Deaths in Combat - Korrd - 05-18-2007 ' Wrote:I voted for #1. Reason bein we should just keep it how it is, 1 death rule for ALL. No need to lower bots an bats of capships..that would just be silly.Idem. Deaths in Combat - Ant - 05-18-2007 Currently capships don't even get one full recharge on shields and hull when using bats and bots. A Rheinland bomber gets three or more recharges on both shields and hull. When I'm flying a capship, I'd much rather face another capship than pesky little fighters or bombers. It's difficult enough to even hit a well flown fighter with a battleship. IMHO, fighters/bombers are already more effective than they should be against capships. I think that Epyon's actually right. ALL fighters, no matter whether there's a capship or not, get 3 lives, and 1 for all capships. Sounds like the most sensible idea in my opinion. Of course, if someone proves me wrong... Deaths in Combat - Nightfall - 05-19-2007 Again: 1 death = capship whoring comes back 3 death = a lot of flaming and confusion as we have it now, has a need for rules in rules choice 3 (Make a one death rule for all and significantly lower the bots/batts capacity of all the capships) will bring the balance back up - as like when we were all going by the gentlemen's rules Deaths in Combat - Ant - 05-19-2007 Look at it from an RP perspective. Fighters are best suited to patrolling an area or to conduct raids against shipping. They can pass through asteroids much more easily than Battleships and are far better suited to hit and run raids. If they encounter capships, the obvious thing to do would be to call in heavier support units. Fighters can escape from confrontations with capships pretty easily. There is no real need for fighters to attack capships unless in support of another capship, in which case the firepower of the fighters should be enough to turn the fight in their favour. Fighters are also well suited to protecting capships from bombers. A large capship without fighter support is especially vulnerable to bombers. Deaths in Combat - PARAKEET - 05-19-2007 Bots/Bats Lower on Capsships: NO NO NO don't do that. 1 death rule: Yes that is the best one death for everyone. Seriously a bomber can take out a liberty cruiser easily. I have learned this by personnel experience and if it wasn't for some fighter support I would have been a goner. (NPC's really annoying when you accidentally hit em.) As Ant said those fighters are good against bombers. (Ant, haven't seen you in a while you still flying with us [SCRA] ?) Deaths in Combat - fwolf - 05-19-2007 There we go...90% of the players with capships. Everybody above level 60. Fighters? Only light fighters, to avoid missile spamming from battleships, some acrobatics for masochists. Or maybe some bombers. Going straight to the maximum, gunboats drydocked for ages. Yeah lots of X-player-X with battleships, stucking at asteroids, that big guns. Everybody wants a nice big gun, to avoid their complex of inferiority. BTW, Im litting another torch. Let it flame, as the public apparently loves it. Deaths in Combat - PARAKEET - 05-19-2007 I still got a fighter, just that at the time I was moving it (the cruiser) to Omega-52 and bam bomber logs on and starts attacking. Stopping as this is a potentially volatile thread. Deaths in Combat - Eppy - 05-19-2007 I don't even own a capship yet. A far as fun goes, a Saber is still the way to go. Deaths in Combat - kiggles - 05-19-2007 What happened to the old days when we all used to use "gentlemen's rules" and just say no bots and bats for capships? We never had so much of a problem back then, guess people are not gentlemen any more. Kiggles:( |
