Suspicious Military Actions

Responding to an emergency call I deployed into Hudson system. There, I encountered an entire Military battlegroup including a Bismarck and other heavy assets sitting idly in front of the Hamburg Jump Gate while a large battle between Liberty Navy, Liberty Security Force, Auxesia versus Unioners, Liberty Rogues and the Order was taking place just 8-9K away. Here is a short analysis of what transpired:

  1. Despite the fight taking place well within Rheinland territory our Military did not engage the hostiles.

  2. I requested multiple times to be invited into the shared communications of our forces but all my requests were ignored as well as the invitations I sent.

  3. Eventually U-101 arrived and after I provided a sitrep we attacked the enemies of Rheinland. In all cases the Military remained uninvolved and did not aid us.

  4. What is even more concerning and suspicious is that Vizeadmiral Kreuzer ordered the Liberty forces to disengage and return to their side of Hudson. In unison, Gunda Riehl of the Unioners also asked the same. That would have resulted in BDM ships being overwhelmed and destroyed while Rheinland's enemies escaping intact. Fortunately for us, the Admiral of the 5th Fleet was well-aware of the treaty and rebuffed Kreuzer's order.

Quote:[RM]RWK-Elbe: Kreuzer: This is Vizeadmiral Reinhold Kreuzer speaking to the Liberty forces, return to your side of the zone.
UN|Gunda,Riehl: Riehl: Wait - did the Liberty navy cross into Rheinland territory?
[RM]RWK-Falkengraf: All ships, all callsigns are hereby notified to exit the Rheinland zone of Hudson with immediate effect. No exceptions.
5th|Sophia.Cleveland: By the Peace Treaty we are allowed to enter the Rheinland side while we are fighting, when the fight started on the Liberty side.

  5. During a critical moment an Order Battlecruiser entered the fray and from the dialogue it was revealed that the Unioners have cooperated and assisted the terrorist organization known as The Order in the past.

Quote:CV-Selket: Webb: "This is the Selket, moving in to provide aid to the Unioners."
UN|Gunda,Riehl: Riehl: Good to have you with us
CV-Selket: Webb: "It's a pleasure Riehl, you've assisted us, now it's time to return the favour."

  6. The Vizeadmiral ordered the BDM personnel multiple times to withdraw immediately and not engage the enemies of Rheinland. Of course the order was ignored.

Quote:[RM]RWK-Falkengraf: E: Lichthammer, get your men out of there and into the cordon.
[RM]RWK-Elbe: Kreuzer: I repeat, to all Rheinland forces disengage and join the primary fleet now!
UN|Gunda,Riehl: Riehl: Alright, we'll return to to the cordon.
[RM]RWK-Elbe: Kreuzer: Agenten last time, disengage now!
BDM|U-101: Agents, carry on your fire! Take these unioners out!

Fortunately our forces fought valiantly and Rheinland's enemies were scattered and defeated. The Military's sole explanation for this conduct was that their battlegroup was maintaining a cordon around the Jump Gate in order to protect Hamburg system.

This however makes no sense since it is well-known that the unlawfuls use jump hole anomalies in order to enter Hamburg. It also does not explain why they refused to defend the Rheinland territory in Hudson, why they could not send a portion of their powerful battlegroup to aid us in a battle that was raging just a few K away, why they ordered the Liberty forces to stop fighting the Unioners and leave, and finally why they did not allow me to enter their communications in order to coordinate more efficiently.

It is not the first time Vizeadmiral Kreuzer's name crosses my desk. A few weeks ago we caught him disabling trade lanes in order to slow us down however we decided not to pursue the matter any further.

After the fight, I was contacted privately by Lina Koch, a Flieger of Rheinland Military. In case you find it interesting enough, I am attaching the conversation I had with her.

This is a Priority-level report and thus instructions are requested by the Oberkommando on how to further proceed in regards to these developments.

I. New Modular Station in Sektor-7
II. Smuggling interception

Abteilung I. A modular station was erected within Sektor-7. The station's name is Heddernheim Facility and docking was restricted to BDM ships which is a violation of national security law. Subsequently contact will be made immediately with the base administrator in order to rectify this problem.

Abteilung II. During a patrol in Frankfurt system I encountered an IMG secondary transport hauling Military Vehicles. The transport was also heading towards Sigma-13, which was in violation of the embargo. Fortunately, I managed to intercept it in time and enforced the law. The captain was cooperative and complied with my orders. During this interception I was also assisted by former Direktor Koch.

Suspect: Konteradmiral Claus Auttenberg

After I received an emergency call in Thuringia, I was dispatched to the scene in a Fafnir. The conversation was heated however I managed to cool it down and find out what happened.

Apparently Konteradmiral Claus Auttenberg attempted to disrupt the lawful decommission of the two installations by ordering an attack on the RNC Bismarck which was carrying out its legal duty. This unlawful order led to a skirmish between RNC, BDM and [RM] ships. [RM]Dornier-05, piloted by Konteradmiral Claus Auttenberg, was successfully destroyed as well as a [RM] gunboat while the others retreated to Thuringia. No losses were reported on the lawful side.

With the invaluable assistance of Konteradmiral Gerhard Wolf, we talked to one of the [RM] survivors, Kaptain Alexander von Harrisburg, commander of [RM]RWK-Rosenheim who admitted to breaking the law and named Konteradmiral Claus Auttenberg as the one who issued the orders. I decided to not press the matter due to the mitigating factor that the Kaptain was obeying his superior's orders.

Our efforts should focus on finding whether Auttenberg is still alive. I am in contact with Konteradmiral Wolf in an effort to solve this matter internally considering the sensitivity of the situation while our House is in the middle of a brutal war.

Addendum: I just received the blackbox logs from the skirmish. It appears Konteradmiral Auttenberg was the first to issue an attack order. This is in direct contrast to von Harrisburg's testimony. Here is the raw material:

Rheinland Law Violator
Datra

Today while flying on patrol in the Hamburg system (Sektor 7E), I encountered a ship that on seeing me decided to pull off autopilot and manually fly for the asteroid field. I decided to follow it. The ship came back as a "Bullmastiff" Pirate transport. I followed it through New Berlin Jumphole before stopping him for questioning. Upon explaining that his ship was subject to destruction, and offering him to eject to stay unharmed, he decided to flee. I opened fire and he attempted to enter cruise multiple times. I should note that he at no point opened fire on me. He then attempted to jump back to Hamburg, an attempt I tried to counter. Unfortunately my system malfunctioned and I was not able to stop the jump in time, and as a result ended up jumping by myself. After jumping back, the Pirate transport was long gone.

Rheinland law has been made clear to the subject, and thus should be destroyed on sight.

The law violations are the following:
  • §2.2.3. violation
  • §2.4.1. violation

Zoner Carrier border violation

One of our automatic Tiger Sharks interceptors during a routine patrol encountered in Sigma-21 an extremely well-armored and armed Zoner Carrier named ZC-Arkadia. After being ordered, Arkadia complied and stopped for a routine inspection and questioning. During the questioning the captain admitted to flying from Omicron Rho to Sigma-15, stopping at Freeport 8, before continuing to Sigma-21. This is a direct violation of the Directive for foreign capital ships and law enforcement vessels and subsequently was fined 20 million credits.

However the captain refused to pay the fine, mentioning that this was a matter for the "Zoner Council". He was then promptly informed that Rheinland does not have the obligation to negotiate with any Zoner Council when in comes to their House Law violations. The captain was offered an alternative way instead of direct payment by assisting us in R&D of a civilian vessel but he refused again, citing neutrality. In the end he was pressed again to pay the 20 million SC while being warned that there would be consequences for refusing. Instead he said that he doesn't have that money. Strangely enough only the ship's extra armor plating is valued to cost at least 40 times the amount of the imposed fine.

Subsequently, and as a Light Fighter could not force the issue more on the Zoner Carrier, the captain was informed that he has 24 hours to send the payment. But no payment has arrived so far. Finally, the report's precedence is flagged as Priority considering that a warship of that size and power was intercepted while flying right behind our battle lines in Sigma-21.

Evidence:

The two law violations are the following:
  • §4.2. violation
  • Failure to pay the fine

Junker Congress, Valhalla Shipyard and Thuringia

After receiving unauthorized pings within Thuringia, I launched on a Tiger Shark to scan the system's perimeter. Shortly afterwards Spezialagent Engel joined me on another Tiger Shark and we intensified our search operations. Eventually in the northern side of the system I tracked and intercepted a Junker Congress ship named .:j:.Emily.Burton which was heading for Puerto Rico. Together with Sgt Engel we interrogated the individual, the full conversation is attached at the end of this report. Emily Burton stated that there is information about Thuringia amidst the Junker population of Puerto Rico. As for herself, she learned about Thuringia from a man named Vincent who is based on Freeport 2 and commands a Rheinland Pirate Cruiser. She also admitted to illegally salvaging parts from Valhalla Shipyard. She claims to be 16 years old, a minor.

In the meantime, Liam Engel departed from the area to switch into a fighting ship; I couldn't allow Emily Burton to leave Thuringia considering the amount of information and activities she was engaged in. Admittedly I was also impressed with her abilities considering how young she is. Eventually the individual was presented with a choice: Join BDM as a child protégé who will be trained and eventually become one of us or face capture.

She chose the first option. So we set course for Planet Weimar and delivered her to the appropriate personnel. In the meantime I intend to follow up the rest of the information and leads she has provided us with.

Rheinland Law Violator: Munkey

Today, while patrolling within the Frankfurt system, I detected a ship going by the callsign of Munkey, a Serenity-class civilian medium transport, undocking from Planet Holstein, possible direction vector for Neu Berlin.
Upon performing the usual cargo check, while its cargo hold was empty, his weapon storage was not: along several samples of common countermeasure droppers and cruise disruptors, he did carry several samples of restricted Rheinlandic weaponry, namely:

- 2x 'Stealthblade' series photon blasters;
- 2x 'Stealthblade' series photon turrets;
- 2x 'Hornviper' series tachyon cannons;
- 1x 'Firekiss Mk II' series plasma cannon.

The subject was notified of his law violation and of the consequences - as for Law 2.2.1, all restricted equipment used by Rheinland law enforcement in hand of non-Rheinland personnel is to be confiscated. However, not only he did not comply with my order, instead he employed Holstein's mooring platform to land his vessel. With little cunning, I successfully managed to lure the target space-borne again, only for the same
captain to state that he got rid of those Rheinlandic weapon samples.

Upon notifying the target of his law violations, he docked again, not to be seen.

The law violations are the following:
  • §2.2.1. - Violation, got rid of weapon samples.
  • 2x§2.4.1. - Double violation, did not comply to given orders.

Rheinland Law Violator: HAMMY

Guten tag.

Today, traffic in Frankfurt was slightly higher than usual, so I decided to patrol the lane between Mannheim and Mainz. Within the vicinity of Mainz, a Behemoth-class medium transport - callsign HAMMY - was scanned as usual, and resulted that was hauling Refugees, likely from Planet Nuremberg, given the dire situation in Munich.

When I attempted to stop the vessel's captain to inform him of his violation of Rheinland laws, he blatantly ignored my multiple orders to halt, and forced me to deploy cruise disruptors to stop his ship. I informed the captain to turn back and head to nearby Planet Holstein to offload the Refugees he was illegally moving, but he outright refused, and kept running from me, heading towards Mannheim.

With his blatant ignorance of Rheinlandic law, as well as defiance of a direct order from a Rheinlandic law enforcement officer, I was ultimately forced to resolve to brute strength. My nimble Sleipnir easily ruptured the Behemoth's hull, turning it to dust. I took as many people as I could onboard my ship and offloaded them on Mainz, the remaining ones were picked up by a friendly ship passing by the lane, which took them to safety at the nearest station.

The law violations committed by this captain - despite justice having been delivered - are the following:
  • §2.4.1. - Violation of orders given by law-enforcement authorities’ representatives.
  • §1.4. - Transportation of more than 100 persons is restricted only to liners and ships of size up to 3.000 cargo units.
  • §1.4.2. - All ships caught within Rheinland space violating this regulation will be detained and passengers will be reloaded in space if a ship of law enforcement authority suitable for their transportation is available. Alternatively, detained ships may be either returned to the spaceport where they loaded passengers or to the nearest station or planet. After that, captains of these ships are obliged to unload all passengers and then undock for leaving check to make sure no one stayed aboard. In extreme cases, law enforcement units are authorized to use necessary force. If such an event happens, responsibility for any possible injuries of passengers lies fully on uncooperative captains.

Assignment Report: "Lost Prototype Recovery"

This is my report on the "Lost Prototype Recovery" assignment.

Made my way to Planet Weimar, Thuringia, to gather the gear required for the assignment. In the meanwhile, I asked the engineers to run a full check on my Sleipnir, to ensure it was at 100% and at full operational status.

Went back to my ship with survival&salvage gear and an HEV suit, placed the gear in my hold and proceeded to my ship's cockpit, ran pre-launch checks and system checks, as usual. Everything green all around the board, asked Weimar Control for takeoff permission, which was granted. After a successul takeoff, I set my waypoints to the last known location of the prototype vessel. The way from Weimar to the coordinates was clear of hostiles. Upon reaching the coordinates, within the Nordhausen Fragments in the northern side of the system, my scanners identified a jump hole anomaly connecting Thuringia to Puerto Rico in sector 2-Delta. Caution advised for radiation within the Fragments.

Successfully engaged jumping protocols, I entered the Puerto Rico system.
The anomaly connecting to Thuringia is located in sector 5-Golf, within a cloud full of explosive gas pockets within the Rincon Fragments - supposed retrieval teams are to make caution when moving through due to gas pockets and background radiation. In sector 6-Foxtrot, approx. 10 clicks from the Thuringia anomaly, my ship's scanners detected an unknown vessel wreckage. The external structure as well as hull deep-scans confirmed the vessel to be of Rheinlandic origin, with Rheinlandic insignia on the sides, which does confirm the wreckage to be the lost AV-1 Prototype - the hull itself seems to be relatively stable.

I approached the ship from the cargo bay, and proceeded to enter. Made my way to the cockpit to retrieve the black box data. Further analysis afterwards detailed that most of the data were corrupted, and I only managed to retrieve the very few moments before it went dark.

After black box data retrieval was successful, I managed to check the whole ship for more clues about its fate. Analyzing the surviving electrical parts turned out to be useless as every single piece of electronics was damaged beyond repair, fried by malfuctions or decayed by background radiation. Shield emitters were damaged as well, which might explain several dents I found on the external hull from the small rocks floating around in the field.

Managed to find a small archive with BDM-related data, including prototype test data prior to the field test, as well as prototype hull designs and blueprints, electronics design and what I suppose is highly classified equipment blueprints which should still be in testing by our R&D department. Luckily, this archive seemed to be meant to be able to be extracted, thus I carefully disconnected it from the ship and brought it back to my Slepinir's hold, where I put it in a secured container.

Unfortunately, while I recovered all sensitive data from the vessel, the husk itself still remains in Puerto Rico. Not an engineer myself, I can say though that - despite the hull being in a rather decent status despite all this time - all electronics are completely fried, thus a recovery team is required to either tow the ship back to Thuringia, or repair the essentials on the field in order to be able to fly it at least on impulse all the way back.

Made my way back to Planet Weimar, where I made sure our R&D receives the secured container I mentioned.

This ends my report on the assignment.

Survey Report: "Uncharted II System"

This is my report on today's survey of the "Uncharted II" system.

Made my way from Planet Weimar, Thuringia, to Durban Station, Omicron Rho, in my personal Sleipnir where I joined up with Direktor Enfield on his Mjolnir. No hostiles encountered on the way.

We proceeded to the Omicron Delta system first, then onto Omicron Kappa. A curious encounter happened as we saw an Outcast Border Worlds Transport, callsign [XTF]-Anaranjada.Rosa being tailed by nothing else but a Gammuian AI Cruiser, callsign Broken.Machine. Upon entering Omicron Gamma, Direktor Enfield gave me the order to cut the cruiser's engines - which I did with a well-placed cruise disruptor: shortly after, we received the Outcast captain's regards for it, and we went separate ways. We went into Omega-41, then Omega-5. When we proceeded - with extreme caution - to enter the Hammen Hole, we found a gravitational rift in the middle of it.

Upon activating hazardous systems, we proceeded to enter the rift, and we found ourselves in a system similar to Bering, completely engulfed in an asteroid field, but this system's field is particularly dense even for fighters, making cruise flight hazardous at best. The entrance jumphole rift connecting to Omega-5 is between sectors 5-Echo and 5-Foxtrot. The first thing that we saw, however, was a derelict Vidar-class Hessian cruiser sent to explore the system, most likely remained stranded yet in very good conditions. Proceeding further into the system, joined by the RNS-Braunshweig shortly after, we met a captain in a Big Dragon transport, callsign Ghods_Demi, with several units of a local mineral called "Narcrahtite".

We took samples of the minerals, then explored further on. A few clicks from what seemed the system's middle, we saw another derelict ship, this time a Liberty Dreadnought. Like the Hessian cruiser, it was in excellent contitions - yet it raised the doubts on how a ship of such magnitude managed to enter this system. It brought me to the theory that gravitational rifts open and close everywhere around Sirius, and where it opens pilots and captains go, only to risk remaining stranded within it.

Upon exploring further on, we noticed a third derelict ship, this time an Enclave cruiser, like the ones that glassed Leeds. Nearby it, a jumphole rift located between sectors 4-Charlie and 4-Delta which was - according to my computer - linked to Gallic space. Deciding not to push further on, we scouted the system for anything else worth mentioning, but we were unsuccessful. One thing to mention is that the Nav Maps do not work properly within the system. Usage of waypoints is highly advised.

We then made our way back to Omega-5 through the rift we crossed to enter, then back through the Omicrons to Frankfurt, where we made way to the AESIR facility - where the Narcrahtite mineral has been successfully stored.

This ends my report.
