Rikku smiled as the passengers boarded her ship, the Bora Bora. They were fancy-types, all dressed up in expensive clothing... almost made her feel bad, wearing such casual clothing; a synth-leather jacket cut short, a kyushu miniskirt, and calf-high boots. Oh well, she was comfortable, that was all that mattered.

As the last of the VIP's boarded the ship - there were 10 in all - she closed up the hatch and showed them around to their rooms, the dining area, and finally the bridge. This was only going to be a day-long trip, so they probably wouldnt need the rooms, but... she looked at two of the guests, younger rich folk, making out in the corner of the ship... y'never know.

"Oki everyone, the trip t'day will take us out to planet maine for a few hours, we'll have lunch there. Then we'll head out on a tour around new york, where you'll get to see all the shipyards and even a navy battleship if we're lucky!"

They didnt seem to pay much attention to her, they just kept looking around the ship... a bit snobbish werent they? Oh well, Rikku thought as she headed up to the cockpit.

She started up the ship and cleared takeoff with manhattan control...

After leaving the atmosphere and clearing the trip with a pair of navy patrol fighters, Rikku turned the ship towards planet maine. Rather than take the trade lanes, she'd be making the trip on cruise engines - the longer they spent in space, the more money the passengers had to pay, after all. It also gave them time to admire the system, whereas the trade lanes sent you rocketing by so fast you never got to see anything.

"Ok everyone! if you look out to the right you can see the only star of the new york system, pretty huh?"
The passengers mumbled approval as they flew past the blazing sun.

After a little under an hour they reached maine. Rikku set the Bora Bora on auto-pilot orbiting the planet while she prepared lunch for the passengers. Most of the passengers chose to eat up on the bridge so they could admire the snowy planetoid below, Rikku smiled now that they were finally enjoying themselves.

As they were finishing lunch, the ship alarm sounded and the entire vessel shook from an explosion outside. What the hell was going on? Rikku rushed up to the bridge, the passengers were panicking and pointing out the viewport... Rogues. Rikku rushed to the pilot seat and hastily hit the comm button... it had been kept silent so background chatter wouldnt bother the guests. The rogues were demanding everything of value on her ship over comms.

"We know you've got something worth taking over there! hand it over or we'll destroy your ship!"

Rikku grinned, there were only three fighters, she knew her ship could handle them. She replied over the comm, "Sorry boys but you're not takin anything, best leave now before you find yourselves in some real trouble!"

"Destroy that ship, we'll take the loot from her smoldering hull!"

Rikku powered up the Bora Bora's defensive grid. Nine GMG Skyblast B turrets were positioned around the hull - no part of the ship was left undefended. The defensive system was automated; once activated, it would destroy any target she selected from sensor contacts. She designated the first rogue fighter, and the turrets lit up as they pummeled the ship with photon bursts. It didnt last ten seconds before falling apart, the pilot screaming in fear as he hit the eject button.

The other two pilots didnt stick around for the same to happen to them, they hit cruise and fled the scene... running with their tails between their legs, scooping up their ejected comrade along the way.

Rogue Attack

Once the rogues had been dealt with, Rikku took the bora bora back towards fort bush. Most of the passengers had gone from fear to grinning like little kids at how easy a pirate group had been dispatched... they felt invincible now.

So invincible, that they wanted to check out the badlands, the most dangerous area in all of new york. Rikku thought they were crazy, but all ten of the passengers offered up bonus pay to be taken there. She ditched the plan to go sight-seeing around norfolk and headed towards the badlands.

They entered aside the trade lane heading to the old Ithaca research station. The deep purple cloud was beautiful... Rikku had only seen it from the edges before, never from the inside.

She took the ship deeper into the cloud, towards what was left of Ithaca.

She pointed out ithaca research station as they neared it, and moved in close so the passengers could see what was left of the facility. It wasnt much more than a skeletal structure now, almost all the valuable equipment and containers that used to be part of the station had been salvaged by rogues a long time ago in order to construct new fighters for their pirating attacks.

She guided the bora bora further into the cloud. The ship's sensors beeped a warning as a gravitational anomaly was detected... up ahead, slowly coming into focus through the thick purple cloud, was some kind of strange light... unlike anything she - or the passengers - had ever seen before. It was beautiful, but Rikku kept her ship at a distance to avoid any ill effects it might have cause.

After admiring the strange light for some time, Rikku decided it was time to head back home. Every minute they spent in the cloud raised the chances of getting caught by the rogues... and this time there would likely be more than three.

As they moved out of the badlands, they came into a 'clearing' of sorts... a bubble in the cloud that was devoid of the nebula particles. It created a beautiful effect, however, showing the distinct coloration of the cloud just outside the bubble, like viewing the ocean from a glass ball.

Surprisingly, Rikku was able to get the ship back to manhattan without so much as a hint at rogue or outcast fighters coming their way. After landing back on manhattan, she thanked each of the guests as they departed the bora bora - all of them handing her a 'bonus' for the trip into the badlands. She had never seen so much money before...

//borderworlds transport
*drool*
costs 42 million credits, has 3600 cargo space... turns like a brick though. Has similar stats to the firefly transport with worse handling and a larger 'target' for enemies.

It has 9 turret hardpoints, five rear firing and four forward firing, and it can fire five to either side of the ship. I didnt use transport turrets on mine though, she's got nine GMG skyblast B class 5 fighter turrets for show. Enough to hold off NPC's but not enough to deal with players.
