RE: Simple Question ... - SMGSterlin - 06-04-2013 I would say it's feasible for at least Outcasts to have trade lanes built. Outcasts have a large income from Cardamine sells and don't really have anything lacking they need, like food or water. They also have connections to Lane Hackers, which are ex-Ageira employees, so they could, at the very least, build an older model of a trade lane if the parts got smuggled in. RE: Simple Question ... - Apollon - 06-04-2013 Well i see it is Realistic and not, Because as what Sterlin Said they have connections to LH and so, and it is called TRADE LANES why the hell should they use it to move their Capital ships and military ships, especialy for Outcasts.. RE: Simple Question ... - ejoman3002 - 06-04-2013 Now if the had a catapult at Malta for quick response throughout alpha. That might be something they can use for there caps. RE: Simple Question ... - Treewyrm - 06-04-2013 They're called 'trade' lanes in a sense that they were pivotal in establishing commerce to a whole new level within systems by allowing ships to travel fast and goods, materials and people to be delivered faster. It was what pushed economy further on, although undoubtedly not as much as jumpgates did. Trade lanes are essentially a rapid transit system in the Freelancer universe. It doesn't mean that only trading transports go through them but in peace time indeed the major bulk passing through would be transports, hence the name. Their function is that they are trade roads and essential part of the rapid transit system. Don't be so bluntly literal, think about where the name comes from first and why. Nomads can and they do build both gates and lanes as it is, they're different too. And they are experimenting with that technology pushing envelope further, the evidence is all there, a prime example would be main research conducted by Das Wilde. You don't expand that tech without knowing how it works. They may not know its full potential but they know some and they are learning to get more out of it.(06-04-2013, 03:48 PM)belarusich Wrote:(06-04-2013, 12:44 PM)Knjaz Wrote: Because only Liberty and Gallia have a monopoly on it's construction and maintenance? I would concede the point if you could explain how Nomads actually build things. I am genuinely under the impression that anything not Nomad-blue isn't made by Nomads.
