As for realism, its a mistake to say that there is no oxygen or fuel for the fire, cause ships tend to carry such things in large quantities. A ship with pinhole ruptures in its fuel and oxygen tanks could burn like a torch for days, without any additional real structural damage.

I actually intended to tell that it would have been more realistic if ships blast after few second when they catch fire. It would be weird to see a ship on fire without exploding when the ship has infinite fuel to support the combustion.
