Erm, excuse me for interrupting. But I have a slight point to make.

I believe we are mixing genetic heritage and cultural heritage.

The very fact that we today see a distinct "American" and "British" culture would be a shock to someone from 1700s, because back then we were all British. In fact, a few short months before the Revolutionary War, pubs in Boston and all over New England were raising their mugs in celebration of King Henry's birthday, and the war was seen as a largely civil war at the time. What I'm trying to get at is that we may be Canadians, Americans or British, but a truly objective person would see the three of us bicker and ask what all the fuss is about. I think that we should all step back a second and look at what we're arguing about. Liberty is not the United States, even though it may be modeled after it. Xing has already roleplayed a French Canadian leading a battlegroup of Liberty ships, and we've also got Pueblo Station and a few stations named after truly Mexican areas. Personally, I'd like to see more Mexican systems being added. (San Diego is a border station for crying out loud)

Summary: We are culturally similar enough, I don't see why we can't extrapolate a future where the political boundaries have shifted.

Also, on the Hispania thing: Look where Cadiz is located. And Trafalgar. I think the developers where going for a more Napoleonic Spanish view of at least the Corsairs.

I think the fist covered most of the points.

Anyhow in my opinion the canadas systems should have some kind of athonomy in rp terms even if they are closely related lets say with Bretonia.
