Not sure about that.
I wouldnt want my tax payers dollars to be wasted on this ****.
Rather spend it on keeping a murderer alive and out of death row.

' Wrote:So are we EVER going to use Majkp as a server again? It is free and good, so why look for a new one? Are the police in on this? If they are, why not have them monitor traffic on Majkp's server if he brings it up, so they can figure out who the DDOSer is?

In short it looks like majkp's ISP took the easy way out and terminated his contract to protect their other customers, and the Czech police appearently doesn't have the knowhow, nor ressources to do anything about such attacks. Since majkp's server was located in the czech republic, it is their jurisdiction, although the nubtard might be located outside the Czech republic.

But since the nubtard did target other servers located in places where anti IT-crime ressources are higher, in order to missuse those ressources to target the discovery servers, and he thereby stepped on some toes that involves more than "just a gameserver", I'm pretty sure there are investigations ongoing involving the "big guns".

Mr. Hacker, congratulations. You have forced me to talk to people on skype and play mario kart instead. I hope it is worth all the plotting, the angry intentions, the IP masking and now the fear that you may one day get a knock on your door.

Relish it as it is possibly the greatest thing you may achieve in your life, if you drive yourself in these tight circles. You silly, wonderful person.

If the nubtard is located outside the Czech Republic, then the offense should be prosecutable there as well. It just depends on whether they'll bother.

You know what I hate? I hate the fact that there is no 'law' in the internet. It is all based on where you live, what youve done, that countrys law, blah blah blah.... why can't we all follow one set of laws? Spam would die, DOS attacks would die, www peace :)

Personally I think getting a rented server is a good option although it costs money.

That way if there are future DDoS the service provider has to something about it. Trying to DDoS a game server is nothing new nowadays. The firm (if it's reliable and reputable) has to do something about it and put the bigger wheels into motion.

But then there's always the cost of running the server.
