' Wrote:In short it looks like majkp's ISP took the easy way out and terminated his contract to protect their other customers, and the Czech police appearently doesn't have the knowhow, nor ressources to do anything about such attacks. Since majkp's server was located in the czech republic, it is their jurisdiction, although the nubtard might be located outside the Czech republic.

But since the nubtard did target other servers located in places where anti IT-crime ressources are higher, in order to missuse those ressources to target the discovery servers, and he thereby stepped on some toes that involves more than "just a gameserver", I'm pretty sure there are investigations ongoing involving the "big guns".

Our police doesn't care about this...

Our police care only about taking bribes and sit in stations

From a point of view of a czech law university student. It is doable under current EU "laws of sort", but hard.

Quote:I'll assume you meant "what is a proxy?".

In this case, we're referring to an Anonymizing Proxy, which is a computer through which one can send and receive data. The effect of this, generally speaking, is to mask the IP of the one actually sending the data, since well-made anonymizing proxies will not reveal the IP of those using them. When we run a traceroute call, then, we should get only the location and IP of the proxy, rather than the approximate location and IP of the actual user.

Proxy are also useful for the security purpose also.
There are large number of IPs sets are privately own by Telecom Operators, ISPs, IT companies & other industries who work most frequently on network, to maintain & control their network.
That IPs are isolated from the internet that we are using. Only using proxy servers we can able to connect to them.
IF you get a static IP means your operator owns that particular series of IP, thats why he is providing it.
Other than if the hacker using such an isolated series of IP, then I think it is impossible to find him.

Because when you hit the trace route, you will go upto only certain Proxy servers after that your connection will get terminated by server.
Neither you or nor he can be able to ping each other in that case.

So forgot about it, try help ADMINS to host the server.

i'm with them, Thanks to Majkp to host the server for such long time
