Apart from special, exclusive quality teamfights only for the upper class of server people...
Whenever I fight, most people use Graviton, sometimes Molecular if against Plasma or Particle. I rarely see Positon and it's logical. Since 90% of the fighter pilots use Pulse guns, it's close to self-mutilation to use them. Even if you happen to fight many people with Neutron and Tachyon guns, the defense penalty against Pulse will negate the advantages you may get.
However, I did not know Pulses will definitely be normalized. This will already make things more interesting.

It doesnt matter if most people use 2 Debilitators. If Im dueling someone that has 5 Krakens and 2 Debilitators I wont use a Graviton shield. Just because people dont do that because they are too lazy/too uninformed, is not really my problem. If they dont want that little bit of advantage, its their own fault. Against people that actually -can- duel, it makes a huge difference(same goes for group fights).
And uh, no it doesnt negate the advantage. But alas, from your logic(and sarcasm) I can see that you dont duel those "upper class of server" people, how you called them, so theres really no point in trying to persuade you into anything.
