "Could I get my Pistol back, I feel a bit naked without it?"

"Sure thing" Josie hands back the pistol with the barrel pointed down

Eve takes her pistol from Josie and spins it in her hand as she holsters it. "Well ill see you two in a bit, I need to go and see about getting some quarters." Eve exits the Cafe by kicking the doors open

Josie and Jorzza walk into the room wearing thier custom body armor which is coated in a fine layer of Pittsburg's harsh dust. They head straight to the bar and order food Josie looks at Jorzza

"I forgot how much dust storms are a pain in the ass"

"Yeah sandpits are annoying"

David enters the Cafe sitting at a table before standing up and going to grab a sandwich. Pat walks into the bar, and orders a strong coffee. Taking a bit out of his sandwich

"Hey there. Slow day?"

She shrugs "No. Hence the coffee."

"I see..... Anywho how has your day been so far?" He asks taking another bit into his sandwich

She shrugs and takes a seat. "You don't wanna know. Yours?"

"Got stop by some Rogues up there in Humboldt. will delivering the Shield and nano bots."

Pat nods "Thought Rogues were meant to be.... Who knows. Oh, Got a message from Amanda for you."

His face lights up "Really? What's it say, how is she?"

Pat grins "Thought you'd like that. She says hi, and that she's alright. Apparently she's finding it harder this time, probably because there is no set date to get off there. Sounds like she's doing good though."

Chris stomps into the bar, wearing his flight suit and helmet. Pat looks across at Chris as he enters the bar. Chris examines the bar over, and sees Pat and David, he walks over to them.

"Hey guys, what's going on?"

She shrugs "Not a hell of a lot really. I've taken 5 minutes to have a coffee before I get back to work."

"Wow that's good to hear but I wish there was somthing I really could do to see her again. Next time you see here pat tell her I'm glad to hear." He smiles and notices Chris "Oh What's up Chris?"

He nods "I just got off my shift actually, came in to see what's going on. Who are we talking about anyway?"

"Amanda" David says quickly

"Oh, I see, mind if I take a seat?" He gestures to a seat

David Shrugs "Go right ahead."

Chris takes a seat, pulling off his helmet, setting it down on the table with a thud "Feels good to be back in space."

Pat nods "Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Apparently I got somewhere to go check out tomorrow."

David plugs his nose and waves the air "Jezzzz do you ever clean that thing?" He smiles.

Chris laughs "Sorry, got caught in a scrap while on escort, gets tense, can't help it if I need sweat to save people like you." He winks at David

"Alright. How's that ship of your's Chris?"

Chris looks over at David "Handles better after Hikari had her, definitely above the stock specifications... You can feel it too, glides into the turns and puts out harder... Not to mention the cockpit is much more... Vibrant."

David smiles "I wonder why." He winks at Chris.

Chris smirks "Hikari's been a blessing for sure, had to work a bit to make sure she stays afloat..." He chuckles at his joke

"Work on what? the ship?"

"No, I mean Hikari... I guess you had to be there to understand what I mean..."

"I see."

Chris puts his hands across his chest "So, you know so much about my love life, I'd like to hear about yours, who are you dating?"

"Right now? No one."

"Hmph, well, when you get in one, I'll be sure to constantly bother about it."

"That a deal?"

Pat checks the time on her PDA and jumps up "I gotta go.... Kinda late...." She takes her coffee and runs out of the bar towards the hanger.

He chuckles "Yeah, but I feel somehow I'm never going to be able to bother you about it"

David waves a goodbye to Pat "We'll see. I'm hoping that Amanda get's back soon."

"Oh, what are you thinking about her?"

Josie walks into the room, she has a small gash on her arm.. She walks over to the bar and orders a BLT sub with chicken strips and habenero hot sauce. Chris turns in his seat and waves.

"Yo!"

"Oh hey Chris"

"Get into a knife fight?"

"Yes, training for the Fosters Op is still going slow. Had a training session. 12 on one and only a mere scratch. I'm satisfied with that"

"I don't believe that."

"Well I was unarmed. they had knives."

"Why do I feel there are extenuating circumstances...."

"That challenge was for them to get me on my ass. they failed."

Pat wanders back into the bar and takes a seat in the corner playing with her PDA.

"Hm. Somehow, I still don't believe, the odds are insurmountable..."

"Your forgetting I served as a special forces marine for many years"

"Were they all civilians with knives? That's the only explanation I see..."

"They volunteered with this Fosters Op. They need training. and with CQB you need to learn hand to hand combat"

He nods solemnly "Maybe I should sign up for it..."

"Well the current batch is pretty lack lustre, hence why you have seen some more marines about the place"

Chris fiddles with his helmets visor before finally getting up. "I'm going to get a beer, want anything?"

"No thanks." Josie takes a big bite out of her sub

Chris sees Pat, and waves to her "Why not come join us?"

Pat looks up and sees Chris waving, she waves back and shrugs "Sure, why not." She stands and goes takes a seat by them.

Chris returns with a beer and takes a seat "So, what's your take on this foster base Pat?"

Pat looks at Chris. "You don't wanna know what I think about Fosters."

"Well, I got enough of an idea from that statement..."

She grins "I'll try be a happy cynic."

"Right, I'll just be here, shooting stuff and drinking beer..." He takes a swig from his beer.

"You do that Chris, its what your good at right?"

Pat tries to hide a giggle. Chris looks at her cooly

"Yeah, something like that, I have other skills, far less interesting"

"I'm still not exactly sure what you do around here. besides drinking the booze and taking a pay check"

Chris shoots her an aggravated glare "I'm the security operations supervisor, I also act as an escort pilot."

"Uh huh. well does supervising involve hitting the bar a lot?"

"My names not Roger Denian, now is it?"

"I dunno, you tell me?"

"What the hell did I do to you?"

"I dunno, I just expect things"

"Well, I can tell when I'm not wanted..." Chris picks up his helmet and puts it under his arm. "See you Pat."

She nods "I'll see you later"

"Oooookay"

Chris leaves the bar.
Pat walks into the bar and goes to order a cola before taking a seat in the corner. Chris stomps in his full flight suit, and pulls his helmet off, throwing it into a nearby wall, visibly cracking it.

"Bad day, huh?"

"Tenneco went down, and we lost some people, what'dya think?"

Pat frowns and stands up "What?! Why weren't our security guys there.... And what hapepend to all this cash we were paying out to people to keep the damn thing alive?!"

Chris shrugs "I don't ******* know, all I know is that I was stuck in that backwards ass system taking fire from everything, while I watched the base get torn to shreds!"

"Ah, ****...." Pat shakes her head, clearly not

David enters the room, looking angry. "What the **** was that!"

Pat looks at David still not sure what she should be saying or doing.

"I swear" walking over to Chris "thanks for trying but how the **** do Rogues allow one to get our base attacked after we payed them!

Pat hears this "Wait..... Wait, wait, wait.... ROGUES killed it?"

"No Some Indies did along with my repair ship."

Chris is agitated by his mood "What were you doing there? The last thing I needed on my mind, was you in my cargo hold, you're lucky I tractored your ass instead of docking and taking my chances with an exploding station to get the others, I told you not to come out!"

"No! I was told by John that the base need some Nano and shield mites! I thank you for tractoring me in,but dont get all yelly at me."

Chris waves his hand dismissing the whole thing, and retrieving his helmet "This is bull, now my fighters trashed, the base is gone, and I have to figure out what the hell happened to my backup!"

Josie walks in looking mad.

"I know how you feel but noting is going to get done if we do shit all hot head like."

"Nothing was done when we did it level headed, and that cost us lives... I guess you just don't understand." He storms off.

Josie heads straight for the bar, anger radiating around her Pat watches the two fight, and Josie walk in.

"So... We got noone outta there?" she says quietly.

He sighs "Sure I don't understand."

Josie orders some thing to take the edge off. She downs her drink and begins pacing around the room. Pat takes a seat quietly, watching Josie pace.

"******* MONSTERS. I just want to rip someones headoff. ******* cowards dont have the stones unless they have overwhelming forces. COWARDS, ******* COWARDS THE LOT OF THEM."

Pat shakes her head "Josie. What happened out there?"

"******* Pirates send capital ships to destroy a CIVILLIAN STATION!"

David shaking his head in agreement "Pat I'm going off to find Amanda. Can you tell deliver the message?"

Pat looks at David "Uhhhh..... David, you sure thats a good idea....." She looks back at Josie "Was it Rogues?"

"I don't give a shit if its a good Idea or not if that shit happends again I don't think I can go another day thing with out thinking about her."

"Rogues, Outcasts, Indians. You fucking name it." Josie kicks over a chair

David walks out from the Cafe.

Pat facepalms "I thought we paid them for protection..... And David....."

"The **** is David doing?"

"It sounds like hes going to go to Fosters...."

"He does anything to screw the plan up i will shoot him myself."

Pat looks at Josie blankly "You gotta tell Amanda hes headed up there. Knowing her, she'll have the place set to blow up anything that gets close to it."

Josie stops pacing and sits down "Your right. I will also put a no fly on his ships"

osie pulls out a small tablet and press some buttons and sends a heavily encrypted signal

Pat shakes her head "If he doesn't get killed, someone will. We don't need that, not with this much risk....." Pat pauses for a moment "Whats stopping us from getting in there and doing it?"

"Us. we dont have the experience or people up to the cut"

Pat nods "I can help if you need the man power.... I cant fly anything too big, but I can shoot straight and not get killed."

"Its the forces going in we are having issues getting. sure some of the security guys are to to the challenge. some are signed on but most left the millitary to be here to pay for thier families."

"DSE is not the millitary. We dont have willing folk in abundance outside the millitary"

Pat thinks for a minute. "There is no other way of doing this? As in we can't go in in smaller numbers..."

"I would do that if we had the experience, thing is we dont."

She nods "Alright. So, we need to get more people, who know what they are doing.... And untill we do, Amanda and the crew are stuck there.... And David if we don't stop him."

"If I see him there when we go in. He will be left there, I'll shoot him in the kneecaps"

She grins slightly. "Alright, I wont argue that. Think you should let her know.... just in case. I don't think she would take it well out there if she kills one of her own. The girl wont hurt a damn fly half the time."

"Fair enough. Its still a lenghty flight from here to Fosters so we have time"

She nods "He better not do anything stupid......"

"Damn right he better not. Is it me or are things really turning to **** around here?"

Pat sighs "The sooner things get back to normal the better. People are on edge with the new marines... The Fosters thing, bases being built.... Too much is happening and we just dont have the man power..."

"Well we are down a base"

"That wont help anything..... Not with the loss of.... It wont help."

"What makes it better, I only found out about an hour or so ago. no one told me. bloody hell stations are my department"

"Your kidding, right? Theres no one else who can take it on while your sorting this Fosters thing.... Its kind of a bit more important then base building....."

"It just annoys me that I was asleep at the time"

Pat nods "Most of us would have been... But what happened to back up, or support... or anything like that.... They cut the communication lines or something?"

"Who knows. Now we gotta send a recovery team to at least recover the black boxes"

Pat sighs "Want me to go scout it out? Make sure there is no one hanging about trying to find it.... My ship should be able to avoid most things they send my way."

"Its up to you"

Rinoa walks in looking angered

She nods "I guess, at least then we can give people some kind of idea as to what happened.... And you wont be sending a recovery team into a trap. Better to send one in first."

"Good thing I got insurance bumped to premium on the Phoenix last month. It was docked on Tenneco."

"Careful"

Pat looks at Josie, deep in thought not hearing Rinoa's comment. "Where do I sign up to help get Amanda off..... Shes a friend, I can't leave her out there."

Josie pulls out a couple forms from her pocket. "Read it carefully"

Pat nods and takes the forms, starting to read over them.

"So which part to you want to take part in? The insertion teams or the escorting forces?"

Pat thinks "Insertion, you need people who are good at combat, right?"

"Yea, theres a selection process after you sign up. pretty much you have to pass training which is run By Jorzza, you have probably seen him around"

"I Think i can talk Marco's friend into helping out."

Josie pulls out more forms. "If so give them this and put them into contact with me"

"How many more people are you hoping to get..."

"About 30. The only team we have actually ready to go is an alpha team which consists of 8 Jump Jet marines like myself."

Pat looks at her, not sure she wants to hear the answer "How many have you got.... And how many do you think are about ready to.... Well, how many are ready."

"Including myself theres Willis, Ohms and about 6 others so we need 13 people"

Pat facepalms. "Want me to see what I can do...?"

"Sure thing"

Pat laughs "If I can get him in on this, I dont want anything to do with him alright? Hes my ex. Old security guy.... He knows his stuff."

Vasquez walks into the bar and sees Josie and pat. shes carrying a slightly odd shaped container and heads in their direction.

"Well theres 4 teams, the alpha team which will be the first team going in via eva and securing the mooring port. Bravo team which will set up a checkpoint at the mooring port if things turn to hell and Charlie team which will be the main team and along with Alpha will sweep through the facility. Delta team will be there if we can get over the 30 people mark"

Vasquez suddenly thinks of something the turns and walks back out of the bar.

Pat nods. "Just make sure him and I are on different 'teams' and I'll be happy..... Hes a bit rough, but... Yeah."

"I can make no promises"

She laughs "At least tell me you'll try..."

"I will move people around to where they will be of most use"

Pat nods "Fine. If you put him in my team, I'll probably start smoking again, just so you know." She says jokingly.

"Theres still part B of the plan"

Pat looks at her "And what would that be?"

"While people are being pulled out we move in a................decive. near the reactor"

Pat looks at her "What kind of device....."

"Well its more......parts of a device, that will be assembled on site.... It may or may not be the kinda thing you would use to power a type 24 gunboat.... That may or may not be set to overload."

Pat nods "Right. I see."

"I take it you can figure it out from there."

Pat nods "I get the general idea. And Im guessing the general idea is to keep that on the down low?"

"yup"

She nods "Alright. Well, if anyone asks I don't know anything. Better that way."

"And if they decide to push the question. Shoot em."

Pat laughs "I'll need a gun for that. I left all mine back at my old place. Never really thought I'd have a use for them again once I joined DSE."

"Well if you need guns pop around the salvager i have a small selection if weapons"

Pat grins "Sounds good to me.... I'm guessing I'll be best to have one if Im planning on helping out anyway, right?"

"Well information is just as valuable in wafare as weapons"

She nods "Except for when your facing angry Rogues, Im guessing."

"Pffft they are just savage dogs."

Pat has a sip of her drink "You know this?"

"Remember I served in the millitary, I have shot Rogues."

She nods "I forget that sometimes."

Pat wanders into the bar with a man who hadn't been here before. The two were arguing. She orders something alcoholic and takes a seat at a table. He follows her, still arguing what ever point he was trying to make. Josie walks in while doing things with her PDA. Pat doesn't notice Josie walk in. She swears at the man and tells him to shut up. Josie gets distracted by the yelling.

"OI! keep it down. just because in space no one can hear you scream, doesnt mean you have to try to prove it wrong"

Pat glares at Josie "I swear.... If you put me on the same team as him....."

"Pat, you seem nice, but I will put people where they are needed, I wont do it due to personality issues."

She stands up and storms out of the bar, clearly upset. The man sits at the table watching her go.

Josie looks over to the man. "You the person Pat was telling me about?"

He shrugs. "I'm Mark."

"I'm Josie"

"So you're the one Pat was telling me needs bodies for whatever it is you're doing."

"I guess so, in between you two trying to start a unstable nuclear reaction? ... Did Pat give you the information or did the afore mentioned nuclear reaction happen before that?"

"She told me you needed help, I got here and..... Well, we don't see eye to eye often nowdays." He smirks.

"Even if you do sign up you need to pass training and certification"

He nods. "Shouldn't be a problem. Was a cop for a few years, 'retired' and got bored so now I'm in security."

"Yeah this is special forces level millitary training. and no offence, cops cant seem to hit the broadside of a planet"

He smiles "Is that right?"

"Yeah. Also cops aim for nonleathal shots as standard operating proceedure. Millitary aims for killshots."

"Yeah, I guess you're right there. Killing someone on the job never looks good as a cop."

"Exactly. Millitary tactics require, when you put someone

[color=#FFD700]"Aim for the head not the knee kinda stuff then?"
He looks around the bar "So, when training start?"

"Did you see the Salvager moored outside when you came to the station?"

He nods "Thought it looked a bit out of place."

"Well thats my salvager and where training is being done. Training is being run by Jorzza Clark, a former Commander in the millitary."

He nods "Alright. Where do I sign up?"

Josie puts some forms on the table. "Read it throught and sign it."

He nods "Mind if I bring these back to you? I like to know what I'm signing."

"Sure thing. It pretty much lines out death benefits to any family, healthcare for injuries sustained during the mission, Basic stuff"

"Alright. I'll have a read and bring this back to you in an hour or two."

He stands and offers his hand for a hand shake. Josie shakes the mans hand

"See you later." He turns and heads out of the bar.

Josie stands up and walks out of the cafeteria

On a ship moored to Doe Industries Space Port there is a ship, a former Naval transport ship used to train and transport Marines to and from combat. Today it is under the ownership of Deep Space Engineering. It was back in the service the Arleigh Burke, today under the ownership of DSE it resumes its old duty of training people for combat, something which many had thought it would ever do again.

Day One of Training
"Never thought you'd be doing this again eh Jo-Jo?" Josie said to Jorzza smirking.
"Well i had considered becoming a D.I. But this?" Jorzza replied. "These guys are mostly corporate rent-a-cops who fancy themselves gunslingers and want fame and glory" He looked at Josie with an expression that said "I'm about to have a wondrous time....no really."
"Well get them into something of a proper force, not a force to be reckoned with, i don't expect that, that'd be a bloody miracle and as far as i know your not Senior Drill Instructor Bulgess from way back when." Josie said watching as people started filing into the cargo hold.
"Show time Mister D.I." She said pushing him forward.
Jorzza walked over to the group of people and surveyed the recruits.
"ATTEN-SHUN!" He shouted. some of the group turned to look at what the noise was, but most kept going with their conversations.
"I said ATTEN-SHUN!" he shouted once more but this time louder, the noise echoing through out the hold. everyone turned to look and some looked stunned.
"YOU ARE NOW MY PROPERTY UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT YOU QUIT OR THE MISSION IS COMPLETED. THE FIRST AND LAST THINGS OUTTA YOUR SLIMY HOLES WILL BE SIR, DO I MAKE MY SELF CLEAR?" Jorzza shouted at the trainees.
"YES SIR" the group acknowledged
"WHAT!" Jorzza shouted once more
"SIR YES SIR!"
"Good. I am retired marine commander Clark, i will be your senior drill instructor. you are here to be trained on how to fight, how walk, talk, shoot and eat. Just because this is a corporation and you volunteered for this does not make you special, it does not give you the right to believe you are the real deal, the actual thing, this does NOT make you equal to those serving men and women in Infantry. NOW form six lines." Jorzza yelled at the trainees.
The group jumped into action quickly forming the lines. But one person scrambled about not knowing what he was doing. Jorzza immediately spotted this and walked right up to the man's face
"WHATS YOUR NAME!" Jorzza yelled.
"uh..um....Shane...Paul Shane, sir." he replied.
"WELL SHANE, do you know what a line is? or are you JUST OUT IN THE AETHER!" Jorzza yelled.
Shane quickly scrambled into a line.
Jorzza walked in front of the lines, surveying each person until he came round to the first person in the sixth line.
"YOU, WHATS YOUR NAME!" He asked
"Crawshaw, Ben Sir!" He replied
"WHY ARE YOU HERE?" Jorzza asked once again
"T-to find a direction...sir" He replied
"Do i look like star map to you?" Jorzza said lowering his voice.
"Sir, No Sir" Crawshaw replied.
"I am a road map, I will lead and you will follow, i will teach and you will learn" Jorzza said going down the lines.
"YOU, LET ME HEAR YOUR BATTLE CRY!"
"aaaaaarrrhhh" he tried to yell, his voice breaking
"PATHETIC! ALIBRANDI GET OVER HERE AND SHOW THIS MAGGOT WHAT A REAL MARINE BATTLE CRY IS!" Jorzza ordered
Josie stormed over
"YEEEEAAARRRGGGGHH!!" Josie yelled.
"AAAAAARRGGHH!" the trainee yelled
"STILL PATHETIC! In space no one can hear you scream unless it is the battle cry of a Liberty Naval Marine. now you may not ever be the real thing but hear me when i say i will run you ragged, i will work you like dogs, i will make you somewhat worthy of the title of 'marine'." Jorzza pressed on.
Some people laughed. Bad luck for them.
