RE: The problem with the Junkets Congresses 'Saltese' base in Humboldt... - EisenSeele - 02-21-2013 :| So, how is this different from any other player base that deals in ores? RE: The problem with the Junkets Congresses 'Saltese' base in Humboldt... - Oystein Baadsvik - 02-21-2013 Lythrilux I'm a bit confused at your initial post. You claim it cuts too deep into profits as you could get 48Mil or whatever for selling copper ore, but that is for 100% of the ores buying price on Denver. Which means your not paying the miner in question who mined the ore. 4K is a fair price and if your wanting to haul a transport worth of silver and not paying your miner, well shame on you. Unless you mean you'd mine and haul it yourself? Multiboxing? Well that's not allowed either. The only issue I see with this base is that they are demanding that all the ore goes through the base. If you want to sell directly to a trader you can't do that (less primary player interaction, which is against the point of mining). If you do then you don't have docking rights, which is fine, but then the turrets will shoot you. You'd have to mine outside their range, and those turrets cover most of the mineable zone in the field. I think miners should have the choice to mine directly for transports without fear of being attacked by the turrets. I for instance occassionally do mining ops in Humbolt with other faction members or friends of mine. With this base here it could make it more difficult in that sense. So I'd like to see their rule about the ore all going through changed but that's just my opinion. As Creature said, if you don't like it, then leave. Prospective miners could always work with us and our base in Alberta instead RE: The problem with the Junkets Congresses 'Saltese' base in Humboldt... - Anaximander - 02-21-2013 The junkers are a semi-lawful and highly dodgy bunch of people, great way to deploy and use a base. RE: The problem with the Junkets Congresses 'Saltese' base in Humboldt... - SA_Scavenger - 02-21-2013 Hm, it does bear mentioning that the price you pay for the ore comes with the fact that you've paid to have it mined for you and paid 'pirate taxes' already. It's a full 26 million credit profit, on a 5000 hauler, with no risk attached. Your copper profit is based off you doing all the work and taking all the risk. We had to defend the base against lolwuts, Nomads, Wildes, Hellfire Legion and quite a few other independents. It wasn't easy but it was fun. Also, economy needs copper ore so mining it isn't a bad idea. RE: The problem with the Junkets Congresses 'Saltese' base in Humboldt... - Zen_Mechanics - 02-21-2013 Still, that base will die either way, if the prices wont kill you, others will. With what, and I don't like you'r attitude. Hi-jacking the field won't cause trouble and clashes? Is that your philosopy? RE: The problem with the Junkets Congresses 'Saltese' base in Humboldt... - Ivan - 02-21-2013 Why not to bounty it? 150 mills should be fine nuff, I guess. RE: The problem with the Junkets Congresses 'Saltese' base in Humboldt... - Lonely Werewolf - 02-21-2013 It's a lv 4 core base with 6 Weapon Platforms, being supplied by currently the 2nd most active faction on the server, who have access to barges (I assume can jump them but I don't know for sure). I really doubt anyone will be able to take it down. As for a bounty remember this, there's a 700Mil bounty on Melbourne Station and it currently still stands. If you wanted to see this bases destruction, the time has likely long since passed, unless you can commit to disrupting their inbound shipments of Basic Alloy (but with 2nd most active faction, good luck with that). Falster sells Silver Ore for 4,250 credits a unit. 4,000 per unit is good, and it's even closer to sell points then Falster. Hell, I might sign Gateway up to ship ore if they allow it |
