Now I have found a new one, with a 5000 transport I estimate that can generate 63.400.000 SC an hour or 17.611 per sec, is that good or bad, common, too slow or awesome?

17.611 per sec is a little low, even for standard cargo. you should be rocking at least 25/s

Uh, I'm pretty sure 15'000 per second on a 5k transport is about as good as it gets with regular commodities, and even that works only on the few best commodities and if you waste no time on docking, running into no pirates or broken down lanes at all.

I'm interested what route Ruken is talking about and whether it involves mineable commodities or not. I'm going to assume 17k/s on a regular route is a calculation error unless proven otherwise Tongue

Being a Freelancer, having all the options, hauling goods to far-away places and seeing the wonders of the galaxy in the process is why I play this game. Calculating profit per time is where the fun would end for me (I'm bad with numbers anyway).

I always end up fixated on profit per trade run and only deal in high-profit cargo such as gold, wine, platinum, and Nomad brains, especially if I'm saving up for any ship beyond a gunboat. If you get a decent enough freighter, go out into Nomad turf, merk some Nomads, and take the brains to Cambridge...CHA-CHING!

I specialize in the most lazy trade routes about - sure, I don't make as much as top-tier power-traders, but I do it very comfortably and without any kind of stress. THAT is what a good trade route is about for me.

This is what it is all about, imo.

The only time you should go power trading is when you absitively possilutely NEEDS to have the MONEH for something.

Right now, I personally go trading because I can, not because I have to.

However, as far as what makes a trade route;
Point A, being a place where you buy item X.
Point B, being a place some distance away, where you can sell item X for more than you bought it for, before buying item Y and then traveling back to Point A to sell item Y for a profit and then doing it all over again.

I need to learn more routes.

I like routes with a high risk of piracy. It's just too bad most pirates use destroyers these days and ask for 50 million without doing much talking, so I no longer have a choice between some fun RP or fun PVP, but rather no RP + losing lots of cash or no RP + unavoidable death.

On my absitively possilutely NEEDS wishlist:
nomcruiser (200m)
CAU8 for my lpi gunboat, my sally and aforementionned nommie cruiser and maybe my BWT (900m ea.)
Cheater thrusters for all my ships (25m ea.)
etc.

I currently go on 7400 profit per second mineable commodities trade routes from time to time in my BWT, somebody point me towards this trade circuit, especially if it doesn't involve mineable commodities, as there aren't always miners in dublin (especially now that the shortage is over).

I used to like just putting on some music, and trading wherever the most profit took me, wherever it was.

I wish smuggling runs were a bit more profitable. Beats regular trading any day, and much more daring than mining.

Hell I've never determine TR by earning per second - that sound too much like power-trading
where there is no space for RP...

When I was flying as a trader - I aim for RP cargo trade routes, where besides income I get also
RP encounters and RP gains.

So, in summary - good trade route IMO RP trade route.

On my FL ID'd trader I like taking Fur from Planet Tomioka/Nagano through the Sigmas and Omegas to Planet Cambridge, and then Luxury Food back to Luxury Liner Mackinac/Nagano.

There's something thrilling about hauling Luxury Food right past Cadiz Base Smile
