Omicron 100 is home to all of The Order's classified construction and research projects, this guy was intruding without authorization. That's why he was killed, if you cant grasp the concept of killing someone for an RP reason then maybe you dont belong here.

RL =/= FL.

Lovely statement. A concept you cannot grasp is fair play. I however, am not about to suggest you leave the server or call into question you being here because of it. Have fun knowing that you may just have contributed to the cap-whore problem you whinge about so tenuously.

it's a roleplay server, you act as if your faction would in a 'real life' situation.

I rest confident knowing that most of those capwhores are going to end up in liberty and i have nothing to do with that house in it's entirety anymore.

' Wrote:How do you set up a character in Rheinland/Bretonia/Kusari/Omicrons, if once you leave NY you are fair game?

It does not allow the player to go and get set up.

Hm, good point. Maybe a special ID that gives you permission to go to main faction bases (guard systems, nomad systems and the like don't count in this), but that you can only use it for a it (not sure how that could be set so that it "expires", maybe just a really low level limit)

In RL, there is a concept called morality, along with another one called fairness.

Not to mention a lack of spaceships.

In the next mod we might have a /startas command, so the issue negates itself.

I don't think you get it. On an RP server, you act like you would in real life IF you were in the future. HOWEVER. Being in the future doesn't change the fact that people don't trust each other in general; if someone was intruding, especially into a powerful group like the Order, they wouldn't hesitate to blow them out of space.

Not when it comes to governments and militaries.

Considering, how strict people are nowadays are about what is roleplay and what is not?

It will cause a drop in players as people cannot try before they buy. *Sigh.*
yeah I'm getting pretty sick of people who never owned a set of polyhedral dice telling me what role play is and is not.

"I didn't read your RP threads but you're oorp and I'm telling on you."

@ SwissScorch: Well ... killing a level 5 would be quite difficult for a player character in Omicron 100. Why? Because a level 5 would not last the onslaught of the Order NPCs. I just went through Omicron 100 in a new character I built the other day ... at level 26 he was slaughtered in under 10 seconds. Here's a bit of education for everyone on guard systems.

1. Guard systems are much more difficult to gain neutral to green with ... thus seeing someone under 30 in a guard system being neutral to green is gonna be an extremely rare sight

2. Only guard systems can be owned

3. There is only 1 guard system for each faction ... so turning Alaska into a Liberty Guard system would mean saying goodbye to Virginia as a Liberty Guard system

4. If you are green to ... lets say Order Guard ... then you'll most likely be red to normal Order enemies ... you'd have to spend a long time building up a rep to even purchase the Order ID and then to get neutral to the Order Guard for them to not attack you ... you'd need to be green with normal Order

5. Only way an under 30 player can be neutral or green with Order Guard is if they spent a LONG time working Order missions in Omicron Minor ... kinda impossible for an under 30 to fight those missions ... so you'd have to be higher than 30 to build the rep and then once the neutral to green rep was obtained you'd have to buy a small ship and transfer all your credits to another character

@ ryoken: Bs| own Omicron 100 ... if they say indie Order can enforce Bs| laws ... that's on Bs| shoulder. BUT ... if you indies violate "server rules" while you are doing so ... any sanctions placed on you can also affect Bs|. Read the rule ... the Bs| leadership is responsible for indies that Bs| leadership have endorsed. We're not talking about just following Bs| laws ... we're talking about server rules. If an Order indie approved by Bs| to enforce Bs| law engages cruise to catch a reporter ship in thruster or any other server rule that IS still enforceable ... Bs| will be just as culpable.

@ HellFire0: Tenacity can complain all he wants. But if you care to notice ... most complaints in the forums come from lawfuls and semi-lawfuls. The Diamond/Niobium run receives more complaints from "traders" than from pirates.

@ Tenacity: I'm not going to rebut everything in this forum ... but I will say this ... 1) Liberty takes their KoS beyond Virginia (so this point was not about Order) ... 2) there are more indies than there are members of these factions (this typically leads to a lot of OORP and capwhoring).

@ EVERYONE (including myself): As far as role play goes ... worry about your own role play before calling someone else OORP. If you find someone utterly OORP ... take a few screens and forward them to the admins via the violation report system. We are getting way too carried away with trial by forum. And that is exactly what this thread is.

Back @ Tenacity: I know this is your pet peeve and you are serious about this ... but don't you think it would be more effective if people would join the factions who own the system and be productive role players than to get all ticked off to the point you gotta build a non-faction member indie to satisfy your personal crusade. I've come to accept the traders who constantly travel via Chugoku and Hokkaido using these "classified" jump holes. Instead of complaining in the forums about them ... I just pirate them ... I get to role play with them the best I can and even get to educate a few. Believe it or not, the Black.Pearl has actually managed to educated a few traders on the notorious Diamond/Niobium run. These traders have actually shaped up and improved their role play.

So ... are we gonna be constructive or continue down this path of destruction?

Well Baltar, I agree with most of the things you've said there. But if we turned Alaska into a guard system, we could just make it LSF, since I don't think they have a guard system yet. Then again, maybe making Alaska a guard system is a bad idea, since it's also a Nomad system. Maybe just say it uses the same rules as a guard system?

Kind of overkill on the "path of destruction" thing, don't'cha think?:P

I personally didn't know that all those systems were guard systems. It's quite possible someone would go through one of those systems to reach another because it's the only route they know. Not all of us have the entire map of sirius memorized. New people, like myself, have to actually explore things to find out what's where.

I didn't even know you could get anywhere going through Alaska, even though I've been there several times now. Heck, I don't even know another way to get to Alpha from omicron delta without going through either Omicron 100 or the long route from Omega 41. And since I'm not logged in with a ship that has that section mapped right now, I could even be wrong about that.
