Look here, you ignorant corpses - Sprolf - 12-10-2009 ' Wrote:There was once an underlevel civilian in Kusari relaying QCP movements to the Kusari lawful forces over system comms, after being repeatedly told to leave, and that he'd be shot if he didn't. Fixed that for you. Civilians should not get involved in things like this, underlevel or not. This is like battery/bot giving to combatants - they can attack you, because you're involved. It's just rotten hiding behind rules. You know what? This is a roleplay server. Roleplay would be blowing him up. Ergo, there will soon be little starflier wings spinning in space. Baboom. Look here, you ignorant corpses - Bear - 12-11-2009 Ok, here's what you do in a situation like this: 1. Starflier or any under level enters field, now chances are they are gonna come right up to you and sit there while they send messages to their pirate buddies. 2. At this point there is no definite way to tell that he is scouting, but because he is close, not moving and looking right at you, you are suspicious. He can't possibly do anything to you so move away. 3. Here is the moment in which you will know for sure the true nature of this under levels presence. If he follows. If he does, fly in random directions, "oh look, I'm 30k about the plain, I'll fly 10k to the right and then straight down and to the right again". Pirates can't follow you if you take random directions like that. 4. Pirate will eventually get sick of trying to track you and will call his minion off. 5. you are safe. Either we follow these instructions or we introduce a clause that states that "players under level 30 cannot be used for scouting. Vessels that are deemed to be scouting regardless of level are able to be destroyed". Now, yes I have thought about the abuse that this may lead to but by making the players follow these instructions we can prove beyond reasonable doubt that yes, they are scouting. Now, I can hear your brains saying "but what if they want something and are following us for that reason". Well if they are asking for advice I'd still be cautious but if they are silent, run far far away. If they are asking for advice answer it for them while your cruising away from them? then if they keep following that act in itself proves that they are guilty. Look here, you ignorant corpses - Tommeh - 12-11-2009 Hmm, good idea, but if you will be running everytime up or down when starflea comes near, you won't be able to mine a damn thing. It will be ruining your bussiness, and fun. Look here, you ignorant corpses - Sprolf - 12-11-2009 Or, if we went with Rudo's idea for the homogenization of NPC and equipment/ship levels, we wouldn't have to worry about new players being shot - because they'd already be in an up-to-snuff light fighter with decent weapons. That's a good point, I'm still getting used to the fact that practically nobody but myself likes the thrill of being chased by a mob of angry pirates. That is also a good point. If his idea is implemented forget my idea completely. Look here, you ignorant corpses - Fletcher - 12-11-2009 If you want to scout, send in a light fighter with a lot of CM's... Like the Salvager that botted two gunboats (repeatedly) in New York this morning, then said the Junkers are going to declare war on Liberty when I blew him apart with two mortars. Tasty boom, really. Not smart. |
